Former Ireland international and Sunderland player Liam Lawrence joined Keith Andrews on The Keith Andrews Show. As part of the chat, Liam told us about a set-to with Roy Keane, which ended his Sunderland career. This comes after Stephen Ward's revelations about a training ground argument between Keane, Harry Arter and Jonathan Walters.

does anyone else get the impression that.... because practically ALL the players that fell out with Roy Keane have run to the media to gossip about it..... that Roy Keane was right about them being prima donnas...!?! 😂 what happened to the dressing room code....what stays in the dressing room stays there....!? whatever you think of Keane, whether you love or hate him , most of these b grade players' career highlights were arguing with him! 😂 Keane wins!

I think you'll find Keith Andrews was voted in the top 100 MK Dons players of all tim....ok not of all time - but in the 21st century....so Roy Keane can talk the talk but could he have handled playing for a team where they had team bonding sessions in a field with 6 flagons of cider and 20 john player blue???

Roy Keane has not got the personality to be a good manager. Yes the modern players are pink handbags and in love with their hairdos. But a good manager nurtures people. Keanes just a wee horrible bully & hard to please as seen through his career.

@@mrfrisky2997 I would rather have 11 Irish men on the pitch who want to be there because they're proud of their Country - Not because they see it as an easy route to playing International football or because they're not good enough to make it into the England setup. Even if our overall standard of player drops as a result of this I'd much rather see it. Say what you want about some of the obviously 'Non-Irish' players in that 94' squad but when they got on the pitch they played like men who were born and bred in the Country.

@@eatsleepdrums I do agree but where is your cut off point? Was John Aldridge Irish? Was Ray Houghton Irish? Was Paul McGrath Irish? - none were born in Ireland and all were proud to play for Southern Ireland - as were, I'm sure many players you may class as plastic. The Question remains - where is your cut off point?

I believe Andrews mentions Keane had respect for Lawrence. In his book, per this interview. His own words. Keane the player. Fantastic. One of the greatest leaders i have seen in over 60 years in the game. Doesn't make you a great manager. He clearly is struggling to adjust to the modern day player. If you don't adjust or show flexibility you are done. Bottom line !

the world is changing , true there are a lot more wimps who cry because someone shouted at them. He is aware shouting and arguing with your 'boss' isn't normal behaviour? it's football not an office , if harsh language is troubling you i think you need to toughen up. And the modern world changing isnt exactly working out for the better. I would say it's making things a lot worse. It's not like roy keane's demeanour is a secret , you take your bollocking and try to improve. To be fair i am completely biased as i love roy keane and i wasnt there . Theres two side to evry story i guess but i think your 'boss' in football is entitled to shout at you if you annoy him.

Dealt what with Viera? Dealt nothing! Keane's a bluffer... and more to the point, he's an ignoramus totally lacking in basic social skills. If he can't handle that others don't rise to his impeccable standards (like walking out on his country and faking injury to stay with United) then maybe he should slide on and allow someone else to do the job? By the way, Lawrence called his bluff, and as usual Roy shat his tights. What a leader! What a hardman! PMSL.

Darby Lemon what do you mean dealt with vieira? They’d never have a full fist fight on the pitch without people getting involved. He has his teammates behind him that will protect him. But on his own he can’t stand it when someone stands up to him.

Keith Andrews is just jealous of Roy. He has his chance as assistant manager now, but still has done nothing - Ireland are near their worst ever position now. In June 2016 Roy and O’Neill somehow made some terrible individual players into a very solid Irish team - so solid they not only qualified but almost got to the last 8 of the euros, narrowly losing to france who had Griezmann, giroud, evra, Kante, Pogba etc.. Ireland had a team of nobodies. Keith Andrew never got into a World Cup tournament either as a player or a manager, and in euro 2012 they lost every game with Andrews in midfield - he even got sent off against Italy. He basically never won a thing at the highest level. Never did anything.
