This is the most accurate description I’ve ever heard 😂 -Job security is insane it’s basically impossible to get fired in Sweden. If you kill your co worker you get like a sit down with your manager but you probably won’t get fired.

Of course Sweden is famous for its Death Metal! Known for its signature buzzsaw guitar distortion sound (BOSS "Heavy Metal" pedal with all knobs maxed out), Swedish Death Metal is a European brother to American Death Metal, which had its own sound. There have always been two homes (well, maybe three - with UK being such to a slightly lesser extent) for old-school Death Metal - Florida and Stockholm. In Stockholm, you have the BIG 4 of classic Death Metal: Entombed, Dismember, Grave, Unleashed. Also, the Gothenburg Melodic Death Metal scene is important, with bands like At The Gates, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity being the originators of this style. In general, Sweden is a fertile ground for ALL kinds of metal. Tons and tons of metal bands with worldwide popularity.

Is it possible for an outsider to distinguish between metal and death metal? Or heavy metal? Or other forms of so called hard rock? I know what glam rock is, poddle rock (like Europe) too, and arena rock (like Springsteen), but after that it starts to get tricky. (Me being a jazz guy that kind of enjoys "Jinjer", and "System of a down". Also Jens and Anders Johansson's synthesis of metal and classical with some fusion vibes.)

@@herrbonk3635 One could write a whole giant book about the various metal genres and their similarities and differences, but i'd say the most obvious feature of death metal is the constant growl vocals as compared to the sort of "standard" heavy metal where the vocals are usually pretty high-pitched. Also, death metal is, as the name suggests, just all around much more brutal and aggressive and often uses much more down-tuned guitars. If you like metal mixed with classical i think you should check out the symphonic metal genre with bands like Nightwish and Epica.

Compared to many other European countries, here in the north we do not dub English speaking film/tv-productions (with some reservations for kid's movies), that's a huge reason to why we learn English at an early age.

I grew up in the U.S., more specifically, in the Deep South, and my first exposure to anything ostensibly Swedish was a line of pornography called "Swedish Erotica." (Yes, even in the religiously repressed Deep South of America people are obsessed with sex.) I was a teenager at the time (my friend and I had found and watched the entirety of his father's porno tapes), but even then I suspected the people in the sex scenes were not Swedish, even though some of the women were blonde and beautiful.

Don't worry they say the same of Italy. With the difference that Swedish women dream to marry an Italian guy, as yourself why;). The fun thing is that Swedish women go to Italy and take all the men that Italian women dump because they are considered not good to them. Fun uh? About Swedish guys being, sometimes beautiful that's true. The problem is in their (lack of) personality and passion.
