This is horrendously silly. One absolutely does not need to be a savant to create good music without being able to read it, or to be creative and make quality work. Improvement comes from repeatedly doing something, and Taika had the advantage of having access to things he could create with and doing them repeatedly as he grew up. Most people are capable of the creativity that Taika has been able to develop but 99% of them lack the encouragement and/or confidence needed for it to actually mean something. Portraying creativity which has been constantly nourished and comes simply from a love of learning and expression as 'genius' or being a 'savant' prevents capable people from realizing their own creativity and ability to improve and be great. Taika's advice is completely solid and applicable to anyone who seeks it out, as long as they don't have the limiting mindset that you're promoting.
