Incredibly admirable and driven young man indeed. Such a tragic loss. Made only worse by the inexcusable lack of integrity and action by the police, making his family burden the fight instead, to be so strong in the midst of their grief for answers and justice. My heart goes out to them.

I worked at the whorehouse in Wells, but I did take the back way to Ogden one time, stopped at a bar in a tiny little town called Monte-something, and I heard about it from the locals there. Terrible story! I can't believe his body hasn't been found yet. Elko was a fun town... I kinda miss Nevada.

As of today James Brennen told police where the remains are. So sad. I hope the family gets justice. Thanks for your efforts.

Utah police are the most useless people on the planet! My mom had an attempt on her life from her psycho ex and no investigation has happened. Her truck that was in her name is still in his possession and still no justice. He walks free and has found a new potential victim. The police may as well given him a crime tool kit.

His mother said words to that effect. She felt that if the police had acted, and they certainly had the grounds for it, they would have at least recovered Dylan's body.

When I watched interviews with Dylan’s parents, it was quickly evident where young Dylan got his strong drive, sense of right and wrong, maturity, fight, compassion and no-nonsense attitude from. A truly admirable family. Finding their son’s remains is such a horrible thing to want to wish them success for, but they most certainly deserve the right to lay their son to rest, close to them. My heart goes out to them too, have been thinking of them and following his story from Australia.

I feel very sorry for Dylan & his family, particularly his mother. BUT, being a mother of three now grown up children, l can't quite get my head round him being out there alone in the desert at only 19 years of age, with a really sinister character living right next to him. Not victim blaming, but l would have 'upped' security if that had been my son, - made more of an effort to keep an eye on him & make sure he was safe. I have consistently done this with my own children, and know that my actions at least kept my elder daughter from harm in one instance.

They have found his body just recently (like 3 days ago, I think). That dude took the police to where he hid his body in exchange for a plea deal.

This is the first I've heard of the case, so I don't mean to come across like I don't believe you or anything rude like that. Did Dr. Grande say Dylan was 19? I suppose he did also say Dylan had been working on the farm for a number of summers, so maybe he started at 16-17? I don't really even understand *why* the grandfather would purchase such undesirable farm land for his grandson to grow crops in the first place? It just seems like a waste of money and effort. Also, putting in that amount of hard work for so long just to end up with no crops growing could have been really disappointing and aggravating for Dylan. None of that part makes sense to me. Can I ask where you got the other info on this case? Was it reading news articles or is there another youtube video that goes into it in more detail?

Brenner lived with Candice and Dylan for years. He was a family friend. Dylan's disappearance is his mother's fault.

Dylan was doomed out there and she did nothing. She even admitted to never once visiting him in 3 years. She never even saw the filthy trailer he was living in until he went missing.

I've been wading through comments to find something like this.. there is no way I would let my young son just out his teens go live in an area like this all on his own..Nor only dangerous for an older person but especially a lad so young. It was a ludicrous idea..that land doesn't even look fertile enough to farm.. Makes no sense.The lad was basically a sitting duck.. His family did fail him.

Learning to look and think ahead to potential hazards BEFORE they happen is what saves people. Dylans father recounts how Brenner was always criticizing Dylan....that he was jealous of him. Lot's of crazies live in the desert...it's not just an "inner city" phenomena. Dylan likely didn't recognize the danger because his grandparents knew him or introduced him to Jim, who is referred to in the arresting affidavit as " Brenner and another Lucin resident, D.H., were considered “family friends” of D.R. and his family." Being isolated, being alone, and only casually knowing someone make you vulnerable. Dylan was too young to see the red flags.

But when he looked at the phone again wouldn't Brenner have seen that it was recording? Wouldn't Brenner have deleted the incriminating video?

I think Dylan started recording him while he was dying to show who was responsible.

​​​@@dirtypossem It's been slow going, but they caught the killer, and on pretty solid evidence too- which is certainly more progress than a lot of well documented unsolved disappearance cases end up developing. With my initial comment I was going by the logic that, at least hopefully, the killer will divulge more information and fill out law enforcements blank spots as the case proceeds; unless you are of the opinion that they have the wrong guy I suppose

I think Dr. Grande referred to this at the end of the video when he spoke of Dylan's general level of worldly inexperience in sizing people up. It sounds like Dylan simply didn't realise that Brenner was dangerous and may not have even realised that Brenner was an illegal squatter on the adjacent landowner's property. For all we know, Brenner told Dylan (naive and inexperienced) that the landowner was allowing him to live out there for free in return for keeping an eye on the property. May even have told Dylan that he and the adjacent landowner were old friends. As for running background checks on people, I'm going to be 68 soon, I live so far out in the country that you have to take a gravel road to get to my gravel road, the nearest town to me has fewer than 400 residents and it would never occur to me to run a background check on someone I met.Thirty years ago, when I lived in a city of 75,000, I was much more wary and suspicious of people but now? It just doesn't even occur to me. Everyone I meet is through someone I know or is a relative of someone I already know. Doing the social "how we're connected" verbal dance is one of the pleasures of country life out here. It sounds like Dylan grew up in a similar environment.
