Suzuki has a 250cc sport bike among all the other 300ccs and 400cc. Why? Is 250 enough?

I bought this bike brand new 4 months ago I've been riding for over 30 years and have had 600 and 1000 and this bike does just fine on the highway and I'm 200 lb plus I've carried my son is 160 lb so that's 360 pounds and I can still maintain 75 miles per hour on the highway for me I don't need rocket speed anymore it does just fine I can be going 70 miles per hour and not have to downshift just give it throttle and it'll pick up I'm very happy with this bike it's averaging between 70 and 75 miles per gallon handles amazing I don't see how people and some reviews say it handles terrible very easy to ride and I like the way to the bike because it's more stable especially on the highway

I had one two years ago after my blue Yamaha R-Spec got stolen. Underpowered but still reliable, and I was able to get it cheap at $4100 on the fly. Today with gas at $5.50 + the 76 mpg would extend my riding pleasure. When I traded in my '18 250R gas was only $2 a gallon. I'll be buying a new one in 2023 if gas keeps climbing.

Practice your hill starts. Apply the rear brake. Rev the bike up. Ease the clutch out. When the bike wants to move, release the brake add throttle. You’ll be fine. Make sure you ride north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Great roads! And of course all the roads around Alice’s Restaurant

Hi I just watched your video on the Ryker... for a beginner who wants something to use as their daily commute; which of those two would you recommend?... People say that 3 wheelers are safer and you can ride them in more types of weather than motorcycles; what is your opinion on these two statements? Also is it true that you don't need a motorcycle license to ride the spyder or the ryker since they are not classified as motorcycles?
@leeridefar
@leeridefar 5 жыл бұрын
Yes three wheels are safer but you can ride a motorcycle anywhere you want in all weather. The biggest difference for motorcycles in the rain is stopping. It takes longer to stop in the rain on a motorcycle. For commuting motorcycles can be quicker and easier to park. As for licensing I am not sure how the Ryker is classified where you live. Where I live in Canada you need a motorcycle license (3 wheel). If you learn and get licensed on a motorcycle you’ll get to ride a Ryker too automatically but not the other way around.

@@idrayas2 Suzuki identified that 250cc (an engine already available and proven in the form of the previous Inazuma) would be learner-legal in all Global markets. They focused more in SE-Asia / India as these markets were friendlier to lower CC engines.
@idrayas2
@idrayas2 5 жыл бұрын
@@TalkieMedia that is exactly why im asking about SEA. It doesn't sell in SEA nor that suzuki showed any will to actually sell it. It sure comply with the regulation, but they can always go the way their competitor do by destroking a larger displacement bike to sell in SEA and japan. That way the global market met it needs and the SEA + japan market can always get a destroked one. You can use indonesia as the largest market in SEA and India as another asian example, rather than go with gsx250r, the indian suzuki bike made an entirely new 250 platform, single cylinder with even a bit more power than this. Indonesia is just plainly not interested in selling this knowing inazuma didn't go well. The competition is tough, r25, cbr250rr, rc250 and ninja 250 with 7-12 more horsepower. The only way i see this bike make sense is in china where there really is no horsepower race and the 250 there generally are lackluster in performance. Hence the use of haojue engine. This is more of a quality test for haojue to meet international engine material standard rather than a well thought out product. Quality wise im sure its alright i have first hand experience with inazuma after all.

I think these new 'big digital dashboards' are better for new riders than bikes with old style speed dials, as you can clearly see how fast (or slow) you're going without having to squint or look again. Big screen digital dashes suit newer bikes (whatever the category) alot more than than they do cars I think. Great review btw.

Great review, people forget about price. I can afford just about any bike, cash on hand, but I don't want to. I'd be willing to pick one of these up for 3000USD and have a good time with it and sell it when I'm done. Wouldn't lose much, maybe $500, $1000 tops. Not a bad loss for getting a brand new one. That said I've been looking more at the Suzuki DR-Z400SM and Honda CRF250L. True street bikes just never appealed to me... but if this one is cheap while being a Suzuki, who knows what could happen.

This is the only beginner sport bike that is still manufactured in Japan, too. For this reason, the quality is very good. Suzuki is the only Japanese manufacturer that did not move production to cheaper developing countries. Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha purposely hide their country of origin labels under the fairing because they don't want you to know that the bikes are made in Indonesia and Thailand. Ask the salesperson where those bikes are made, and watch them play dumb, like "I don't know." Suzuki, on the other hand, proudly displays the sticker on the outside, where it is clearly visible.

@@leeridefar Yes, even the high-end Kawasakis, Yamahas, and Hondas are made in cheap developing countries. In contrast, even the cheapest models of Suzuki are still made in Japan, for example the TU250X and S40. That includes the engines, as well; they are made in Japan, and the quality really shows for discerning customers. My neighbor recently bought a brand new high-end Kawasaki, the ZX-10, and was shocked to discover that it is made in Thailand. He was pissed, but it's too late, it's his now. He says he just ASSumed it was made in Japan, and that he wouldn't have bought it if he had known it was made in Thailand.
