Actually, the shows with legit actors (like Sandra) tend to be the best. They can learn and deliver lines while keeping a straight face much better than other guest hosts. All of Sandra's skits were great, which is really unusual. I stopped watching the Jonas kid episode about 2 and 1/2 skits in.

I watch a lot of SNL clips and a common complaint in the comments I notice is about cast members breaking character. Some don't while others do. What I think about is the fact that the show is live. All recorded shows have actors breaking characters, just watch their bloopers. The only difference is that they get to reshoot the scene. I imagine it has to be difficult concealing your laughter and they probably have some behind-the-scenes in-jokes that cause some to break as well. Laughter is infectious to me so it really doesn't bother me.
