Two of the finest saloon cars available to buy! Both all electric! But which is best?
We're doing a quick comparison of the Tesla Model 3 and the Polestar 2. We're looking at style, range, power, acceleration, design and price. There are loads of variants, so strap yourself in...Long Range, Single Motor, Dual Motor, Performance!
For many...the Supercharger network, efficiency and acceleration just make the Tesla a hands-down winner. But there are plenty of people out there that just don't sit well with the Tesla experience. Maybe they don't like the design and feel of the Tesla. And if they don't need that extra bit of range and acceleration, then the Polestar is the much better car for them.

Nice video and comparisons. Just ordered a Polestar 2 LRSM about 3 weeks ago. It's coming in July and really looking forward to getting it.

My wife owns the Model 3 SR+. I own the Polestar 2. We BOTH prefer driving the Polestar. I do by far. The Tesla is more efficient, but, they’re both efficient cars.

I wondered when I would see this comment. I knew there would be a Polestar and Tesla family, and while the Tesla is more efficient and longer ranged, the Polestar would be the preferred car to drive.

No denying the Tesla is a better EV with over a decade of experience, but i feel the Polestar is the better car. Build quality and range had us buy a Polestar (still awaiting delivery of our LRSM) over a more zippy M3. Volvo design, comfort and quality wins in this race

You can't argue that the Tesla is more efficient and a better road-tripper. However, IMHO, the Tesla Model 3 is far too common and bland... it's like the Prius of the EV world. The Polestar 2 is a great car, too. It's fast, fun and looks stunning inside and out (again, IMHO). Given how little road tripping I do, I'd much rather have something more unique. Plus, I found the Polestar 2 to be quieter on the highway and easier to drive without the near 100% reliance on the touch screen. Self-driving should be considered a driving assistant and the world should NOT be used as un-trained beta testers. I went with the DMLR Polestar 2 a year ago and still don't regret my decision!

Polestar all the way. Premium design and build versus the shoddy “get them built as quickly as possible” from the Tesla. For sure a better long term car.

Team EV6 here - owned a GT-Line AWD for a month now and love it. I didn't consider a Tesla for many reasons, QC issues, having to use the center display for everything, and the lack of a federal tax credit being a few. I tested the Polestar 2 twice. Really a very nice car, but in the end, elements of the interior design were lacking, as was the interior space. The EV6 hits the mark in so many areas (for me) that there really isn't another EV out there that was close.

EV6 is good but is hard to get without a dealer markup at the moment. And Kia/Hyundai are doing nothing to solve it. These 2 you can buy direct.

I think that’s a good rundown, as subjectively, I much preferred the P2 interior to the Kia. It felt like a sanctuary to me - but hey, we got EV options now! Love it

I have a 2021 Tesla Model Y LR and it’s been great. But the EV6 and Kia Ionic 5 are really solid EV’s - what’s not to like? They just need to make more of them. And the Polestar 2 is a great looking car too. I do worry that the current dealership model in the US is a big problem for all legacy auto moving forward.

Why do none of these comparison videos talk about safety features? It's very frustrating that all anybody wants to talk about are things (drag racing and long haul driving) nowhere near the top priorities for regular use.

Polestar 2 - for build quality, (with body panels that actually align), interior, customer service, and of course, the muscular looks over the amphorous 'fish face' of the Telsa. Undeniably, Tesla has a better charging network, but I have a home charger, so this is a moot point in my case. Mine is delivered soon and I my husband with his Model 3 is going to be peeved.

I test drove both. The Polestar 2 has one big advantage, its so much better to drive, especially om curvy roads. I havent bought any of them though.

The P2 is handsome, but I actually prefer the Model 3's looks. To each his own, I guess. As for reliability, Consumer Reports predicts that the P2 will be *less* reliable than other new cars. That said, they also rack the Model 3 at the bottom of the reliability pile. So with looks and reliability out of the way, the Model 3 blows away the P2 - more range, more power, more room, the supercharger network.

Pricewise polestar 2 Dual motor, is even cheaper than a standard range model 3 Price p2 Dual motor :45000 pound Model3. St range 48800 pound Model 3 lr. 55200 pound Model 3 performance 64100 pound Adding performancepack to polestar, plus pack an pro pack it will cost 57000 pound Acceleration of the p2 2023 will be 4.2 sec 0-60 mph and cost you 1500 pound more far a full option car, than a model 3 lr. By the Way i live in Denmark.

@@BestElectricVehicle Raw acceleration gets too much attention in my opinion. Both will require heavy braking to merge onto a freeway if you go full out on the ramp. Anywhere else on public roads, full out acceleration is boorish.

nobody mentions insurance, the more powerful it is, the higher will be the premium.

Insurance is very subjective...location, driveway, use case, age, previous record, etc. Hard to get into specifics like that when we're an international channel. Thanks for the feedback though, great to get people's thoughts on our videos!

better car? 😂 Tesla model 3 is energy efficient, has good software (like polestar), stable app and as of today even advantage with the fast charger development. But a better car? NO Tesla go home

@@Andi_mit_E chassis + suspension. materials, more supportive seat, more quiet ride, ... anyway both have their advantages. I would personally also agree P2 is better car while M3 has more efficient and more gadgets in infotainment.

Easy win for the Tesla. 1. I don’t think the Polestar looks good, looks like a compact sedan on stilts. 2. I don’t find its quality that great and reliability actually much worse than Model 3 according to Consumer Reports, which is interesting mo one talks about, I guess if its not negative news about Tesla you just ignore… and then the rest of the stuff which you addressed, efficiency, performance, charging. The Kia/Hyundai are closer, but we still don’t know about long term reliability, not as efficient as a Tesla, can’t update all systems like a Tesla can. For me it would a close one between EV6 and Tesla.

Let me rephrase, when there are bad news regarding Tesla, it is mentioned (which is fair) but for some reason when say a polestar 2 shows poor reliability (scored 28 out of 100 vs Mode 3’s 59) in consumer reports, no one even mentions it, and its still portrayed as better quality than a Tesla.

Since Polestar (and Volvo) are 100% Chinese, should I be concerned about my privacy when it comes to their electric cars? So can the Chinese government listen in and/or watch and analyze the data dump from the car?

Volvo Cars is listed on the stockmarket in Sweden. But yes Geely is major shareholder. But its not 100% Chinese owned. Its 51% and by 3 differnet chinese companies and funds. And HQ and management are in Sweden so I think its difficult for the Chinese goverment to sneak in something. Infotainment system is by Google. Volvo Cars owns 49,8% of Polestar. The rest is owned by Geely (chinese) and some companies from South-Korea.
