Hi Friends Happy Monday!
Today I wanted to talk about Scoot Amedure and what happened to him after appearing on the Jenny Jones Show. This case is sad and their defense is/was awful.
Thank you for hanging out with me today and I appreciate you guys so much for sending recommendations my way and always coming by, it really means more than you know.
Have a wonderful rest of your day and hope to be seeing you very soon.

i have a theory, the producers and everyone in the show said it was a “real connection” between them two. What if when Scott revealed his feelings, John realized that he may feel some type of way back. He probably felt embarrassed or humiliated that he even felt like that (different time). He got so angered that Scott made him realize that, that he took it out on him. I don’t know just a theory🤨🤔

We don't know how much she did ot didn't know, do we? Not all friends tell you everything about themselves. But then again for any straights listening: yeah it isn't wise or kind to your lgbt friends to act assuming someone is safe. Even in 2022, homophobia is far fromdead, and some people forget that that is still a thing just because gsy marriage passed: which is kind of like assuming racism ended instantly when schools got desegregated legally. We truly can never know unless we ask how someone really feels and sometimes even then just how bad it is can surprise you.

I wonder if Scott would have still confessed his feelings without the show. Would John have reacted differently if the confession hadn't been public? Or would he have "calmed down" if Scott hadn't left him that note afterwards? Really gets your head spinning. I do not think the show is responsible, unless John was displaying irrational and homophobic behavior on the set, like when they told him the person could be a man. Apart from that, they were clear about the show topic and all parties agreed to it. It's an awful situation to be in, but the show didn't bring them together or force them to do anything.

The fact that that is a legal defense makes it seem like it’s a legitimate reason to hurt someone. In my opinion that defense should be phased out because it perpetuates the idea that there’s something to be scared of.

It is also a literal get-out-of-jail card for anyone intentionally committing a hate crime. That defense is there for homophobes wanting to commit hate crimes. Period.

One thing that gets me is that Jon's friend Donna was in on it. She would have known that he would have been uncomfortable with something like that. So she is also partially responsible for pushing Scott to go on the show to do this.

We don't know that she did know, though. Not all bigots blast it from the rooftops. In fact, many don't. Its scary but true that sometimes you have no way to know it someone is safe until they surprise you in the worst ways. Unless we know she was told I don't think it's fair or wise to hold her responsible for John's actions or assume things we don't know.
