Not wrapping you over your knuckles, but, rule of thumb, always double check the instructions with other sources. Reason being that out of all of the processes involved with making that part, that leaflet is not the most involved of it all, heck, they might even copy/paste from another manual online from a different company with a similar product, something i have seen before. Never trust the manual until it's confirmed by an outside source(s), this was a lucky simple fix (not in terms of hours spent fixing the problem) but there are other issues that can cause irreparable damage. Just my two cents on this. Anyways, the car looks amazing, excellent work, can't wait to see it move around :)

Your yoke might rub on your sway bar accelerating/decelerating and coming back down. I had the same problem. Not sure if you're using the top metal mount and eliminating the factory style. I oval out the mounting holes on the mount to chassis was able to slide the front diff upwards more. Still wiggle room to achieve driveline angle with no vibration.
@72Dexter72Manley72
@72Dexter72Manley72 5 жыл бұрын
Mine does this when i down shift from a higher speed. I am thinking about adding a spacer where the rear sway bar mounting brackets go. Then making new square brackets.

hows the driveshaft lined up? i mocked my engine with the same kit and thought maybe cxracing had it shifted more the passenger side so the diff and trans can line up. but u have urs running any vibrations?
@StewartMotoring
@StewartMotoring 4 жыл бұрын
I know what your talking about, it appears (it is) the diff is offset one side and the driveshaft looks kinda crooked. But Yea I have been driving and haven’t had any vibrations. Been on the highway and it does well. As long as the angles are symmetrical it won’t vibrate.

Hey, I did have to drill a new hole in one of the cx mounts. But also my strut brace is higher than usual. Kinda hits my hood I had to raise my hood a bit so that may be why I didn’t have to lower engine a bunch

@MandoCabrera

asasial1977 it can, but since the motor is literally held by 3 mounts and a few bolts, it’s easier to pull out the whole engine/trans. Plus, it’s easier to work on it while out than being under the car.

You depend on people to do their job, but this day and age people who put stickers on are making Min wage with probably no skills, you have to factor this in and not let it rob you of the joy of building this car. Remember what they say, you want it done right, do it yourself, which you have taken that saying by the horns. Take your licks and learn from them and just shake your head. Congratulations on a beautiful car.

refund your time? Come on dude. You're making yourself look bad, not them. If you eat at a restaurant and the food makes you trapped on the toilet, do you go back looking for money to reimburse the time spent on the toilet? NO. What do you do? Never go back and warn others not to go there either if they are refusing to acknowledge their mistake. All that company owes you is an apology and they need to step up their quality control.

I put a Na-2J in my 260Z and Turbo'd it. Sometimes these cars are saved from the Junkyard like i did mine. My car was junk when i first found it sitting in someones front yard. The engine was locked up, Trans was sitting in the rear hatch, gear oil leaked all in the hatch. Had trash up to the top of the door panels. I still bought it because i loved old S30's and knew what could be done with it.

@s30shawn The purist will say if you don't keep it stock, you screwed it up. I love the cars stock or modified. I have had my 260Z for 15 years now. Nothing wrong with saving a Japanese classic car.
@arlanreber6717
@arlanreber6717 5 жыл бұрын
Well, it’s like putting Chevy engine in a ford. Yes I was a little harsh and for that I’m sorry. To me, a Rebelo L28 would have been a better choice. You could have sent the locked one off to the them and the number would still have matched. That’s the route I’d of went. I’ve had a z for 26 years and when and if my engine lets go, be the route I’ll take
@72Dexter72Manley72
@72Dexter72Manley72 5 жыл бұрын
@@arlanreber6717 I would rather keep a Japanese classic car on the road, doesn't matter what is powering it. I don't know what condition Stewart's Z was in when he got it. But like I mentioned mine was junk. Full of trash inside, Interior total loss. All body panels full of body filler except the hatch. Trans was in the hatch leaking gear oil all inside the car. 2.6l engine locked up. Since I was rebuilding the car, I decided to buy a 83 280zx and swap everything over Efi included. Did that, ran it for a couple of years. Then I turbo'd that L28 n/a engine and added a stand alone unit. A few years later I decided it was time for more power and it was cheaper to upgrade to another engine, then try to modify the l28. I did the 2JZ swap for under 2 thousand bucks. All the parts included........... Rebello can't do a turbo engine for me that makes over 500hp, for under 2 grand. The 2J is Japanese, head designed by Honda, it is one of the strongest and most powerful engines. A 2JZ engine can handle 700 hp on stock internals. 💪 Sounds incredible when revving also. 👍👍 Another Japanese classic car still on the road.
