Had a 10th gen sport and now and 11th gen exl. I must say the 11th gen feels like I’m driving a luxury car. Handling is still great. Full tank says 560 miles on full. Engine is quiet. Front has grown on me. The back end is way better now. Seats are so comfortable. Infotainment system is 10x better. All digital gauges. Give it 1 more year and the boring comments will change to love.

I LOVE this all new Accords styling. It’s styling is clean, more fluid, which accentuates the strong body length character line. The styling is more grown up; refined; handsome, yet still sporty, more so than the previous generation. It’s SEXY. BEAUTIFUL car, with a bold stance on the road. I really love it ! Great critique and review. Thank you-Tim.

I just got the 2023 EXL hybrid, and I absolutely love this car! 💯💯💯 You have three common drive modes economy normal sport, and individual... you can customize wether or not you want a sport steering or normal, everything to even the power train... it's definitely a very luxurious feel, even though it's not a touring... for it being just over 33k there isn't that much differences from the top trim...a very nice relaxing ride with excellent fuel economy... 51 city 48hwy and 44 over all... great car! 12.3 inch screen!

The previous generation Accord was eye-catching, modern, and stylish without being over the top like Hyundai. I was a bit freaked out by the speeds you were taking those corners at. Then I saw the button for the heated steering wheel and realized you were in Canada, hence kmh not mph. It handles pretty good though. I have the same car / color you drove on the test, less the heated steering wheel that is not available in the US. BTW, have put 1300 miles on the car, averaging 43.5 mpg on mix of city / highway, mostly on eco drive mode. I'm pleased with that.

I've got a 2015 v6 sedan. I just came back from a business trip (leaving from the mid-west and heading east), topping my tank off in Eastern Illinois before I left and then stopping again for gas just East of Pittsburgh. The gas light was on, with 43 miles of estimated range remaining. My car was packed with clothes and the necessary gear to make a 6 week stay comfortable. I'd love to have some of the tech in the newer cars, but for performance and fuel economy, I really can't justify replacing what I have. They need to bring back the v6 and pair it up with a plug-in hybrid system. It should have 400hp with 40-50 miles of EV only range.

I've owned the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring for several months and love the heck out of this thing. Surprisingly luxurious, especially for a Honda. I will be the first to admit that the exterior is the very definition of bland--almost identical to my previous 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid. But I live in Houston and personally think driving around in a car sporting a big "steal me" sign is ill-advised. It's the INTERIOR where this thing shines. The ride, the technology and the excellent fit and finish make this car a real winner for me. That, plus a freakin' 44 MPG make the gas wars something I comfortably ignore.

I agree that modern cars are much larger than in the past, but it doesn't always mean that you get a corresponding amount of backseat room. Generally speaking, I find it difficult to get adequate backseat (and head) room in any car now, especially since manufacturers will pivot that feature onto their SUVs. I haven't seen the new Accord in person but the backseat room looks quite impressive and actually seems to match the proportions of the exterior, so kudos to Honda for that.

@@baldygrey2779 Yeah it's so dumb if manufacturers to remove features from their cars and just have them on SUVs and wonder why SUVs are selling better, although now that I think of it it must be on purpose because SUVs are more profitable than cars and they would like to sell more profitable vehicles the missing spare tire is somewhat of a universal thing going away now sadly and I think that's a mixture of cost cutting and wheels and tires getting bigger so fitting them in the cargo area will make the cargo area smaller, which is what they don't want, they'd rather have a missing spare than smaller cargo area, heck, in the RAV4 you can fit a full size tire in the spare area, the load floor is just a bit higher

They made the car 2.7" longer, but only .4" has been added to rear seat legroom. Other than that, interior and trunk dimensions are unchanged. The new length made the Accord about 1" too long for my garage, so my string of 7 straight leased high end Accords has come to an end. I switched to the Sport Touring CRV hybrid, and haven't regretted it for a moment. Same drivetrain, except my CRV has AWD and weighs more, so its mileage is not as good. The top trim CRV is quieter than my previous 2020 Touring Accord. Off-the-line torque is great in Honda's hybrid, and the CRV corners very surprisingly well. The seat heights for old, stiff knees are infinitely superior to the Accord upon getting in or out...just perfect, in fact. And, yesterday, I was able to get my broken bike into my CRV w/its 76 cu ft rear and get it to a bike repair shop, no muss, no fuss. All in all, I wouldn't even consider trading my Sport Touring CRV for a Touring Accord. (although I miss the HUD and ventilated seats). Did I hear you say this Accord has no Sirius/XM?? I've got it in my CRV, and would hate losing it. Yikes.

