I'm an automotive technician and use mine daily. Very useful. Lot of guys go on about noise etc but a very useful for a multitude of things even more if you add an small regulator valve to change the air pressure.

I ran the cheap of the cheap for years, I then bought a really really budget one when I needed to replace the older generation one. That was a mistake as it was so underpowered it couldn't do much. Something cheap can be fine for tons of jobs, more power comes in useful for trying to pop out ball joints or stuck bushes. As always I appreciate you watching Pat, I hope you are all keeping well over there 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

Always use good quality eye and hearing protection ! Wear gloves . I wrap the handle body of my air hammer with black pipe insulation and secure tightly with electrical tape . Looks like hell but it works well . Also I use an all steel heavy air hammer that was designed for chipping iron castings . You may laugh but a construction jackhammer works well on class 8 trucks to pound out seized steering axle king pins . 79/23

So instead of smacking out the old kingpin with a hammer and punch you just air hammer it out ⁉️

@@mandoelorryann4171 Before purchasing a portable hydraulic king pin press I used a 50 lbs air jack hammer on stuck king pins . Class 8 steer axle king pins are over 1 3/4” in diameter . Always tried to avoid heat .

thats a very good air hammer. the air fitting on it will see quite a bear of wear on it due to hammering though.

Yes great tool. I also have an electric rotary hammer for drilling concrete. I wonder if that could work to pound out bushings and spin off rusted things. Rotary Hammer is also a powerful tool. But it is bulkier. It can drill and it has a slip clutch, but of course is not designed to hammer rotationally, so it might wear out the slip clutch using it to remove a bolt or nut and wont be as effective as an air wrench. But it could easily pound stuff without spinning.

Hello John, I missed this comment so apologies for the delay, I get so many comments each day across all my videos it is impossible for me to get through and respond to them all. When you say you live close to me can you confirm what country you are speaking of? if you are new to my channel you may not be aware that I have moved to Australia over 3 years ago and some of the clips in this video are from when I was back in Ireland. Regarding hiring mature apprentices it depends on the workshop, over in Australia it is difficult to get an apprenticeship when you are that age as the workshop will pay much more for you than they would for a younger apprentice as mature age has a much higher min wage level to pay. I always encourage everyone to follow there passion and if it truly is for you I would suggest testing the waters part time on Sat's etc.. so you can get a good feel for what it is all about in a professional workshop. What I have learnt over the years is many people like fixing cars at home, but under pressure, time restraints and customer deadlines it is a very different experience that working in leisure at home in your spare time. By working part time you really get a feel for it and then you can see the pros and cons that work for you, there is nothing worse than going into a 4 year cert and finding out as you get deeper that it was not what you wanted. I hope this helps.

Never been so excited to get a new tool. Just order the same one before I seen your video. I’ve been wanting one of these for a while. Haven’t had a use for one until today. Replacing struts and having to remove a ceased bolt from sliding out of the bottom.

Did it work? I'm in the same situation and I have already tried heat and drilling but it didn't work. Using a sledgehammer is pretty difficult with no room for a backswing and nothing to stop the knuckle from moving. I'm hoping the air hammer will do the trick....

A 50-year-old man, who works as a polisher at a combine-building factory, addressed the factory’s sectorial doctor with complaints of general fatigue, sensations of numbness and pain in his fingers. Objectively: the skin of his fingers is pale. Reaction to pain, tactile and thermal stimuli was revealed to be slightly disrupted. No disruptions can be observed within the other organs and systems. What disorder is most likely? the answer is pneumatic hammer disease.

I have been getting alot of exhaust work at the shop I work in and the spring bolts always get jammed in saw I have to resort to a torch cutter to make the bolt flush and recently got pretty burned so trying to stay away from the torch as much as possible will a nice air hammer cut these bolts so it's flush and change over to air hammer punch to punch the rest out from the other side?

you can ruin things with this tool. I had an inner bearing on my trailer burst and had to drive off the pressed on ring. not a job for the air hammer. the bit kept slipping off of the rim and driving into the tapered axel shaft that needs to be smooth for a new bearing to be pressed in. after using the air hammer, which didnt fully drive off the ring from the shaft, I was left with guage marks that had to be grinded down carefully for the new bearing to go in. excellent ubiquitous tool but not always the best answer...also, avoid air hammers with plastic triggers as they are poorly reinforced to the tool assembly and break off forcing the purchase of a new air hammer with a metal trigger
