I agree, I got the thermostat for Christmas and two sensors... I just got the UV light for my ductwork today and will install it tomorrow. I have been watching videos on the Honeywell Home products and I am pretty excited to have them in my home. I will know more once I see how well it learns my routines. So far I love the look and the house is comfortable.

Hi Tim, that is correct. The T9 needs a 24 volt C wire for power. If that wire doesn't provide power then the T9 won't on. -Jim

For Heat Pump systems with backup heat. What logic does the T9 use to kick on the AUX heat source? I want to be able to configure this so the AUX heat doesn't kick on as long as the outdoor temperature is above a certain point. I know there is an AUX Threshold setting on the Ecobee units. But don't see it on my T9.

Do you need zoning in the home for the thermostat to be able to target the one room that needs to be heated/cooled? If it just blows a higher average to get the room to the desired temperature, would it just make the other rooms on that floor hotter/colder? We are having a new system installed and getting the T10 and one sensor for a cold/hotter room. We do not currently have a zoning system installed. So I am trying to understand how the sensor actually works. Thanks!

I want to replace the 2006-era thermostat for our geothermal heat pump to be able to adjust the programming with an app to avoid always needing to go through the awkward multi-step manual process on the thermostat panel. However, I have not been able to find details about whether the app allows me to save different heat/cool programs so they can be implemented to replace the current schedule. For example, if I create a set of heat/cool times for when we are away, I'd like to be able to apply them by just opening the saved set - and then be able to remotely restore the "normal" settings to be in effect when we arrive home. The videos all seem to imply that changing the programming needs to be done the same way on the app and the thermostat screen, but that doesn't seem very useful.
@ResideoSupport
@ResideoSupport 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Eric, thanks for the question! The T9 is only able to save/follow one program at a time. You would have to reprogram the schedule each time to change from "normal" to "away". We recommend programming for the most used schedule and then adjusting when needed. You can use the Honeywell Home app to manage temperature changes/holds when you want different settings temporarily.

I have an existing digital wi-fi thermostat that uses a battery pack and it has a Green, Red, Yellow, and White wires connected to Y1, W1, RC, and G with a Blue wire that isn't connected to anything. Hi Jeffery, thank you for contacting us. All our Wi-Fi thermostats will work with your existing wires but they will need a C wire for power. You can trace the blue unused wire, connect it to the C or Com24 terminal of your furnace and then connect the other end to the C terminal of your smart thermostat. if you have further questions you can reach out to us at (800) 633-3991 or sending us a DM to our 'Honeywell Home' Facebook or Twitter accounts and we will be happy to help. -Maria

some question for ya on this tstat and our system. we recently had a new 2 stage heating and cooling system installed in our older home. same york system as the older 25+ year old units. we have this tstat, and we enjoy the features it has, but it seems to run forever. we were told with cooling not to drop the temps further then 2 degrees from desired or it will run longer. i have ours set to cool to 75 for specific times, then raise to 77 like when not home for specific times. when home and it calls for ac to run, it only takes maybe 15 mins to get to desired temp, but never shuts down for like 30-40 mins. then once it shuts off, it kicks back on in 5-7 mins. it does this all evening long. so our first elect bill was really high. to me this seems something is not right. why does it run for so long after desired temp is met. it just sits there and runs when its showing the desired temp. any advice would be great. thanks
@ResideoSupport
@ResideoSupport 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob, this is how our newer thermostats operate, very sensitive to the temperature reading. If the indoor reading comes within 1.5 degrees of the setpoint the system will turn on. This is in place to maintain the setpoint. One setting you can look at is the indoor offset where you can adjust the reading +or- 3 degrees to meet the standards of your home. This setting is under preferences in the menu. -Joey

We now have a T9 upstairs with its extra sensor in our master bedroom, and downstairs we have a model 9000 color screen WiFi thermostat. I was talking about the T9. I bought them and they both work in the one app. The temperature swing (I think that is what it's called) needs to be changed it adjustable. It does too good of a job at trying to keep it right at one temperature. It makes my air conditioner run for shorter times which means it turns off and on more.

Wish I can quickly display, or see on my app, the current temperature in the room where the sensor is. Also I have to run two apps, the Honeywell home app for the T9, and the TCC App for my WiFi model 9000 thermostat. Customer support said they are working to combine the two. Regarding the extra room sensor, it is supposed to detect activity and adjust the temperature in that room. But I found that after we go to bed, there is no movement in that room rest of the night, and the thermostat seems to think there is no one there so it takes that room off its active list! What do you want us to do, jump around like monkeys in bed all night to keep the thermostat sensor active??? :) :) :)

The Priority screen displays the temp reading from all your connected sensors. This is one tap away from the thermostat home screen or the thermostat screen in the app. If you set your Priority to "selected rooms" instead of "active rooms" you'll be able to specify your bedroom sensor and not worry about it not detecting motion while you're asleep.

This is a capable thermostat, and overall I like it. But it could be SO much more useful with just a few tweaks to enhance data reporting. The Android app would be much better for using, optimizing, and troubleshooting the heating system if it (the app) reported the "Equipment Status" screen so users could see what stage the furnace or AC compressor was running. The RUNTIME reporting in the app is pretty lame, giving only a total time for heat or AC, and even that takes about 48 hours to show up. (i.e. I can't use the T9 or its android app to see how long the furnace ran in stage-1 to heat the house this morning. Run-times take two days+ to show up, and one only gets total time in a given day for heat and cooling runtimes. No breakout by number of on-off cycles by time of day like the Google Nest provides. LASTLY - The Honeywell / Residio T9 and T10 documentation is completely silent on how these units handle two-stage heating. There are no user-configurable settings in these T-stats for when to kick up "low-heat" to "high-heat" for instance. So my T9 kept my furnace running for nearly two hours this morning (on the low stage 1) to raise the temperature One degree F. Had it kicked to hi-heat stage 2, the furnace would've been done in 15 minutes.
