@RahmanNewman-uy9pd I mean the only reason they couldn't really talk about much, is for the same reason they couldn't talk about Arcane even though they were really excited to do so. That's because Joey always wants to be different and a contrarian, who wants to not watch/read things that are hyped/popular. This exact conversation was with the 4th John Wick movie. Connor and Garnt were switched on that discussion. Garnt skipped the third movie so he did not get any plot of the 4th movie and said he just watched John Wick for the action, where Connor was defending everything about it and understood the plot. This time Garnt understood the story, but Connor did not. And Joey had a very similar opinion, "I did not watch it.....but for some reason, I still am going to give my opinion as if I had watched and make arguments as if I had watched".

@@mmehedii4906 Yes but regardless is almost the same situation, while their stances are switched. Someone really into a series, another person who watched the latest content but does not remember very well the story ( in JW case because Garnt skip the 3rd movie)and some one who has not watched the current/ending or keep up with the series. Its the same thing, I guess the only difference, is that discussion between Connor and Garnt in JW is that they… actually talk much more about it and their feelings on it and explore martial arts movies, compare this video of AoT finale where is just Garnt trying to discuss Aot and then directing to the topic ‘does the ending if series matter?’, in order to have a topic to discuss. So its close to the same situation but… at the same time its close but no cigar. Well on that topic of AoT, did you like its ending? I did! But I kind of understand if many did not, its quite a hard ending to swallow. It pulls a Lelouch ending plus 60% of genocide of the world’s population for the sake of the few people you love. What did you thought about it?

@realauthority202 Yeah, I agree Joey should have at least finished the show, but I don't think Connor needed to re-watch all of season 1 just to be able to discuss the show. I actually liked the dynamic of one person being well-versed who has re-watched everything (Garnt), discussing with a fan of the show who has been casually watching it when it comes out (Connor). If they all had just re-watched the whole series, I guess it could be interesting. But I prefer if they all discuss their differing experiences and knowledge about the show. That way, you get the insight/commentary from someone who die-hard knows everything about the show, and someone who was more casual about it.

To be fair to both sides, Eren is the chosen one, but only because he chose himself to be the chosen one, and at that point the chosen one is more a metaphor for trauma and stuff like that, because he thinks he is the monster because he has both acted like the monster in the past, he must act like the monster to even have a chance to save the Paradisians, he always had the selfish dream to explore either a world in general or an empty world and bigoted humans were an excuse, and because Eren feels that he has to contribute or else. And even then, it did not change much about humans, just that Eren secured peace for these Paradisians and Eldians. Eren is both a main character that is chosen and a side character.

Actually although I don’t agree with a lot of things on this podcast, I actually get Connor’s point. When rumbling happens, it’s obvious how it will end. Spoiler alert: if you did something like rumbling, there is no way you can remain alive in the end. It’s that obvious. And if he remains alive, that won’t be a good ending because there’s no reasons or ways to justify his action. That’s what rumbling did to story. There will be Eren’s fans out there saying what he did was right. No! If you bring that level of destruction, you won’t be alive of course.
@OhTaco77
@OhTaco77 6 ай бұрын
I think Connor would have preferred a full on 100% Rumbling, haven't seen a story that goes full genocide, only Eldians left and their memory got erased so the kids will grow up thinking they are the last people on Earth like in the books. Now that's a controversial ending isn't it 😂 If u do something either fully commit to it or not do it, doing it half-ass will result in being called mid.

The rumbling not proceeding 100% was Eren's plan. His friends stopping him from completing the rumbling was his goal. It is as simple as that. Do not take everthing at face value. While joey is on another level he criticized the ending AOT finale without even watching it... I'm personally okay and don't really care about others opinion about the shows I watch. The boys read Manga as well, so you can't expect them to stay up to date with every show. The topic of this episode is not about the ending of AOT, though it became that because most of the audience will not shut up about it. It's easy to get turned away from a show when you have the show run inconsistently for 9 years and add the toxicity of the audience.

I'll be honest, this is an extremely unprofessional episode even in Trash Taste standard. You have one of the biggest anime finishing after 10 years of running, along with one of the biggest controversial endings in manga/anime history. Any anituber would love to debate further and express their thought. Here you have the biggest platform with the most renown anitubers: One of them does not do his homework for childish reason and the other spent too much time pigeonholing into single aspect rather than exploring the story and presentation as a whole. If they're willing to do their bear minimum in the debate, whether it is good or bad I'm sure the anime community would appreciates their view. I think most people here agree that Garnt is the only one actually want to talk about the show. What's a Trash Taste when you only have one person that actually talks?

