I’m happy to finally gets these last two videos finished and published!
In this video, I finish up the Super Tune process on the No 4. If you’re contemplating this process for one of your planes - and the concepts behind the process is the same for all planes - at the very least I would tune all the moving parts. This is key to a silky smooth feel when in use.
I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think in the comments, please.
Channel notes:
These videos have been the vehicle I’ve been using to learn LumaFusion, as well as practicing production process and creative technique. In all, parts 2 and 3 took 88 hours to make. At a total run time of 43 minutes that’s around 2 hours per minute, or six 5 day weeks of 3 hours a day. Committing to 9-12 Monday to Friday as “being at work” has been a breakthrough for me. Moreover, I’m really getting in to it!
Most of that 88 hours wasn’t spent on the actual plane, but rather on learning and improving all the processes involved in the complete production. I’m happy to report that a production process has evolved and I feel the look of the videos are getting better. The biggest revelation was realising the iPad Pro was the best device for filming and the iPhone was better as a monitor. This significantly cuts production time as I don’t have to wait for clips to load to iCloud before editing on the iPad. Seems obvious now! Also, Filmic Pro is easier on the iPad and the microphones work better too.
I’ve spent a lot of the 88 hours on Skillshare courses learning about lighting, sound, editing etc. All time well invested, and of course, I won’t need to learn it all again! The target for the next video is to post it within a month. Seems like a long time, but baby steps eh?
Oh, and I’ve realised that I need much better lights. And a decent camera. And lenses. Oh, and an iMac Studio. And an LG wide screen monitor. And…
See you next time!
