I've been playing a janky mix of UW control and U Djinn tempo the last 2 days in best of 1 to surprising success. Not only have I been winning, it's felt really good. Looks awful on paper...and uses a few oddball cards like Flip the Switch. That card in particular, tho, has actually won me several games off the surprise decayed zombie attack dmg alone (combined with a Djinn), but it also plays well with both make disappear (to pay casualty cost) and with Haughty Djinn, being able to take advantage of 2 Djinns effects at the same time (down to 1 mana for a 4-tax counter). I also maindeck 2 mystic dispute, which just works perfectly vs unsuspecting (in bo1) blue decks/spells but again can take advantage of double Djinns in case the spell in question isn't blue. Had a couple 2 (or 3) mana Settle the Wreckage blowouts as well (and one win where I played a 2-mana settle to pump my 2 Djinns for exacties, as it was the only card I had in hand at the time ;) Overall, it's been really fun. I originally thought it wouldn't work at all and if it did it would only be in bo1. I am now thinking about trying a best of 3 version with a transformative sideboard, allowing it go to full-on UW control or full-on blue tempo post-board. I wanted to link the list here to see what you or anyone else thought at first glance (since it doesn't look like it should work, on paper) but my last comment seemed to get deleted rather quickly when I posted the link...

Did a creatures-only Grull deck a while ago. The inclusion condition was "is it a wolf/werewolf?" so you can imagine it was not nearly as effective. It was a lot of fun, however. Also that Izzet scoop in game 2. 😂

9:40 that's actually an important part of magic that people can overlook. Despite your overall archetype, the style your deck might have to change depending on match up. Even in mirror matches, your play style might have to change due to a lot of factors.... even the mere fact you play second.

My anti mono blue, red, and black decks. I've been trying is white/blue flying spirits control/lifelink for the extra'extra enchantment value

22:30 I really want to know the decklist of the Shigeki opponent. I am playing the bant deck for a while now. Warchief is not wierd. It is great at killing planeswalkers (Farewell does not). Attack them with haste. Devil tokens will not help vs. trample.

I play monored and there was a week that - EVERY SINGLE GAME - the opponent went first. That was so frustrating. Funny thing is, when I switched to my other decks, I could go first. But every time when I switched back to monored the opponent would go first again. Looks like the AI hates aggro decks...

The strategy for running only creatures reminds me of doing the opposite in Eternal (a different online TCG) years back in a brutal creatureless Temporal Rift control deck. Do not underestimate the power of blanking a significant part of your opponents' deck- let their hand be filled up with useless dead cards, that's a quiet form of card advantage for you, and one that can absolutely win games.

I'm a black mage so I've never had a problem with pain lands or understood what the fear is even about My life total is a resource, after all

I played this deck against blue multiple times. I lost every time. Turn 4 Haughty Jynn and counter everything. You only have a chance if you are on the play.

Stop losing to blue, let's go losing vs rakdos and monoblack again!

You need 4-6 burn spells or you will lose aggro mirror on draw every time. I run 3 Rending Flame in mine and they are incredible for dealing with the problem creature in every match up despite their cost which feels antithetical to aggro. Loamspeaker is just straight trash in aggro.

Played this deck for a few weeks, it sucks on ladder guys, don't bother.

I use an esper deck that has many things that ppl want to counter.. Blue guy countered me 3 times in a row then dropped his big creature.. He quit 2 turns later 😎

Hi CGB! Devoted Gruul player here... devoted as in I force Gruul even when it does not work. Just one comment, even mono Green has Tail Swipe. Put Play with Fire in it, also Lightning Strike. But as always... great video.
