Pokhran range near Jaisalmer reverberated with thunderous explosions and applause, on 17 February 2024, as the Indian Air Force showcased its offensive capabilities through an enthralling and formidable display of its firepower. Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The event began with three Chetak helicopters trooping the National Flag and the Air Force ensign, flying past the grand stand with the National Anthem playing in the background. This was followed by a perfectly timed 'Sonic Boom' created by a Rafale aircraft. Two Jaguar aircraft flying at low levels followed the Rafale, taking high fidelity reconnaissance images of the area.

Stop this illogical excuses, the target was just a unmanned launch vehicle just like jet it was giving good heat by thrust and even in real scenario the fighter jet would fly in subsonic to supersonic speed with flares counter measure at that time this missile will be 0 use against enemies.

No man it was tested for accuracy not to destroy the test drone. Thus test missile doesnt contain any ammunition to explode at the proximity.

For that we have proper air defense. We are just recycling them which is r73. R73 is an air to air missile which is meant to shoot down fighter size target. Sometimes it can shoot small targets but not ideally

The target was engaged when it was leaving after delivering the payload and imo the misile wasn't even close enough to trigger the proximity fuse(it didn't have the explosives). It doesn't look right idk what it is but something went wrong there.

Something really wrong here, as missile approaches and misses the target camera is moved out to audience. Prabably camera men were instructed to change camera if something wrong with any activity.

It is used for destroying air targets...and it missed. Stop copping. R-73 fired by Tejas and r-73 fired by Samar AD both missed. Only mica fired by rafale destroyed target drone. That's what happens when army relies on Soviet museum relics.

These are Infrared sensors missiles which missed it's target from Samar system and also from TEJAS.....These supposed to be engage small RCS drones also not only fighter jets. Perhaps Infrared camera will provide detailed video of what actually happened.

My analysis for failure is the reason of hyper jugaad Some one attached two flares on two winglets of the drone And probably that confused the heat seeker and it missed as the whole drone looked like the hot bottom of nora fatehi on IR

these are reconfigured R73 & R27s for ground to air roles , not designed to be used as SAMs , & these are pretty old missiles ( but many countries have successfully reconfigured A2A missiles as SAM)

Tejas has also missed the unmanned tagret in this same exercise. Something is very wrong going on from past few decades, idk may be the way they select engineers from some selected so called top most creamy layer collages or whatever but the way things are going is not good we can't event make a good rifel. these look like russian r73 missile, which is air to air, but is short range infrared missile. Does not look like R27. And it missed, typical old crappy soviet equipment. India should get rid of it as fast as possible or sell it to poor african countries, trying make use of such equipment just because we have surplus would be bad. It would delay buying newer better systems.

Bekar hai .pehle research me paisa lagao , phir Saalo tak intazaar or time itna lagta hai ki bich me kharidna hi parta hai or jab project ka completion hota hai to pata chalta hai junk hai .
