My wife and I drove 200 miles to get to him as he clung on with my Mum by his bedside.Twenty minutes after arriving and as I finished the song,he'd stopped struggling and was at peace. Hi Jayy. This song is George Harrison’s all the way. He wrote, sang and played most of the instruments. Paul played bass and added backing vocals and hand claps. And of course Ringo played drums and added hand claps too. John wasn’t around for these recording sessions. If memory serves me I think he might have been recovering from a car accident, but I’m not sure about that. Great reaction! Hope it stays up! I love George Harrison!

Written and sung by George Harrison . On July 7 1969, only 3 Beatles performed on the songs recording. John Lennon was recovering in hospital after being injured in a car crash. I wonder how Johns voice singing the middle harmonies (instead of George adding the harmony) would have changed the songs textures. Lovely reaction JAYY, Best wishes, RNB

Excellent info red. From 1967 John played guitar and sang on Its All Too Much. Sang 1 line of harmony on The Inner Light. Provided his "Goons" like harmony on Piggies and played a the lap steel guitar on For You Blue. Johns work on Something (though not very apparent on the instrumental side of the recording) was the most attention he gave to a George song since Taxman back in the spring in 1966. John helped steer some of George's melodies he hadn't yet locked down. Johns help directly assisted George write his first bonafide masterpiece, Something. Cheers, RNB

"Here Comes The Sun" starts off side two of The Beatles Abbey Road album. It leads into the famous 16-minute medley marking the last time the group recorded together. Sticklers will claim the medley begins with "You Never Give Me Your Money", but I think it works better starting with "Because" instead. Check out the medley when you can: "Because", "You Never Give Me Your Money", "Sun King", "Mean Mr. Mustard", "Polythene Pam", "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window", "Golden Slumbers", "Carry That Weight", "The End", and for kicks, the hidden track, "Her Majesty".

The story about this song: During the spring of 1969 I believable, George Harrison was going through writers block, due to the toll the beatles were facing with the record industry. So Harrison took a day off from Apple's (their record label) office and visited his good mates Eric Clapton's house later on that day, during his visit he felt free and in love with music again, he grabbed one of Clapton's guitars and walked off into his garden, and eventually he wrote 'Here Comes The Sun'

This was the opening track of side two of "Abbey Road", which, although not the last studio album the Beatles released as a group, it was the the last that they recorded as a group.

Hey it's an easy mistake to make because George Harrison's Voice is so much like John's it's a little bit higher but their voices are very similar in fact that's why they sound so good together when they harmonize it's really amazing their voice is really chili that's what makes the Beatles so great what's the word the whole is greater than the sum of its parts he wrote the song over at Eric Clapton's house Eric Clapton talks about it you know how wonderful it was to hear him he was out on a patio near the garden and he starts writing a song on his guitar and Eric was just flabbergasted there's that one part where I there's a guitar part and they've got the Leslie on the guitar which is usually they use those for Oregon's it's a fan that moves real quick in front of a speaker to change the sound the instrument usually it's in Oregon but in this case it was the guitar I love George he would I guess he was just one of the nicest persons you could ever meet I met his sister she was really nice all right my dear you take care that was a great reaction

I don't know about hearing a woman's voice on a Beatles song. It was rare enough to hear George Harrison's voice on a Beatles song! Obviously he'd been singing harmony since the outset, but it's only in their later years that the clouds part and he steps out into the sunlight.. see what I did there?...

the beatles amazingly had 39 top 40 hits in 8 years.. they made acid rock popular opened the door for janis joplin, jefferson airplane, the stones, the who and hendrix... no one before or since has taken the music world over.. so many great musicians of the 60s and 70s got to be great because of the beatles.. and unlike most, they never slowed down pumping out great music... the song many consider their best ever is “Let it Be” and that song is on their last album.. this song is on their next to last album “Abbey Road”... u can listen to any of those 39 top 40 hits and u’d know the song, plus many others and all 4 members of the band had music success after the beatles

A lot of hospitals in the UK, Europe and the US played this over their tannoy during the last year whenever a Covid-19 patient was discharged.

Check out the Here Comes the Sun video from 2019. It is absolutely beautiful. Harrison wrote some fantastic songs, but two of his most magnificent are Here Comes the Sun and Something. Just glorious!

It's George singing, and he wrote it. It's interesting how simple it is -- simply celebrating the sun coming up.

If you're not aware of the story, one of the contributing factors of the breakup of the Beatles was George's growing dissatisfaction with not getting his songs on the albums. His song writing was blossoming and he was stacking up tunes. When the Beatles broke up, he was the first one out the gate with an album and it won album of the year at the Grammys. In fact it was the most successful album of any solo Beatle. It's worth checking out, ' All Things Must Pass '.

It sounds like George is singing to himself while he's doing odd jobs at home! No big drama, no bursting a bloodvessel, just a great feelgood song
