After 30 years on the market, the #JeepGrandCherokee finally gets a plug! The 2022, #GrandCherokee4xe uses the same 2.0L turbo engine and electric motor combination as the Wrangler #4xe which means it gives the newest #GrandCherokee up to 375 HP and 470 lb-ft of torque and up to 25 miles on electric only range. We clocked a 0-60 sprint in under 6 seconds and in the fully loaded #SummitReserve trim, this Jeep can go head-to-head with some fancy European luxury SUV's.

I didn’t used to care much about dodge/jeep, but after getting one I’ve observed they build stuff people actually want and can use. I’m constantly impressed with how they don’t force you to do what they think you should do instead of what you want to do. Want to drive it in gas? Go ahead. Electric only? Sure.

Excellent! And it's about time. Still not great MPG but significantly better than the old ICE. With 25 miles of range on the E-motor, I can get to work, plug-in, and get home again without using any gas.

The car industry is just going around in circles , even with full EVs, their range only gets better because they keep adding batteries, which makes them harder to manufacture which means hardly anyone will own them. Ford already cancelled personal orders for the Mach E this year.... Nice

Jeep really set up a challenging off road track run & Sofyan's enjoyment of "steering the course" certainly added to this vid ! 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee exterior design looks good in white/black as well as in maroon. Interior is first rate premium look. Exterior looks so much better than Grand Wagoneer ... Rear turn lights in white lense should be amber/orange as much more visible & safer = even better if front & rear turn signals are sequential ... Rear hatch should be two piece like in BMW X7 & Range Rover = more practical & versatile - same for Explorer, 4runner, Pathfinder etc ...

I am looking forward to the new hurricane engine option... High output in the Srt ~510 hp and 500 ft/lbs standard output with ~420 hp and 450ish ft/lbs. From a twin-turbo 3.0L inline 6. Seems like it will be an excellent replacement for the old but tried and true 5.7L V8. Jeeps says the high output is supposed to it a couple of MPGs more than the v8 (which v8 they don't say). But we will see. I do worry about the power vs. displacement, but it should be better than the complexities of the hybrid system., for which you only get 22-24mpg anyways with regular driving, so if the new engine can get 20ish mpg seems like a much better option. with Jeep/FCA/Stellantis (terrible name) you have to pick your poison in terms of questionable reliability, unfortunately.

I'm understanding that the 4xe utilizes lithium ion batteries. Lithium ion batteries typically have a battery life cycle of about 800 cycles, after which the the battery's capacity is reduced to 80%. Lithium iron phosphate batteries have about 3,500 cycles before deteriorating to the 80% capacity mark. Am I understanding this correctly?

Hello KZfaq world and Mr. Bey: I am, like many others I suspect, due for a new car. I have always liked the idea of a Jeep (capability, towing, room) and the 4xe now feels like I can get around the city without using much gas. I would love to hear opinions about whether anyone feels that the summit reserve is worth the money or not? And can anyone comment on Jeep reliability? I have a toyota Rav 4 and I'm quite tempted to just try and find a Rav 4 prime....

@user-qg2tl3jk9z 2 жыл бұрын
It's important to know how good a vehicle accelerates, especially in 2022 when vehicles in general are getting quicker. Plus, it's a safety feature. It also gives a better understanding of its fuel efficiency relative to its power. What's the point of it having a high EPA, if it's going to be slow as a snail? The real world mpg would be worse,you'd be burning more oil, and in longterm engine durability would suffer, as you'd be constantly revving the crap out of it to get it up to speed.

Statistically speaking, 87% of jeep renegades on the road are at 300,000+ miles without breakdown... 63% of first Gen compass's are at 300,000 miles without breakdown and 82% of 2nd Gen compass's are at 200,000 miles without breakdown... 89% of jeep grand cherokees are at 300,000+ miles without breakdown... 73% of jeep cherokees are at 300,000 miles without breakdown, 61% of jeep patriots are at 300,000 miles without breakdown, and 94% of jeep liberties are at 400,000 miles without breakdown... Wranglers old and new are also everywhere without break down, I believe 82% of the old models, and 25% of the new models past 300K without break down.... do not rely on JD power ratings, rely on others.

No full electric, no money from me. The gas hike in prices are showing the weakness of having a gas car, or a hybrid. Electric is inevitable and is the new standard going forward. Anything less then that is a pass for me.

Electric vehicles are better suited for the city environment at the moment. EVs still aren't practical for the suburban and rural areas.

@@gary.s7759 I own a 2020 Nissan Leaf SLPlus that has an EPA of 215 miles of range but I average 250 miles of range. I live in the suburbs, with a round trip to work of 60 miles. I am doing just fine. No range anxiety what so ever. There are many EV's out there that get a higher EPA range vs my Leaf, averaging over 250 miles of range and others getting well over 300 miles of range. The Tesla Model 3 is the best selling EV in America at the moment, and I am sure not only City folk buy them. I see tons of them in the suburbs. So I have to ask, how are EV's not practical for suburban areas? Maybe you have a point concerning rural areas, but suburban? Electric vehicles were "better suited" for city living when the range was 100 or less. That is NOT the case anymore as range has increased significantly and charging stations are popping up every where. And I can do one better, most EV drivers can charge at home. How many gas only car owners can fill up at home? I bet not many.

@@What-ei5nz My wife drives a 2019 Chevy Bolt, great little egg for her and will probably trade in for the 2022 Bolt this year, but I can certainly understand it not being practical for many people, particularly renters who can't charge at home. I personally will never own an EV and have zero interest in them even though there's one in the garage parked next to my BMW, but to each their own.
