I've said this a million times, and it'll never be enough: that Tele has the greatest tone I have ever heard, regardless of whatever amp you plug it into. You're indeed a lucky man, Dan!

Daniel has a zest to him. Maybe it's that Kiwi charm, but there's something so sweet and optimistic about his attitude. It's a joy hearing about this amp when there's genuine passion behind it.

El84s with a tube rectifier amps are definitely my favorite. So chewy and the best edge of breakup tones imo.

I'm from South Africa and getting good advice regarding guitar pedals and Tone is a rare thing! The Videos are Really great!!!! Now im in less trouble with the wife as well ha ha. The realness and advice Covers all aspects and would Recommend your channel to all guitarists.

Lovely sounding, it's really got the old Marshall growl, especially with humbuckers. 20w is a nice manageable size too.

I thought I made this comment already, but it seems to have disappeared. Anyway, 1) that amp sounds great. 2) I don't know if this is show worthy, but I'd love to see a show about cabinets and the differences between different setups and speakers. I've almost always played combo amps so never thought about it too much, and these days, with emulators and modeling, if there's an option for cab simulation, I've no idea where to begin.

Whiskers B another vote on the two notes torpedo cab...expensive? Yes, nothing compares though and with a reactive load or good preamp (I have an effectrode blackbird tube preamp), you can record silently. The two notes emulates speakers/cabs/mics and power amps...the reactive load would be if you were using a tube amp into the torpedo, the load box would safely line level the amp to plug direct. Lots of good info out there

+That Pedal Show Do not miss the BluGuitar Nanocab! I absolutely love mine, all 22 pounds of it, and it would be great way to introduce guitarists to the way ported cabs fight against Hoffman's Iron Law (i.e. small, loud, low: pick any two). By the way, I run my Nanocab with an Orange Jim Root Terror; I call the rig “A Movable Beast.”

Tasty! Ceriatone makes something like this which can be had, with the optional post phase inverter master volume control and the optional half power switch, for a bit more than US$1,000. This video has made that much more tempting than it once was.

Where was the reverb in the cleaner Sections coming from? Pedal in front of the amp or post production in the DAW? I assume that the amp has no efffects loop. I was wondering about the same thing in the Lazy J video.

Sounds great. I'm not sure if its a worthy topic, but I'd love to see a show on cabinets one day and hear the difference between say, a 4 * 12 with vintage 30's vs. a 1 * 12 with a greenback or one of the other "classic" speakers. Maybe it isn't enough material for a show- I've mostly played combo amps so never really thought too deeply about it. Even with modeling and emulators today I see the option of cab simulation and I don't know where to begin.

Beautiful tones, Daniel. It seems you're playing at very ear-friendly volume (looks to be just below 2) and barely warming the valves. So if you're not using overdrive, that must be your cleanest tone :) Or would it clean up more rolling off the guitar volume?

+Jeff Hebert I highly recommend finding a good guitar forum to join, as opposed to asking for gear advice in KZfaq comments. I am a moderator for Rob Chapman's forum, and I can vouch for the vast majority being good folks-notwithstanding various running gags.

Sounds amazing, but a pity it's so difficult to get them... do you think the 2061x is a close choice? Been looking at that for a while, the only stand-out difference is that it has a solid-state rectifier. Great content, thank you for your work!

Ceriatone has multiple versions of the 20W Plexi with the EZ81.

+Bernardo Faria Mick here. I LOVE the 2061. No master volume, but just a brilliant amp. Prefer it to the 1974 which is a bit too squashy for me personally. Mallard seems to sound a little less hard than a 2061, to my ears anyway. Cheers!

Dan, for the first 60 seconds, that's gain I could get just from the amp? No pedals? It looks like the amp volume us only on 2. Just trying to judge if the amp has enough gain. Thanks! Love the tone of this, particularly with your Les Paul!
