Auntie Junie Pederson has spent many decades cooking at stock camps at cattle stations all around Australia's wild Kimberley region. In this video she and her old friend Roy Wilson make one of Junie's famous Kimberley dampers.

Auntie Junie giving poor Uncle Roy the rounds of the kitchen. Making so much from so little. She reminds so much of my late Nanna Annie-Beryl from Sandy Flat NSW. Love you!

Good job, adding the powdered milk - I haven't seen that since the '60's in far west Qld. Also enjoyed the natural way Junie tipped the little bit of left-over water back in the pot and cleaned the butter off the paper - most people these days would just chuck it away. Good on you and thanks for sharing.

I have an important question that's been keeping me up at night: Who is the cook and who is the chef? On one hand, auntie Junie says "That's the way we do it, Roy", exerting authority. Yet, on another occasion, Roy is heard saying "This is how the professionals do it" highlighting his high level of knowledge and expertise. Are they both the cook? Are they both the chef? If this was the case, it would be called the cooks and the chefs. Or the cooks or the chefs? Why is life so hard?
