I use that invisible stitch on early season short hair deer. Also called the upholsterers stitch. Works great on short haired African animals. Thanks for the videos!

Good looking bucks behind you . You outta do a video about them.
@thecedarridgechronicles2 жыл бұрын
I might do that. Maybe a video on each buck and the story behind it?
@ryanayers93412 жыл бұрын
Absolutely and if you mounted them
@thecedarridgechronicles2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I mounted most of them that would be a cool video just seeing the progress of my work for myself while I was learning

Buy a product called Apoxie sculpt. It will do everything you need and is sandable and paintable

How do you finish the stiches?

Make your last stitch from the outside to inside, go around the previous stitch and tie a few half hitches. That will hold it in place. Than you can tuck your tag end with a probe or you can thread the tag end into your needle and run the needle through the incision and out of the hide in another spot. When you pull the needle out, it will pull the tag end back up under the cape and hide it.

stitches? That the needle you use for sewing capes

No I use an L shaped cape needle, but this 6 inch straight needle works great for running back through the incision to hide the tag end of the thread. I just used it here so it could be easier seen

total newbie here: do you mind giving details on the needle and thread you’re using?