Except for being what your granddaddy used, I don't see any reason why the shifter+trigger is better than the buttons. Advantages of the buttons: 1) You don't need to activate two devices (the trigger and the shifter) to change settings. 2) Once you learn them (2 days to a week), the settings you need, when you shouldn't look, are easier to find without looking. Swipe your hand down the array with slight pressure with your button finger, and it falls right on the "R" button. If you know about where the D button is (with less accuracy than what is needed for the shifter+trigger, since you have to get your whole hand on it correctly to push the trigger), it has a large raised rim that you find naturally, and that guides you to the center of the button. 3) You don't need to move thru intermediate settings to get to the one you want (i.e., "count stops or clicks"). 4) They are less in the way. As in, not in the way at all. 5) They allow several "automatic shifts" to occur. When you turn the car off, open a door, or any of several "illegal shift" operations, it shifts into park (or sometimes neutral) by itself. Advantages of the shifter: 1) They are arranged in the same order. 2) Peer pressure suggests you are "cooler" if you say you like it better.

I have a Honda Accord 10th gen with the buttons. They are annoying. Still to this day I have to look down and REALLY make sure I put it in park, as neutral feels exactly the same as park and is located in the same area. There were occasions where I did accidentally put it in neutral, intending for park, but luckily I realized in time. It doesn't shift into park if I open the door. An actual shifter gives you resounding feedback of what gear you're in. There are people who've actually died because of these electronic shifter designs and I wish they would go away. It's a very hazardous and non-intuitive way to control one of the most important and potentially dangerous functions in the whole car. It's not a matter of being "cool", it's a matter of public safety.

For a 40k car, they cut a lot of corners with this car. No night light in the cabin, no panoramic sunroof, no auto start on the key fob, a small wheel for better fuel on an EV, a blah body style, and the charging pad orientation will cause your phone to slide around when you turn like a 19-year-old, gloss black at the gear shifter to get scratch on the first day. The headlight doesn't turn in the direction you're turning into. Yes, I'm nitpicking. For better fuel, you lose all these things, but you get a B+ sound system that I like, and the same Google you have on your phone. In the 2023 Toyota Camry XSE, you get everything this car is missing for the same price. But the Bose system, the EV 3 engine system, a quiet cabin, digital display, and Goole are good trades lol. I guess they will fix these things in the next 3 years of this platform. I'll wait until this car depreciates before I buy one.

EV more is only for under 5 mph like parking lots at malls or bumper to bumper traffic. As soon as you ptess on the gas out gets of EV mode. This is not a plug in Hybrid. It only has a small bateau that doesn't last long unless you charge it up with refen braking or engine charging that uses had. There is no MPG rating for EV mode since you won't get much range in that mode. 😂

I have a 2018 2.0T Touring. I love my car! New updated tech and amenities on the new model notwithstanding, welcome to the more boring Accord. Gone is the character that made the Accord different than other family sedans on the road. It now looks like every other car on the road - Mustang or Taurus grill indeed. The new Accord looks VAG - and NOT in a good way. Now as an added bonus I cannot even get the more powerful engine. What a missed opportunity!!! Most reviewers seem to be really trying to be even remotely excited about this new Accord. One reviewer said the looks are "not offensive" - wow... now there's a ringing endorsement! I'm not just stating this from the reviews I've seen. I've seen one in person at my local Honda dealer and folks it does NOT get better in person. It's strange (maybe not so strange) that if one wants to get the driving excitement I currently enjoy in my 2018 one must buy an Accura if one wants to stay in the Honda family......It seems as though the Honda engineers have said with this generation, "You know that driving excitement thing we offered in the 2.0T equipped models - especially with the Touring, we were just JOKING! No fun for you!" This feels like a step backwards!!!! Hey Honda: hope you are reading this... in baseball parlance, the 10th gen was a home run. This generation feels like a weak grounder to the pitcher only to be thrown out at first. No way I will spend my hard earned $ on this dog. I'll pass!

