Or companionship?? My last two dogs i referred to as my daughters, treated them with respect and let them feel like a family member, the dog is a mammal aswell as intelligent, treating them like a subpar species is dumb, why even have a pet if youre just wanting to be dominant over it, i treated my dogs as equals and had zero issues, they respected me and i respected them, no biting people, walked easy, slept on the bed, no destructive tendencies. Having an authoritarian view on dog training is cruel, treat them with compassion and youll see that theyre smart enough to understand that.
