Gardening is hard work! All that lifting, bending and twisting can really take a toll on a body that's not ready for it. So I partnered with my dear friend Toni Moran (she's trained Olympic athletes) to give you some exercises that you can start doing right now. No gym required!
My goal is to garden for the rest of my life and I believe that by maintaining my strength and lifting properly, I'll be able to do it as injury free as possible. Everything we share here can be done in the comfort of your home.

Hi there! My name is Heather and I garden in zone 5B, recently changed to 6a, in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on a small residential lot. My garden lives a whole lot larger than it is and I love sharing tips and tricks, as well as plenty of mistakes, with others who love to play in the dirt.