Same chassis, same suspension w slight geometry adjustments and slightly more adhesives I'm sure. The last gen had laminated front door glass in addition to the windshield...

OK, here's the deal. The driver's seat area is SMALLER than the previous generation!! How do we know? My partner had a 2020 Accord Touring. His lease was up this month. We went to our local Honda dealership (real jerks, but for another post) and sat in a Hybrid Sport (no Touring models available for weeks!). Can't fit into the car. The driver's seat is sitting on a power seat track that is 2 inches shorter, to make room for the hybrid lithium batteries under the floorboard. My partner is 6'3" and knees bent in an uncomfortable position. Salesman was trying to make a deal (only $2000 ABOVE MSRP) and we left!!!! He is now driving a 2023 Toyota Camry XLE AWD and loves the ride and comfortable seats (he's not a tech Geek who doesn't care about the new bells and whistles).

Who uses a hybrid to go up and down a mountain on the reg. I face something of a giant a few times a month. It has taken out cars and trucks for as long as I can remember. My apprehension comes from a childhood memory of my mother, sister and I being stranded untill late into the night. I could see my mother's normal calm demeanor change and joyful eyes become fearful as darkness fell. Eventually my father and Uncle arrived and suddenly everything was fun again. I have heard that hybrids after completing their battery can struggle on long steep grades. Like the one to reach Gorman California.

The problems I find with the 2023 Honda Accord: 1. No All Wheel Drive is available 2. No heated steering Wheel is available 3. No spare tire is available 4. No XM Radio (in USA). If a 2023 or 2024 car missing all of these features is fine for you, then get one. Hopefully, by the time 2025 comes around these glaring deficiencies will be resolved.
@RoadsUntraveled
@RoadsUntraveled 10 ай бұрын
In Canada a heated leather steering is standard on Sport Hybrid and above. I'm guessing because it's generally colder up here. Even though half of the year half of the USA is much colder than it is here in Vancouver. Most people in most scenarios don't benefit from AWD, that's just the truth. I'd still like to see it though.
@9546aw
@9546aw 10 ай бұрын
In the US No amount of money can make a heated steering wheel available. I have it on my car now (a 2015 Chrysler 200) and it is a surprise and delight to use on a cold day. The lack of a heated steering wheel is not fatal to me considering a Honda, it is disappointing. What about NO Spare Tire? A few years back I had a 2009 Cadillac CTS without a spare, just a can of shaving cream to use in case I got a flat. Three days after I picked up the Cadillac I ran over a piece of metal in the road. It cut a 1 inch gash in the sidewall. When I tried to use the shaving cream it squirted out of the tire. I pressed the Onstar button for help and it took 4 hours for any help to arrive and when they towed the car they did damage to the transmission. I will NEVER buy a car that does not have a spare tire again, so help me god. I listen to XM Radio all the time. Why can't I get XM Radio on a Honda? Regarding the lack of 4 wheel drive, My house is located on a hill and on a snowy and icy day i really need the 4 wheel option to get in and out. So until comments 1, 3 & 4 are resolved, Honda is on my AVOID List. I could live without #2 by putting on gloves.

They put bigger 19" wheels on it. They sound let you choose which wheel size to use if you have a hybrid and want the better gas mpgs. 17s will get better mpgs but the car isn't a sexy with 17s. Just leave it in ECO mode and I'll beat the ratings if you know how to coast to re-gen and ,dont punch the gas pedal and use the paddles to regenerate better to use more battery instead of gas.

I have owned 3 accords. No doubt a very good ride. But took a pass on this one because of the bland exterior. Also too much gloss black interior trim...always a cheap look. And although people get really excited over an infotainment screen, in this case it is a bit overwhelming for this sedan. Plus that tiny volume button is a head shaker and again screams cheap.