I got so excited to watch AOT when they announced the final season only to find out later that it would be followed by another season. For this to not even be the last release as well, kills all hype for a show like this. I'm not super into the anime community anymore, but when Final Season (Part 1) was coming out, it was all anybody would talk about even with multiple other animes that could contend with anime of the year airing at the same time, that gravity and attention got flushed away by being broken up into multiple releases. It got so bad that I didn't even know there were hour long special episodes airing until after they aired, and didn't even watch the final 2 episodes until everything officially finished.

AoT fans need to chill, personally I watched it and liked it but this just describes the different paths of AoT fans. Garnt who loved it all the way through, Connor who watched it out of obligation and kinda fell out of it, and Joey who completely fell out of the series. This is completely normal lmao, its been running for 10+ years being on and off for a few years which can make people fall out of the show. From watching a clip from Connor's stream, the topic of deciding to discuss the ending of AoT happened minutes before the recording, not properly planned, which is why they changed the title. But my God yall need to chill, take everything they say with a grain of salt, especially when it comes to Joey and Connor since its known that they play things up for the camera for extra attention. People coping that this is still an anime podcast needs to get a reality check because its not, Garnt is the only one who watches anime, Connor and Joey will watch 1 per season but hate talking about it because it feels like its an obligation to watch anime. Even with the amount of power AoT has in the anime scene, I fully expected these takes from Joey and Connor. Normally when I say "this is the worst trash taste episode" it's for something silly like food takes or whatnot, but this was one of the most painful episodes I've ever had to sit through. I know it's a meme that it's ironic how people don't like it when the "anime podcast" talks about anime, but there's a difference between having feelings about a show that you've watched and having feelings about a show that you didn't watch. I'm sure the boys don't mind too much if someone doesn't watch the episode and whatnot, it's their lives and they can live however they please, but this is straight up just bad content practices to act like you're going to talk about the ending of a very important show to your careers and instead have one person straight up not watch the episode and not provide a single meaningful word of discussion around it. It's clickbait, and this is the first episode of TT in a while where I've felt like I've wasted my time engaging with this content. I hate to be so harsh and rude, Garnt seemed like he really wanted to have a genuine conversation about the show and it's ending, but for the love of all that is holy PLEASE do some research before these types of episodes. I know Connor talked about how they didn’t plan this ahead of time, but I’m sorry that still doesn’t excuse putting this episode out except for clickbait or trendiness. If they’re THAT worried about engagement and watch times, then maybe put some real effort into the show and not rely on low-effort tricks that a startup channel needs to grow. Imagine finding out that this mysterious power that a race has originated from a single slave whose corpse was cannibalized by her daughters and her power forced into a tool for conquest? Who the heck is going zzz at that?

I get it. The same thing happened to me. When Final season part 1 came out, I assumed it was only going to be 2 parts like previous seasons. I knew it was gonna be hype, so I wanted to wait until the final seasons ended before starting. But when part 2 ended and I heard they were doing a part 3, I kinda checked out. I didn't think the show got worse or anything, just so many delays on completing the story kinda made me care less about finishing the anime. Sort of like when you try making plans with a friend but they keep rescheduling it last minute. You kinda lose interest eventually.

@@IiIaNgH3LLIiI Tbh, I'm pretty sure that is just a joke to rile people up. There are plenty of great shows/movies/books in the world, we don't have time to go through them all. If you aren't emotionally invested in something then spending time on it just seems like wasted effort, and it is clear Joey doesn't care about league. Garnt has also chosen not to watch some critically acclaimed shows just because he isnt emotionally invested enough to do so. I think people are really taking the Arcane thing out of proportion.

Reason Joey says it fumbled the bag: The storytelling? No. The characters? No. The soundtrack and animation? No. The release schedule and naming convention, things that have nothing to do with the actual show? Yup! Connor: The show was good when we didn’t know what was happening Also Connor: I wish Eren’s thoughts were narrated so we knew exactly what he was thinking Connor: They go on explaining things too much Also Conner when something intriguing and well though out happened: “man I’m just confused” Connor: The ending was as safe as you could have gotten. AOT ending: Main character that we grew up with for over a decade goes through with killing 80% of the population, and has to be killed by the love of his life. The show, rejecting the route of choosing an alternate reality where he sees the future and avoids the rumbling, denying the ease of a “happy” ending, staying true to its story and characters and introspection into the human condition Meanwhile Garnt: talking about a generation defining show in an engaging and intelligent way. Thank you Garnt. And here, dropped your 👑 king

I mean it's safe compared to what isayama has been doing. Isayama has been killing the main casts too many times. And that what he meant by "The ending is to safe" Eren could still continue the rumbling and the squad failed to stop him and died whilst trying. Eren would be a genocidal maniac that was trying to protect his friend, and then lost the people he's trying to protect. And then thousand years come paradise would still be anhiliated with war, "Because war never ends". The ending is messy and safe
