Official HD Video for "Let's Talk About Me" by The Alan Parsons Project
"`Let's Talk About Me' was the lead track from `Vulture Culture' - a 1985 studio album by The Alan Parsons Project. The lead vocal is sung by David Paton but the video is very much the story of a woman’s frustration at her husband’s lack of attention. The regular trio of Ian Bairnson, David Paton and Stuart Elliott feature on guitars, bass and drums with APP founder and songwriter Eric Woolfson on piano and Chris Rainbow singing backing vocals.

Great video that I remember well from childhood. I wasn't a full blown Alan Parsons Project freak until they were suggested to me by John Woloshcuk from Klaatu 23 years ago and I went out and bought a bunch of their records. The Pilot connection helped immensely. No comments about it so I'll comment. This song is sung by David Paton of Pilot and the guitar player in APP was Ian Bairnson from Pilot. This is the way these big projects should be cut the pretensions and write good creative songs.

All she wanted was to have dinner with her man, but the TV always brought relationships down in the 80's. The same is true in today's world, only now it is smart phones right? I would have compromised when the cloths came off or when she was going first base with the burglar. Excellent song and video.

Not only an iconic 80s song, but the video is a great social commentary of the social tension between the sexes back then. Guy with simple needs wants to be left alone to do simple things; nuanced woman wants more satisfaction in her relationship and will try anything and everything to make it work until she realises it's a dead-end and finds something better.

When Supertramp singer left the group Alan Parson an Co. purposely made the song because they wanted to suggest the singer of this song as a replacement so that Supertramp would continue to xist as a group. That never came about. I read this a few months ago online. That s why it sounds so much like Supertramp

I've been a fan of both Alan Parsons Project and Supertramp since the late 70's, but have never thought of any similarities. But now that you've made think of it, they do have a lot of sax in common. :)

3:00 This has always driven me nuts. WHERE did they get footage from the movie "2010", even just a scrap of it? The film debuted on Dec. 7 1984. That shot DOES appear in the trailer, but even the trailer wouldn't have been shown on cable TV until at least a year after the music video was filmed. I'm not saying it's bizarre but I've always suspected there's an interesting story about how it came about.

The single for the song actually came out in 1985, so it's possible this was filmed AFTER that trailer would have been put on TV.

Sean Umphlet Also, there's clips of BYU winning the 1984 National Title which happened on December 21 1984, which was at the end of the year. So yeah, its more likely this video was made in 1985.
