I haul a 48 inch Exmark Turf Tracer in a Ford Econoline. No trailer, no need for a garage for storage. Weedeaters, blowers, hedge trimmers fit perfectly as well..

Thanks man! I haven't put a dollar value to it but, less gas hauling versus towing, convenience of parking anywhere and getting in and out of anywhere to quickly load and unload in tight neighborhoods... banging out one lawn after another. Plus, you never have to worry about employee "trailer accidents".

looks nice. We have to worry about snow plowing here and I wouldn't want to keep taking this on and off for plowing season and wouldn't want to use during plowing. So in my case then it would be a dedicated lawn truck and not be able to use for plowing, so it just would not work for me.

You can easily take it off after mowing season and put the tailgate back on. That's the great thing. Versus a izusu truck that can't do anything but mowing or landscaping... Your truck can plow and salt.

Possibly, as long as they're not too big. 48 or smaller between wheel wells and no bigger than 54 behind.

Both. I think the guys prefer inside the truck bed when they can but I think it's less steps to grab from the side of the truck. I'm use to it and can get it in and out efficiently most of the time.

I unload everything at the end of the day into storage. It's just mine having an open trailer. If it rains in the middle of the day, you just call it and put everything away or wait it out under a gas station cover next to a pump.

What kind of truck are you using?? Need at least a ton for a walk behind and a stander together.

3500 You can use 3/4 ton with extra leaf springs or airbags installed. Walk behind and stander way less than 2,000lbs combined. A 48 and 52 stander, depending on brand, is when you need to beef up suspension or get full ton. 👍

Load and unload everyday. Not the most ideal but only takes 5 minutes each time. No different than if you have an open trailer and have to do the same. Beyond theft, I wouldn't want to leave them in the elements...

That's why I still have the trailer. Just rent a truck temporarily. But I mean, what if your trailer goes down?? That's happened to me a bunch, and it ruined the whole week. You can also go rent a trailer but not the same as having your own trailer and just renting some truck...🤷♂️

Not sure. I know they don't sell anything but maybe there's something out there for a hitch from a 3rd party. It's meant to take the ramp part off easily if you need to, with the quick disconnect system.

I like the idea of it but personally I like to pack equipment away and lock it in storage. It would also be a real pain in the arse if the truck had a major mechanical issue.

Mow blow get the dough, I do 35 crappy ,weedy ,small ,no catch lawns ,a day ,helper sometimes ,if he doesn’t show it’s not a big deal 125 stops per week ,I can do more , but leave Friday Saturday for rain catch up best thing is you can start Monday ,no one complains if it does not rain , 3 day weekend ,keep your route tight ,always collect money ,get there info so they can pay by phone if they want every two weeks raise it by 10 bucks explain to them about the extra weed whacking they always say ok this a 20 year proven business plan . This truck rack system is ideal for this model because you could park at your house just make your name magnetic so you could pull the signage if someone complains then you can tell him be careful I might buy another one!

Wow, never heard that one... How else is anyone going to know what it is to look into possibly buying one? It's like business logo on lawn truck or trailer. It's branding. Without it there's slow to no business growth. Plus is reduces the weight of the metal, which is beneficial in many ways. 👍

What I do not understand about turning your truck into a trailer is : what do you guys do with all debris such as clipping , branches , twigs , whatever nature throw at you. I would not make a living if I could not haul out the debris

We have manly well maintained HOA lawns, there's not much debris during the bulk of mowing season. If there's some sticks and debris from a storm, we either throw them in the woods if available or put them in the truck bed like we would do with a trailer. Shrub clippings are bagged like we've always done, even with a trailer. Anything we have at the end of the day gets thrown out in storage dumpster. Like said in the video, come fall, we'll switch back to the trailer. This is specifically for dedicated mowing.👍

I priced this unit with racks, closer to $5000. For small HOAs this may be ok. But with a large variety of different sized properties, this would never work. We’ve used enclosed trailers for years. It enables us to carry much more equipment, which ultimately helps us to be more efficient and make more money. To much money for what you get

Absolutely not for everyone and best for route density dedicated mowing crew. It's $4,000 for how I have it setup. Types and brands of racks will vary that final price but it's one time investment. Zero yearly maintenance and less wear and tear on the truck, plus gas savings. Unlike pulling a trailer... I have switched back to enclosed trailer for leaf season and can immediately tell the difference on my truck. Having weight over axle instead of pulling it behind, extends the life of your brakes as well (which is one of the first things to go pulling a trailer). Just another option for businesses where it makes sense, like mine 👍

You always had to grab the latch at the top... The spring makes it easier now. Less steps 👍

@@LawnCareRookie but u could just open it in the morning and leave it, then just use the thumb latch for each trimmer, now, u have to reach one hand to the top and hold it open and other hand to the bottom to get at the trimmer, just seems stupid to me, literaly a step backwards imo

The trailer was only $4k 3 years ago, so it's $7k total between the two. And it makes sense when you have a growth mindset and two crews, plus it's always smart to have backups 😎

It makes perfect sense. While you’re driving around town with your mobile Walmart looking for somewhere to park. He’s already found a park, used 50% less fuel getting there and probably trimmed half the front yard. We’re mowing lawns, not moving house.

What do you do when it rains? How do you cover or protect your equipment from weather?

It's the same as having an open trailer. I unload and load every morning and afternoon. And if it rains in the middle of the day but will pass, I go to the gas station and wait it out by the pump.
