Got mine last week, so far so good (I'm using it with 1x10 mtb as long as I can buy a proper Road bike) - Heavier than my previous Tax Flow but smaller: Happy days - A lot silent than previous: Happy days - Mine came with adapters for different tru axles: Happy days - No issues with calibrating or upgrading firmware: Happy days Came with 1mm cassette spacer but instead used a 2mm to fit ten speed cassette and as you said, it handles well long cage rear derailleur. Cheers

The reviews come thick and fast. You are really ON IT with the content these days :) Love it. Great review once again. Tidy Lama lab DOES make a big difference by the way. :) Also, whenever you get on it and break into a 1000+ watt sprint, I'm always a bit worried, that you're going to break something. Haha. As for the Flux S and its limitations, I'm really thinking about getting into the direct drive trainer game but I have trouble deciding on what to get. Mid range aka Flux S or go for the higher end stuff (Core, Direto, Flux 2). Any chance you could do a head to head between those three at one point between those three? It would be interesting to get your take on it. Maybe it will help with the decision on what to get. :) Thanks. And as always keep up the awesome work. You've really stepped up your KZfaq game over the past few months and it's really showing.

thanks to you and dcrainmakers review i purchased a elite direto just over a month ago, i notice occasion quirkyness that i have adapted to. as a fitness tool i love it. mind you i had no roadbike and didnt want to use my mtb on it full time so my local bike shop let me know of a well taken care of old road bike. granted its a 1990 trek 1420 it does very well i was worried it wouldnt fit as it was a 7 speed but it works great the oddity in zwift i had to adjust to was in sim mode passing people up hill and getting passed going downhill. being a clydesdale both of those are opposite what happens on the road. your content is valuable for people and is greatly appreciated. living in northern maine US where winter has already set in(30+ inches of snow on the ground already) having the bike and positive social interactions on zwift are great and keep me moving forward. out on the roads most skinney cyclists look down on seeing my fat self passing them :P in game we all look skinny

Hi Shane! Been hooked on your channel for the last few weeks, so thanks for the great content. I was wondering if you could help me: do you think a brand new Flux S for 450eur is a worthy deal? Just for some background: I abandoned hardcore cycling a couple of years ago as I was quite devoted to it and it took up way too much of what little free time I had from work. So I took up other sports like CrossFit, gymnastics, running, etc. But I really miss the cardio fitness and the zen feeling when you hit the spot on a ride and just stay there, mindlessly suffering away! Recently the Crossfit gym where I workout got a Concept2 bike erg, I connected it to zwift and my addiction came flooding back. I can never go back to spending 5 hours+ on a bike ride away from home, but zwift really has become a wonderful way to kill my addiction and be home at the same time. Do I get the flux s, or do you think I should just take advantage of the bike erg at the gym, as I’ve done? A video on the concept2 bike erg and zwift would be awesome!! Thanks again and forgive the long message!

I am looking to purchase a trainer though haven't got much support in some shops and online can be a mine field off information I don't really understand :( I am looking to use Swift as with winter in the UK, I have only been averaging 50 miles per week. Ideally I would like the trainer to respond to hills etc app controlled resistance. Cant decide which one is best. My current bike is a boardman SLR though it only has 8 on the back cassette. Would this work with the Neo Smart S? the other trainers that seem popular are the Wahoo Kickr snap, kinetic road machine control. Wondering can you offer any advice? Much appreciated Shane.

Dear Shane, My girlfriend is currently on my old trainer a Tacx Bushido. While she enjoys it I am thinking about upgrading her to the Tacx Flux S. Currently she is using the Tacx smartphone app for training. She creates herself workouts and rides them while watching Netflix. So from my point of view Tacx is a good choice here because the app delivers what she needs for free. Seems like Wahoo can’t do it without third party integration and Elite seems to have a subscription model. My goal is still to have her ride with me on Zwift or similar. From your point of view would it make sense to upgrade from the Bushido to the Flux S? Have fun in Amsterdam. Unfortunately I recognized too late that you will be at Rays party with Von otherwise I would have signed in.

Personal preference. There's no accelerations indoors, no steering, nothing to take the static pressure off hands/wrists. A lot of people elevate their bikes an inch or so even when it's "level" indoors.

Kind of off-topic, but have you ever ridden 53-42 chain-rings? Or 55-42? I'm kind of tempted to buy Ultegra or Dura-Ace cranks with close ratios like that and using a 14-34 cassette at the back. Btw, Shimano now make a 14-28 11s cassette in the R8000 range. I'm tempted to try it, since I don't care about downhill speed, and it would give lovely usable and efficient gears with great chain-lines in the big ring.

I don't know why anyone would buy one of these. Having recently purchased one, I was surprised to discover that the Flux line only connects with the Tacx Training App and cannot be used on Zwift. I emailed their customer support to see if I could somehow purchase an unlock to be able to hook up to Zwift, but they don't answer emails. It is no better than my old fluid trainer that I rode while pairing my bike's power meter to Zwift. There "controllable" features are only available on Wahoo trainers, not from Tacx.
