Angel is without a doubt the best "internet dog" on KZfaq. What is even better is how you love and protect her. You are a GREAT pair. I believe that misbehaving dogs are usually the fault of the owner - not the breed. I'm sure that is difficult to accept (or even consider) just having watched your best friend being attacked. The most important part of all this is that you saved Angel and she is doing OK now. Your winter overnight video's at the cabin are so amazing!

I've been through the same thing w/ my lab, Astro. So happy Angel recovered 100%!!! I now carry a walking 'stick' w/ me.

🤗A similar thing happened to my daughter when she was walking her dog several years ago. It was a Rottweiler that attacked. Thank God a woman driving by stopped and got an old umbrella she had in her car and started hitting the Rottweiler. Another person called the police. The owner of the dog paid for several hundred dollars of vet bills but my daughter’s dog was never the same emotionally again. I am so glad Angel is okay.

I discovered Dale Calder's channel in January of 2020 and I love the videos as they are so enjoyable, informative and relaxing to watch and I especially love the cabin videos and the video above is my favorite.

What a lovely way to spend a night-cozied up inside a warm cabin on a snowy night with your beautiful Angel, some good comfort food and good books to read! You are a fantastic narrator, so soothing to listen to, and I thank you for sharing your night with us. Thank God Angel is fine after her attack. My grandson (18 months) wasn’t so lucky in October 2019 when he was bitten by a large dog and needed extensive plastic surgery to repair the upper part of his face and scalp. He’s lucky to have his eye on that side. The eyelid was torn right through width wise and vertically. The bite missed his eyeball by a millimeter. He’s fine now, just 4 months later, although badly scarred physically. Hopefully, he was young enough when it happened that he’ll have little or no memory of the attack. We are so lucky as it certainly could’ve been far worse.

First of all, thank goodness Angel AND you are ok!! Secondly, I love the ambience in your cabin videos. The morning sun shining into the cabin with the coffee perking is heaven!!

I've missed your lovely videos!! We always get a quick chat in at Christmas, but this year I was in bed with a migraine. I Really missed it!! I hope your family, pretty Angel, & chickens are well, & that you are as well!! I was hoping y'all had had more snow this year, like your average amount. I know in Missouri, in the middle of the U.S., we only had about .25 inch of snow, in my town all winter... A real bummer!! We usually get a few decent snows each winter, but less as time goes on anymore. I truly hope you & yours are having a fantastic 2020. I'll be working to get caught up on your channel for the next couple weeks, depending on my spare time. *I just got to the part of poor Angel's attack, that's horrible she had to go through that trauma!! Thank God she's well, and that she has you!! She's such a sweet girl, that's funny how she finally ate, after she got her treat!! I'm glad it didn't make her skittish!! My girl, River is a Min Pin, and can be skittish with others, but she sticks close to me. She hasn't ever been though anything so traumatic that I know of, at least during the years we lived together she hasn't. She's pretty old, but still has pep! Butternut squash and rutabaga are a good combination, too. I mash them together, and we enjoy them. My brother lives in Washburn, WI - it is on Lake Superior, and he is a great fisherman. He serves his Lake Superior whitefish on puréed parsnips - it is really good.

So nice to see you and Angel out at the cabin for a snowstorm again :-) We've had a fairly easy winter so far too and now I'm looking forward to garden weather.

I would like to live in a tiny house, but I have a problem with sentimental treasures. I would need at least 5 tiny houses just for those! LoL You make it look very easy and enjoyable. Angel loves it too! Just a quick tip for bread making that I learned in culinary school. When you start to mix your dough, use the handle of your spoon. It really does mix it up quickly and takes less stirring and energy than the spoon end. (Bless Angel. Prayers for her. She's such a sweet baby)

Hi Dale. Like everyone, I enjoy your cabin videos. Potatoes and parsnips sound delicious along with the haddock. I do enjoy crepes. Poor Angel, I’m so glad she is ok! That must have been scary. I’m not fond of pit bulls even though I know of a nice, gentle one my grandson has. Oh my, I love the Grantchester mysteries on PBS. My sister and I read a lot of books together and I read books along with her Marrowstone Island book club (Washington state), I live half way cross the country in Minnesota. Books bring me so much joy.

My favorite is carrot and parsnip mashed. Angel is lucky to be alive. Glad you were there with her.

Of course I enjoyed everything about the video. I just feel so comfortable watching your channel. You are so mellow and interesting. We share some of the same interests. Hi Dale, I am sorry to hear Angel was attact by a pit bull . I hope the owner never lets it run free again . Angel is lucky and looks very happy now and all is well with her. You should carry some spray to stop those mean dogs that attack. Oh the bread looks so good . Been a while since I have been on here ,I have not been well this winter . Hi Dale, very glad to hear Angel has recovered from the attack and hope she continues to be happy and enjoy playing with other dogs. Re Granchester, as someone else said, it is a real place, and was the subject of a poem by Rupert Brooke. Lots of people know the line "and is there honey still for tea?" it tapped into a lot of how people felt during the First World War.

Aw! I feel so bad about what happened to Angel, but am glad she is okay! I had a little dog that was killed by my former neighbor's pit! Now, I live on over 300 acres and just have to worry about the wild hogs that have been multiplying like crazy here in Texas! Loved this 'cabin' video, Dale!

Angel is such a gentle soul. She must have been horrified when that beast attacked her. I'm so glad she came through it ok. She certainly looks happy and comfortable now. I love seeing her settled in, with her head on your pillow! She has such a good life. I'm always amazed at the way you can throw a loaf of bread together. That toast made my mouth water. poor Angel! Sometimes some dogs just are not a good fit. Angel is submissive so I am a little surprised that the other dog went in like that, though our first border collie x was dog aggressive, great with cats so we monitored her very closely and never off leash when other dogs were about. She was a rescue too so we did not know her early history or trauma. usually though you can see something coming... a lip curl, narrowing eyes... ruff rising, intense stare. I am so very glad for both of you that she is healing up.. those antibiotics are really hard on the tummy! It was so nice to hear you enjoying the day with Angel in your cabin. thank you for sharing it!

Love your cabin videos and recipes Dale. Sorry that Angel had to experience an attack but so glad she has mended well! I had a little Jack Russell who was attacked by a large part German shepherd. He recovered from the injury but was very nervous for a long time. This kind of thing is so traumatic for the owners also. I hope sweet Angel never experiences anything like that again!
