Installed by your local electrician from Chilcompton, Radstock, is this new, shiny Storage Heater!! What a lot of people don't realise, is that they contain many bricks that are heated up by the element and this in turn heats up the bricks that then release the heat over the course of a day.... the idea many years ago was that they use an off-peak electricity supply (Economy 7) to recharge over night... however the newer models also need a second "off-peak" supply, as you will see in this video!

Any experience with quantum? Comparing with the cheaper creda like you installed... i am a sparx too but haven't installed any of the newer heaters and have heard not good things about the controls... ???? 🤔👌👌

Hi Nick, no afraid not - however I've not had any complaints about the controls with the Creda models and presumably with the Quantum, by Dimplex, they have to be similar because I believe Dimplex make heaters for Creda? They're one and the same aren't they? Surely being the more expensive brand the controls should be even better!! With older customers I will generally have to help set up the timings etc, but with many of my customers being local I am happy to go back and help if needed - once they're set though I don't generally hear about any issues. Help needed if you wouldn't mind. I was replacing one element and took the front off to take elements out now I can't remember which wire goes on what. I have 3 browns and 3 purple can you help. Thanks in advance

Hello, it’s hard to be really sure without looking, but generally speaking it sounds like you have 3 live and 3 neutrals and these will need to be connected to the correct terminals to avoid polarity issues… most Storage Heaters will need to be earthed too, but this is probably earthed via the casing of the unit… in future, and I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, take a photo of any wiring before disconnecting

I should have mentioned that the brown will be live and the purples (or blue would be neutral) - hopefully this will be indicated on the new elements ie “live” and “neutral”. These will then connect up - also try to ensure that the earth is connected up too!!
