Pro blisterman here. Moleskin not on top of the blister, but around it-keeping pressure off the hotspot. Build up a lil mound around it with a few layers. I also like to secure additionally with a wrap of (lightly) wound medical tape so it doesn’t sweat off. If it’s already bubbled and holding fluid medical advice would say not to puncture it because you’re opening yourself to infection. But. Taking that pressure off gives you room back in the shoe and allows you to build moleskin around it. And it’s likely gonna pop on itself anyway if you’re still moving.

Hey Cody, I’ve been loving watching better yourself and progress every week, you’ve really inspired me to start taking care of my body and mind again. I used to be a beach lifeguard and I was very fit but some things happened in my life a few years ago, it caused me to abandon all my hobbies and neglect to take care of myself. I went on my first run today because of your videos it sucked and was really hard but I feel so much happier for taking this first step. I’ve also signed up for a half marathon in October thankyou for inspiring me to push myself and to try hard to slowly improve my physical and mental health. CHOO CHOO ❤

When I was running 40 miles a week, I dealt with blisters constantly. I found that thick socks help, along with fabric bandaids (layer them bitches up). The rubber-like bandages that kinda look like pimple patches also help a lot, especially if you put the fabric bandaids over it. I know 3-4 bandaids is a lot but it works lol

Fellow blister-recipient with what’s helped me: 1. socks with merino wool! I like the brand Ice Breaker; wool sounds counterintuitive in the heat but trust me on this one 2. soaking the dawgs in an epsom salt bath post-hike. Stings like a bitch but makes a heck of a difference the next day with both muscle soreness from compensating pressure points as well as skin healing
@thehousecat932 ай бұрын
I love my merino wool socks, all I wear anymore, cycling, running, hiking in the Los Angeles heat. Keep me dry, temperature regulating, totally frictionless.

Hey Cody, hiked the PCT and Arizona Trail in the last few years. Your best bet for blister care is a thing called Leukotape you buy in a big roll. It sticks like magic through sweat, river crossings, dirt, whatever. It has no padding so if you really want to you can put some moleskin under it, but in my experience it’s best used when you feel a hot spot before you get a blister. Stop just like you did to take care of it and put some Leukotape over it, and that hot spot will have some space to recover from all that friction before a blister happens. Sometimes all prep goes out the window and you gotta just muscle through it, and maybe pop it if you’re okay with the sanitary risk that presents (I’ve always been fine but that’s anecdotal)
@jillian1022 ай бұрын
Cody, I’m not sure if you’ll read this but you inspired me to start running again! I have loved watching your fitness journey since Ironman. I used to get blisters constantly doing ballet. I would use these little gel squares called "spenco 2nd skin squares" and then tape over them w/ medical tape. Putting oragel on them numbs them for a bit too.

I like to use little foam circles that have a sticky side, you can find them in the same area as bandaids and things. it makes sure there's actually no friction OR pressure on the blister! It'll heal much quicker

Hi Kody! I'm from clag as well ! I get blisters so bad all the time. You can go to an outdoor store and get blister socks that go under your regular socks and you'll never get blisters again. They basically just cover over your ankle area.

Blister tip! I like to use packing tape or smooth slippery tape on top of my bandaid. The tape keeps things frictionless and nothing tugs at the blistered skin.
