Today we carry on with the scenarios set out within the Quest of the Ringbearer book! In this scenario, The Fellowship must find a way to escape the Mines of Moria but The Balrog can catch up with them! Will they all make it out? Will the Goblins of Moria get in the way? Can Gandalf break the bridge? Find out in todays video!

Fair if you don’t care but I think I remember it being if you move at all then it’s a -1 to your shoot value & if you move more than half your speed then you can’t shoot at all

I wonder if it would have been more accurate if the rules made the all goblins take a courage test when the Balrog appears and/or moves forward

"Wooooah, Magnetic... SO good" "That's how the dwarves did it..." That was classic haha. This is pretty dope, but I definately like the what if scenarios a bit more than just recreating "actual" events. The moria V Rohan was cool to think about and fun to watch. I'm sure I'll still like this though. I'm going to have to get this game for sure. PS You missed the chance to say "A Balrog has come!" My only complaint haahahah this was great.

Great video, but a couple of rules errors; I know you corrected it, but forgetting Will and Resistant to Magic on the Balrog probably would have been the difference in getting rid of Frodo one turn earlier. Also, you don’t take a Courage test to see him if he has the Ring on, only to charge him. The Fight value of the enemy is then halved. The Will points have to be allocated and then rolled all at once as well; when Balrog rolled 4 Will to resist the Compel, they needed to be rolled all at once.

Love the making of the video. But you should look up the rules for heroic actions. Heroic move, heroic march and heroic combat could have been realy handy for the fellowship in several situations...

Some mistakes with the rules: 10:25 you actually can’t shoot is you move more than half. You always get a +1 to hit if you move even if you move less than half. So if you move 4.5 you can’t shoot. 18:25 You can spear support if you are charged. Also the fellowship has heroic march, that really helps on getting across. The fellowship can use heroic combats to move even further. 25:24 Gimli has a master forged axe so never gets the -1 for using a two handed weapon. 30:56 you cannot roll all dice at the same time if you hit different models. Each model has to be rolled separately. The one ring gives a -1 for every inch the opponent is away from the ring bearer, not a -1 total. The ring can be taken off too, it’s not on permanently. The courage test is only in the enemy charges the rung bearer not if the ring bearer charges the enemy. 47:20 if you have a tie and the fight value if the same, you don’t re-roll. You roll a dice and on a 1-3 evil wins and 4+ good wins. Except when using elven weapons than you win with a 2+. Channeling requires might, that Gandalf didn’t use. 52:16 you can only use one spell. 55:24 you need to specify the target before making the to wound rolls, not after. 58:35 Gimli can use will points to pass the courage test. 1:02:43 you have to determine the amount of will points you use to resist before making the resist roll. You cannot roll one and then again if you fail the resist.

I love the homebrew rule of rolling again when you tie instead of doing to 1-3 to evil and 4-6 good tiebreaker. Yours makes more sense to me! EXCELLENT terrain and battle guys.

With the starting positions, and the movement speed of the hobbits, I don't see any way that the Fellowship can reach the bridge before the goblins catch them, regardless of whether or not the balrog appears. Good video, and an enjoyable combat to watch.

I know it’s just a game, but we have to remember cinematically that the goblins and the Balrog are not on the same turn. In fact, the goblins flee from the balrog at the sheer light of him and resort to using only archers. That being said, this is my first video watching and the system is interesting

I feel because of this model/map instead of trying cram all the goblins into a little section further away you could just not let them move the first turn. If the map was the correct size for the scenario they would be starting so far away anyways that that's pretty much all they could do, whether they got priority or not. As is, the Goblins were on the Fellowship waaay too quickly. I also find it odd that the Goblins aren't scared off by the Belrog's presence like in the movie and assuming also book, but maybe that would make it a little too one sided towards the Fellowship. Would give them too much of a chance to get across the bridge and out. But, I'd personally like to see a rematch of this scenario.

Maybe iam missing something, but why arent they using heroic moves? A march in the first move would have helpend and a heroic move to win priority moving the fellowship has plenty of might for it

Except the goblins ran away when the balrog came in the movie. Also you can just draw when you draw with neither side winning as in they defended themselves

perhaps servant of Modor could have red rim bases, Saurumon with white rimmed bases, & the party from above have silver? ha, or I suppose Gold When the Balrog spent 4 Will to resist Gandalph, I was surprised you didn't use the Compel on Frodo to send him across the bridge. I have a Request, pun intended, what do you recommend for a person who's Gaming Shop & Open Tables was shut down due to lockdowns? We always just met there. I'm sure some people exchanged information, but I never saw that coming and just relied on my storytelling to gain full tables. I don't do facebook or anything other than yt, my computer is too small to download online gaming. I don't have a phone. Maybe a quick one off telling me I'm screwed? I'm 51, I can't access discord, telegram requires a phone. Most everyone I know lives in California, I live in North Carolina. Help!
