Love it, the guy around @9:00 mark is a beast! carrying around that massive molten ladle of aluminum all over that factory floor. My back hurts just watching it. Thank you to all those men and women who damn near work their souls away! You are appreciated, you are seen. You are the people who make our world possible. Edit - Creator/uploader should tag the businesses or list them in the videos, if the business is open to it. I am certain you would pick up some contracts for work. Social media is the best marketing there is. The screw machines at the end were awesome. Reminds me of my Uncle. He ran Screw machines. Had a similar setup but not as many machines as, Asai has in his ship shown. Great job keeping all those old machines cranking!

Despite being such an advanced consumer driven society it is impressive how Japan retains it's smaller manufacturing businesses, often the way in which these businesses create involves a great deal of craftsmanship and isn't reliant on computers. I envy Japan this, small manufacturers such as this in the UK have a very very difficult time surviving if they survive at all.

Whilst I agree that the work looks arduous that doesn't mean I want it to disappear, though it would be great if it could exist with decent working hours and good pay. Your analogy is false though - here the product can be produced with a higher or lesser amount of automation but the product is still the same - or to put it another way - stone tools can be made by people or CNC machines. I would rather small industry existed like this than just massive companies mostly importing products manufactured abroad: in a time of war or international embargo it would be hugely beneficial to still have smaller scale manufacturing such as can be seen in this video. And if those smaller scale businesses used more or the same amount of automation that's fine with me too of course.@@stevendaleschmitt

Ahhh yes, finally a refined version of casting/molding. Was fascinated with this process but unfortunately recommended Pakistani method. This is so much more state of art, professional.

Wonderfull, all these companys contribute very very much to other manufacturing companys and hopefully will stay in business forever. The last company is grand, making just one variety of what each machine is capable of producing, the guy is lucky to be in his position as company owner and operator in a much needed products for almost anything.

I amazed that none of the workers have eye protection but all of the other protective devices. Aluminum is known to explode if it is introduced into an environment such as a too cool Mold or one that has moisture in it!

Looks like a lot of stuff they have where I work, only it's die casting where the aluminum is shot into the mold under high pressure. At a different part of the company they do a lot of the sand casting. Most of it now is automated with robot arms pouring the ladle from the pot, but the older equipment when I started was still hand ladled molten aluminum.

That guy in short sleeves carrying a big ladle full was not very good. If he slipped, tripped and spilled that load he could have burned the other guy who wasn't even facing him all to hell. I guess safety is not important in Japan. I got splashed once when I was working with that stuff and luckily I was wearing a leather coat otherwise I would have a big burn hole in one shoulder.

ive done this work,its dirty,hard,and an honest living,you walk out at the end of day black as coal,especially after flipping the molds,and all the smoke,but the ole school foundry i worked at like this one could not compete with the newer modern foundries,and of course ours closed,it was the last of its kind in marion indiana,west side foundry owned by marion tool,a shout out to my old boss perry white,rip

I am a professional in casting manufacturing. I am not impressed. Too much of physical labor, not enough pneumatic machinery and overhead cranes, hoists. Carrying ladle with hot metal by hands several feet away is not fun too.

Brings back memory's that's for sure......worked in a foundry as a teenager making railway wheels and bogie castings......i was the 'pot drop', the guy that tipped the pot to pour the steel into the molds.....the last foundry closed down last year, end of as era.

They know precisely what they do. The alloys are not "what was there at that moment". Feedings are specified (13:41) They stirr in the aluminium very thoroughly, I have never seen that in video's out of India. It would not surprise me if the boss has a degree in metalurgy. Donot forget they work long days (10 hours, 6 days) so defined quality and a matched price are coming together. Japan on it self is a "defined process".

Хорошая литейка среднего уровня. А зачем крупные предприятия , тоннами лить ?... Техникой безопасности не пахнет , баллоны со сжиженным газом рядом с расплавленным металлом.

У нас вон снизили надзор за малым бизнесом недавно. Как результат - серия метаноловых отравлений сидром. Доверять малому бизнесу плохая идея.

Интересно посмотреть на их высокотехнологичное производство. Наши льют блоки двигателей БПМ в вакууме, а тут как было 50 лет назад так и есть по-сей день.

Вот когда в России будут делать высокотехнологичные двигатели не для БМП, а для русских тойот или фордов, причём в миллионных тиражах, тогда и выходи поболтать ерундой. В России подобную мануфактурку давно "съели бы" различного рода отжимальщики и взяточники -провокаторы. А там людям дают возможность производить не только дорогостоящий продукт для "военки", но и простые недорогие детали, не требующие больших энергозатрат и дорогостоящего оборудования.
