While I was still writing for Car Craft magazine, one of my last big projects was a 1999 Mustang GT buildup. This is the story of swapping in a new 5.0 Coyote V8 into the SN95 Mustang with the help of Pro Dyno (www.pro-dyno.net) in Fort Mill, SC. Dan DeSio and Paul Connor at Pro Dyno were instrumental in helping me avoid the usual pitfalls from such a project, and I cannot recommend Pro Dyno enough. And the end result? We went from 225 horsepower at the rear wheels from the tired old 4.6 Modular to 432 and a car that's an absolute blast to drive!
Please note: I got ahead of myself a bit doing the narration and misspoke. The transmission is a T45, not a T5. And the clutch and flywheel are ACT, not ATI. Thanks!
