@@RoadsideRescue I live in CA but if I lived in Utah in your neck of the woods I’d 100% be a customer Ernest . But yeah a small group of guys is manageable but I’m talking like 10+ co workers , some point in the day u just wanna be left alone

I got an oil extractor a number of years ago. Love it. Tested it a few times by draining all the oil with the extractor and then removing the oil drain plug. No oil ever comes out. It works. And yes, handy in case of an accidental overfill.

I had a mechanic buddy who told me not to use these extractors because it doesn't fully drain the old oil. Interesting.

@@nottelling4828 yeah I tested it when I first got it (a number of years ago) and then last fall my buddy came over to do an oil change. He wasn't confident in the amount of oil we collected so I drove him to the parts store to buy a new crush washer (finding the washer was an ordeal in itself). On the way home with the washer I asked him what the over/under was on how much oil would come out lol. Not even one drop. I'm glad we tested it again. If I were to get another one eventually, I would go with an electric one. I'm kinda lazy that way. :)

Clean job. 💪 I saw the oil was pretty clean when you removed the oil filter. Engines with really dirty oil or badly maintained I always prefer to drain the oil from the oil sump. (Get’s out more sludge on the bottom of the sump) If you have a car with dirty oil I usually do an engine flush and a plug drain. (I know you mentioned you don’t do oil service often but still, a word of advice) The vacuum extractor is a very handy tool. For cars you know didn’t exceed the oil service intervals. FYI: You really should look into installing a small air compressor in your truck. Super handy, I believe your extractor is the same type I have which you can pump manually or connect a compressor hose, which will suck out the oil automatically. More time efficient and it just looks professional.😜 Some other accessories I highly recommend for mobile services: - Tyre inflater (after tire repair or adjust the pressure) - Long tube blow gun (for cleaning spark plug holes, air boxes, etcetera) - Air hammer (for suspension work. Perfect tool to agitate rusted or stuck bolts - If you do engine diagnostics you can also do a compression and leak down test or a smoke machine also needs air supply Having compressed air is just really handy and you have so much functionalities. A setup of a converter and a small air compressor cost about $250 so in my opinion really worth the investment. 🤙

I bring ramps around for my mobile oil changes, prices will vary depending on vehicles. I make it clear i charge more if im the one picking up the supplies. And ALWAYS, use toyota filters. There the same price found at walmart and other places. But way higher quality..

The filter comes with a new o-ring in a plastic bag , someone screwed up. Remember the o-ring is the seal not the seating or torque of the cap.

Ernest, forgive me if I missed it. Which oil extractor do you use. I’ve been looking at them for months and just haven’t get comfortable with which one I want to purchase yet. I looked through your tool list but didn’t see it. Anyway, been subscribed to your channel for a few years now. You’re doing great, keep it up and keep taking care of that family!!!

Ernest, if you had to crawl underneath the car anyway, why not just drain it from the bottom? Reason I ask is because I've always been told that the extractors don't completely drain the pan.

I all ways pull the plug cause it might have a magnetic so it will tell me more info on how the engine is and sucking it out no guarantee get it all out. Might be the reason why you’re overfilled.
