Running my 2016 Charger Hellcat at Pocono Raceway. On this day we did the 2.25 mile North/South Track configuration. My best circuit time was 1:52 over 4 different 20 minute sessions.

Looked like fun! The bumps and pavement make a big difference in lateral grip. I've noticed that track mode traction setting will let you get very sideways, but will help prevent you from spinning out. I see you were manual shifting with the paddles, nice! I don't know what tires you are running, but I really like the Continental Extreme Contact Sports, good street manners and decent track performance, Michelin P4Ss are a better tire but more expensive, if you want a more track focused but street driveable tire the Goodyear Supercar 3s are a great tire, tires make a huge difference. Great job on the video!

I always use the paddle shifters - even during normal driving. I basically drive the car like a manual! I didn't have near as many spinouts at Watkins Glen - and the track was even wet on 2 outa 4 runs! The 180 switch back turns are just killer on our cars. Way too much weight to carry around a big turn like that. the Glen only had 1 turn like that, and it was uphill - so made a huge difference. I'm running Atturo Az850 Y-rated (180mph) performance summer tires. by the end of any given run, they get really heat soaked and I could feel the car get looser by the end of the session. Track tires are so damn expensive though, and I only do 2 track days a year. Back to the drag strip now for the rest of 2021.

Killing it. Good video. How hard is tracking on the car? Brakes. After a day at the track are your brakes done? Do you use special pads? Tires. They are not regular tires are they? Awwwwww man. You said funny what some people bring to the track. Lolololololol guess what. He was there. More than what I’ve done lolololol. What does a day at the track cost? Ok u mentioned the tires at the end. I really love the play by play with the other cars. Great stuff man

It's very tough on the car. 2 or three track sessions will burn through a set of pads (depending on the track), and they definitely shorten the life of your rotors. I've also blown out the left rear CV boot twice. (most of the tracks I run are primarily clockwise, so much more right turn than left - which puts a lot more stress on the left rear wheel). This, and the cost, is why I only do a couple track days a year. The cost is anywhere from $250 to $400 for Four 20-minute sessions, and they are almost always on a weekday because weekends are for professional race circuits. For tires, I'm running Atturo AZ 850 summer performance tires (Y-rated - 180mph). I really need dedicated track tires, but they cost about $400 a piece and it's a tough sell for 2 track days a year.
