the writing, the acting, the soundtracks, the scripting are just phenomenal. its a masterpiece, no wonder it still holds up until today.

I love the blue/chromatic cinematography in this movie. And exactly in this scene the blue vs red palette of colors is so perfectly applied!

James Cameron is a genius. Thats all i got to say. Nobody could have done this in 1991. To explain this concept to his team and to bring this quality to screen and to move the movie at incredible pace scene by scene. Truly an impressive feat. The editing of the action sequences are masterclass.

I love how genuinely surprised the T1000 looks when his hand breaks off. They're emotionless killing machines but there is some lifelike qualities to them

"I could get out and run faster than this!" I love that line from John... I don't know why it makes me laugh everytime I hear it.

Most of this scene is done with practical effects and real stunt work, unlike modern films that rely entirely on CGI. The thought and care put into this film is still untouchable. That's why the film holds up so well. Stop motion, rear projection, puppetry, stunt work, these are all old school techniques which James Cameron utilized perfectly but he did it better than almost anybody else

Still has a better CGI compared to 80% of the modern movies.

My man emptied the whole clip into the T1000's face, jumps to get a grip of the steering wheel, turns the steering wheel to make rhe truck flip. Such a badass sequence. The action in this movie is absolutely top notch. Epitome of a action movie.

Always loved the tuck and roll by the T-800. A human could never do it but a robot with no organs and hypermobility in every joint and he can become a sonic ball lol. The attention to detail and depth is just incredible in this movie.

This movie has stood the test of time. It’s still amazing even after all these years.

This is the epitome of an action movie. Everything from the cinematography, the originality and the conception of the scene and the outcome of events, the soundtrack, the grounded movement and performance of the characters. If there is perfection in something so arbitrary and subjective then this is it. I personally believe the main reason most movies feel lucklaster nowadays is that: 1. The camera movement and cuts are happenng way to often 2. The CGI use is used more absurdly and its aparent 3. They do not use wide shots often, as if they constantly try to mislead u of the doubles and whatnot 4. They give A LOT emphasis on the constant action whereas simple pauses and exhales in between increase the tension and make the action more believable/suspensfull. For example you clearly take a look at the Terminator getting it's gun, reloading, aiming etc. He also is not in a hurry when he is going to shoot the frozen T-1000. These are key moments where not only the action is suspended in time it seems much more likeable to happen. It seems REAL and authentic, things that are lacking in movies nowadays. The only movie I can recall that I equally enjoyed and I consider it one of the top of it's class it's Dredd. Much less budget and staff but I think it contains one of the most consistant of well-crafted action scenes in the past 10 years. Anway, I hope you read my comment and enjoyed it, I really wanted to share my mind on those things! Peace!

3:20 - the forklift tine through the window of the truck! I've probably watched this movie 20 times and I've never noticed that. This is why the movie feels so great. It's packed with 100s of little details like this that you don't notice but your brain picks up.

If Terminator did NOT shoot the T1000, it would have taken him alot longer to thaw and continue the pursuit....but then we wouldn't have gotten the epic showdown

Little details that a lot of directors of action films ignore now-a-days. Watch the entire chase scene, notice that the direction of movement never completely switches. It's always from right to left. The shots of the vehicles going straight towards the camera or directly away are considered direction neutral. So what I mean by it not switching is that it never goes from right to left to left to right between scenes. It might seem like a minor thing, but actually it helps your mind keep track of where everyone is in relation to each other and it keeps the film going in a consistent direction. It's almost an art that is starting to get lost. A lot of modern films ignore this because it can be more difficult to get good shots of all of the actors' faces if they maintain this rule. And apparently star power and showing the actors' faces are more important than anything else now-a-days... But James Cameron is a master of the craft and when you watch his movies closely you see this.

Cameron’s mastery of techniques is so impressive: he seamlessly cuts between live action, rear projection on set, prosthetics, real actors, stunt people and miniatures, all driven by character. Masterclass.

This movie has that raw dark atmosphere that the later movies couldnt recreate . A true gem!

Whats incredible about Jim Cameron is his confidence of vision. His DP had said "I was hoping it turned out on screen the way we shot it" and Cameron replied with some surprise that "I knew it'd turn out exactly the way we shot it."

It's crazy to think this movie came out in 1991. It still looks legit even now.

It's not just the practical effects (really ramming the truck into the guard rail) or the actors (no one has that cold stare like Robert Patrick), it's also the music. Many movies today are sorely lacking in good music that puts you in the moment. Good composers know how to use music to not only set the mood, but play with your emotions and your feelings. Listen to this scene again and follow how the music continues to gradually increase in speed and beat, right up to the end when it finally stops. You might just be holding your breath when the terminator pulls out his pistol and delivers that line.
