Fun fact, In the entire anime, this scene is the only time where we can hear Killua's footsteps. He was so focused on getting to Gon he didn't bother to silence his footsteps for the very first time.

Gon used “Rage Quit” *It was super effective* Pitou has fainted Gon has fainted Killua has gained depression and trauma

He basically made a nen deal/restriction just like Kurapika did to strengthen his chains against the spiders, except the deal was much more severe in Gon's case where he sacrificed all his nen and whatever he learned to become a temporary monster. In HxH, nen users can often strengthen their abilities with restrictions but the greater the restriction, the greater the power. It's a double edged sword. Also what Pitou used to attack Gon after he killed her is known as "Nen after death" which is nen that can be directed at the enemy in any way after death if the user feels immense hatred towards that person and in Pitou's case, she's so worried about Gon killing the king/Meruem that "Nen after death" was enabled. The writing in this arc is so beautiful, Togashi shows that Light (Gon) and Dark (Meruem) switch positions and it's amazing. Meruem starts caring for life and starts loving while Gon goes insane and loses his humanity to become a monster.

Pitou: He’s is already dead, I can’t heal him. Gon: *So you have chosen death.*

Gon couldn’t find his dad so he became dad.

Pitou was selfless like literally, she was bouta get clapped and all she thought about was king's safety. Her resolve and devotion to king were so strong she literally came back to life just to make sure Gon wouldn't pose danger for Meruem.

Pitou was using nen after death. If someone's resolve is very strong their nen can manifest to do the job after death and it becomes much powerful.

This transformation is basically the culmination of gon’s character throughout the entire show. In earlier arcs and throughout this one, gon has been seen to make very childlike, immature decisions based on a juvenile sense of morality. Many characters such as zepile, wing, bisky, etc. have called into question how simple minded he is and how gon doesn’t care about right and wrong, but moreso what is important to him (like a child). Togashi purposely made this aspect of his character stand out in the very ADULT ruthless world of hxh. In this arc, we see gon descend into morbid madness, yet he still remains a childlike hope that kite is still alive. When all of this is crushed at pitou’s revelation of kite’s death, gon loses that childlike innocent thinking, hence that ADULT GON transformation. EDIT: yes I understand the surface-level nen condition gon put on himself. I’m talking about the metaphorical depth behind this transformation.

Employee of the Month Pitou: "Now I know he smashed my head like a melon on the freeway after I forced him to use so much power that there's a 80% chance he's crippled for life after this BUT I think I can get that up to 100%" *Rises from the dead to force Gun to use more energy*

Through the entire anime it's said that Gon can be a "monster", and this is it. What he does here is a vow/restriction "I don't care if this is the end, so I will use everything" He is trading everything (his potential, his life and nen) in exchange for the enough aura to defeat Pitou. Because it's too much aura for his "child body" his body also matures to an age that can actually take the amount of aura he is gaining.

YES, finally, and ooo that little Intro addition was sick. This is my favorite transformation in anime history of all time

It's not years shaved, it's that Gon traded in his potential. Remember when Wing told Gon not to get power the way Kurapika did? Well he didn't listen so he mature himself to the point where he had enough strength to "win".

So for some explanation on some of all this shit that just happened. 1: what Gon did was to use his nen to force his body to evolve to a point where he could beat Pitou. Problem is, that is gonna have a MASSIVE consequence that we yet don’t know what is exactly yet. 2: Pitou was already dead as her head had been smashed, but her nen got that death power up and controlled her dead body as a puppet.

And this isn't even the most emotional episode of this arc, imo.

I've watched a lot of reactions to HxH, and I'm surprised you of all people, didn't catch how Pitou was able to fight after being decapitated, considering you were one of very few, if only person to focus in on what Phinks said at the end of the York New City ark, but this episode is so insane, I could see it slipping past you. before i got into hxh...the first picture of gon I seen was the adult form. I was confused on why he was a kid for 130 episodes. lol

This first time an anime scene made me cry in a while, this transformation was HEAVY.

if you read this my boy, this is the result of gon going through all 5 stages of grief

Kite taught Gon to go for the head in their encounter together. So, he kinda just kept putting full power Jajanken blasts on Pitou's dome, and only her dome, for a while. His nen potential was always said to be incredibly high. What he did was sacrifice all of that for the power to kill Pitou. Pitou was worried about him going after the King, but he literally didn't care about anything but killing Pitou right then and there. One of Pitou's Nen abilities was to control things with her nen marionette. The same marionette could be used to increase her physical abilities significantly. Since she was worried about Gon killing the King, her ability took over her dead corpse and tried to go for Gon, taking his arm. What a lot of people believe, however, is that Gon intentionally allowed her to take it, since she'd taken Kite's arm in the first encounter.

Bro, I just found your channel with this video, and it's possibly the best way to get into your reactions, when I see people react to HxH, THIS episode is what brought everything down for me! I watched it for the first time at the start of this year, I ended up binge watching it in 4 days, I saw 130 before work and then the whole day was a mess in excitement! By far the best anime series! Can't wait to see more!
