Time to upgrade my 3d printer and in 2020 the Tenlog TL-D3 not only can print 2 different filament or different colour but to print it independently to each other. You can scale up print speed by printing two of the same file at once or have a mirror image printed as per my spiral vase.
Link to buy here :

I bought it for £520 from Amazon UK, I rather buy from Amazon than cheaper China direct as no import tax to worry about and also the after sales care from Amazon.
The D3 PRO is half assembled and medium DIY skill is needed to put together, there is lots of installation video online which will show you how to put it together. I am on the Tenlog facebook group and I found lots of useful information about the software side of 3D printing which is really useful.
Printer is not dead silent but a low huming noise from the fans, definitly better than the 1st gen 3D printer. I managed to set up and start printing within a couple of hours from opening the box and the prints so far is very good.
There are cheaper dual colour/extruder 3D printer out there but this is the cheapest INDEPENDENT dual extruder 3D printer I can find which you can print 2 object at once, there are modification to make it 4 heads on Facebook which I will definitely check out if you need to scale up production of proto types.

Thanks Benson. I bought this machine and it's great. I'm a complete newbie to 3D printing. I was looking to buy a 3D printer to start this new hobby. Thanks to you and other reviewers who reviewed the Tenlog. For those looking for a new machine, I really recommend this model. Dual extrusion machines are only slightly more complicated than single extrusion. In fact it works exactly the same. The second print head just parks itself at the end when you're not using it. My user experience has been joyful. From unpacking the perfectly packed box, to setting up the machine. All the tools were provided. They even give an extra screw for each set of screws. Its almost impossible to connect the cables incorrectly. They provide a USB stick (I have no idea why) and an SD card with the CURA software on it for you to download. They also give two spools of PLA which sem to be good quality (my prints came of good) The best thing is since the reviews I have watched, Tenlog has improved the machine. The second printhead height adjustment is now from the back of the printhead. You loosen two allen screws and turn the red knob to raise / lower the printhead , then retighten the allen screws. They also now provide the wire brush to clean the nozzle at the end of the stroke. The worse thing about this machine is the cable management. The cables just hang all over the place. It doesn't affect the printing at all but it would be nice to have the cables routed properly and looking neat. Also the fan noise from under hood is really loud. You cannot put this in a bedroom. Also one of the X axis belts came abit loose. I haven't adjusted it and the machine still works fine. I'm happy to write this comprehensive review because I hope Tenlog continues to do well and also to help anyone who may be deciding to get this machine. I give this machine a solid 5 stars.

perfectly sum up m8, room to improve but at this price point it is as good as it gets in 2021. I now have a few other printer but not dual filament. Auto level, linear rail and all metal extruder is what is on my wish list, possible DIY conversion but as it is working as it should I will leave it as stock. Thanks for the support and feedback

I too am new to 3d printing. But I have to work on a budget and wanted the best bang for my buck. I almost just bought a cheap ender 3, but then I found a D3 listed on Facebook marketplace for less than the ender price. This video was one of the ones I watched to help me decide to buy it. Only issue was a clogged nozzle. I replaced both with brand new nozzles and it's been printing great since. Once I figured out how to set up Cura for the dual color prints, it does great. I fixed the cable problem with a zip tie right in the middle of the top support holding both secure with no issues whatsoever. I highly recommend this machine to everyone.

@BCreviews

It all depends on how much details you want, the dragon was around 8 hours. When you prepare the 3D file you choose layer height/resolution. PLA can be primed and painted
@Loris958
@Loris958 Жыл бұрын
Hi Benson, goo review, please could You put the file of dragon in TLD format or STL with cura parameters, just to understanding how the tower layout works. I tried to increase the speed and acceleration of movements on void areas but the printer looks like not be affected of these setting as like if it have a hardware lock, Do you know nothing about it? Also I Tried to increase the retraction speed of filament, but also this one could be not change .
@BCreviews

You may get better advise on Fb group as mine is the first version and they may have updated hardware. On mine there is no hardware lock as such and all changes made in cura will affect the machine inc movement speed and retraction

@BCreviews
@BCreviews 3 жыл бұрын

@@BCreviews thank you! It just made me nervous because I read somewhere you should level the bed after so many prints.
@BCreviews
@BCreviews 3 жыл бұрын
If the machine is not set up correctly or if it is faulty than the bed will change height everytime it moves. Auto level will mask the symptom of a bad set up, a lot of people disagree but I say it how it is 😳

Do you think you could put in a bl touch on these machines ?
@BCreviews
@BCreviews 2 жыл бұрын
I am sure it will be a complete overhaul to do that as the main board is old tech etc. if the bed is flat and machine is on nice flat surface you don’t need to level it very often. This machine made me lots of money making logo lights where white face and colour side wall is needed, I only level the bed once every 10 prints or so and that is just for insurance..

What's the point of mirror mode and duplicate mode? Same result. Edit: I think I got it. The duplicate mode prints the same file twice, the mirror mode prints a standard print, and a mirror image of that file on the other side.

Not the best show case I know but as an unboxing set up with no tweaking I think it turns out ok. The filament is really bad, it is so brittle if you don't print something for a day you came back to snaps. I will do an updated video soon as now I have managed to get more consistent print. Also check out the Facebook group where we share all the faults and fix for this model. Thanks for watching and hope to see you again real soon.

@BCreviews
@BCreviews 3 жыл бұрын
Depends on your needs. The D3 is a good machine and with independent dual extruder and you are paying extra for that. If you want just to print different colour then there are cheaper machine which can print just as well if not better. If you want double production speed and will not need full 30x30x35cm print bed (half one of the 30cm) then the D3 Pro is great. I want to check out the 4 head mod to print 15x15x35 but 4 at a time :) it's crazy

Hey Benson. I bought one of these and well, let's just say I'm not thrilled. I can't seem to get a print off it if that looks better than a chimp could do with a 3d printing pen lol. I'm trying to determine if there is a mechanical issue with the extruders, or something else. Would you be willing to post your printer profile, and maybe your filament profile(s) as well? If I can import a known good profile and my prints still stink, then I either toss it in a lake, buy another one, or talk to Tenlog about repairing it. I'm willing to pay you for your time.

you dont need a prime tower if you got a dual extruder .... pls correct me.
@BCreviews
@BCreviews 3 жыл бұрын
I think is the opposite , prime tower is needed because the extruder take turns to print, when it is it's turnit moves to position to print but plastic may not be flowing when it hit target. The tower will be hit first so even if it is running empty by the time it moves to the actual model plastic would be flowing freely already.
