HOW does any relationship turn sexual with a 12 year old????

When I lived in Korea, a predator moved into the neighborhood and the local police sent every school and after school academy in the area a letter. The letter included a list of offenses and a color photograph. All teachers had to memorize the guys face and we sent copies of the letter to parents. Idk if the US does something like this but I think it’s a good idea.

Even IF the child initiated the rape (unlikely) it is the adult’s responsibility to say absolutely not and report the incident

I took driver's ed at my high school and got my teacher fired for massaging my shoulders and hearing him make sexual comments about students. A whole investigation took place and CPS came to my house, etc. Of course, he was fired, but I wasn't allowed to know what happened to him. When I asked, rumor had it he moved to Florida and was teaching there... Truly unbelievable how little consequences these CREEPS face.

Ooof this gives me flashbacks to my highschool with my homeroom teacher.... Who would give some of us rides. And texts us. Or for me would have a student teacher conference if my parents couldn't come too. And then it just turns into how "cute you are" or "what's going on, sweetie?". I'm getting chills from this. Im glad you mentioned emotional state... Teens going through puberty are as emional as it can get and preying on children going through something and going through puberty is absolutely disgusting! I had an art teacher that creeped on me (he wasnt even my art teacher!!!! My art teacher was a woman) and he would leave his class to cone to my class to "see what we were up to" and he would love bomb me infront of everybody and wanted me to attend his non existent after school class so i could help other kids draw 🤨😒🤔... I think my teacher put in a complaint against him because he lost his job before i finished school. (This was secondary school in britain in 2005) But it seems like teachers dont have childrens backs anymore with how much ghis is happening. Im glad i had a teacher looking out for me at the time!

It's truly scary to me how just about anyone could get into such a job and we could never know what sort of person they were if they didn't already have a criminal record! It sort of reminds me (though of course the degree of moral revulsion is vastly different) of my own job, I work in the IT department of a government agency which obviously gives me access to some serious security stuff. How could my employer possibly have known I wasn't going to hack them from the inside? They couldn't! A newer coworker of mine was talking at disturbing length last week about how easy it would be for him to plant, leak, and distribute things. It was weird how much he had apparently thought about it, and he more or less admitted to having dubious morals. My point is it really made me think about what a risk it is to hire people for certain jobs, where you cannot possibly know if they have some nefarious motives. You're giving them access to things, whether it's sensitive information or vulnerable people, and you have no way of knowing whether they will abuse that trust and power!

Why are these teachers so young? The youngest substitute teacher I have ever encountered was 25 fresh out of school. I know Canadian Education is better but not by that much 😮 Thats another matter. Gross no matter what the age.

These abusers and their excusers seem to be incapable of remembering what it was like to be ~12 years old and getting over reservations, maybe even fear to open up to a teacher. It just riles me when children are made out to be these calculating seducers of adult teachers. What to do? Difficult. Harsher punishments for a start but this general attitude of understanding towards abusers (especially in positions of authority) has to change. Common sense, I don’t know.

i feel like it can be hard to filter these types of people out until they attack. i was thinking that maybe school districts create or integrate a lesson about what is appropriate student-teacher contact and what isnt, and to reassure the children that they wont get in trouble if it happens to them. i've seen so many cases where the kids wont speak up because theyre afraid theyll get in trouble. this way, the school is educating kids about what healthy mentorship is, and what dangerous and predatory behavior to avoid and report. it does put a lot of pressure on the kids, but i feel like its the most 'standard' way to get the message across.

Something similar has happened in northern California near where i live and they called abuse. The teachers have been arrested, the principal has been suspended pending investigation. I've noticed that red states are more biased against victims and will use vocabulary that implies their disgust of those they deem beneath them such as victims. They treat literal children like absolute garbage. This is so scary to hear these stories being a mom to a teen girl myself. I saw girls who would flirt with teachers but nothing ever happened bc they were adults who knew the difference. Also f*ck florida. That state scares me most of all.

In middle sxhool our teachers had a special teachers fb where they posted picture etc so that was fun. In hs we only got teachers number for internship if we had to contact them for emergencies. Were not allowed to add them on social media like what?

Is there a way to implement police checks and the “blue card” scheme in the USA for working with children checks? They also need to double down even with that here as that still doesn’t seem to be enough, given that you can acquire them so easily it’s concerning. Therapists, teachers, anyone that needs to work around children need this here in Australia. When and what else can we do to protect children… what a mess.😢

Why does this happen 🎶 Age of consent, depending where you live, is very different Like Texas, New York, Florida Where i live its 17, it shouldnt be 17, should be older But everywhere else is different Now, i looked it up like years ago, so things couldve changed, but it doesnt change the fact that at least 3, at most 5 years ago it was these ages Now, im not sure if these are confirmed or not The oldest i seen was 21 And the youngest, kid you not, and in America, was 11 I was very disgusted when i found that out I think the age of consent should be at the VERY LEAST 18 No at younger, not even 17
