Another AMAZING town. I am totally loving this set of videos. I found it quite amusing when you tried to eat that Black Currant. The Love between you and Derek is so nice to see with all the turmoil in the USA right now, it is refreshing!!

Wind and rain make for miserable hiking but I wish we had some of that rain here in Oregon! We are currently having massive wildfires that will only be put out by fall rains. Enjoying your videos as always. Stay safe and dry!

Bless you two, you really had some awful weather but your positive spirit and smiles always shines through and makes watching so enjoyable. Did I spot an upward waterfall??? The berries are Sloe 😊 black currant are very nice off the vine and look like mini grapes.... my parents had them in their garden in Germany 😁 thank you for another lovely video!

Good to know! I couldn't figure out if they were black currants or sloe. As I didn't see thorns I thought the former. Either way I won't be eating them again😆

Thanks for sharing. Did this hike a couple of years ago. You‘ve brought me just right back. Thanks a bundle, again. Btw, I did this stroll in splendid weather, and was dumbfounded by the sheer beauty of the countryside.

I guess all that rain is what makes England the proverbial green and pleasant land -- or, at least it accounts for the green part. Interesting to see actual blackcurrants. I have had them in jam in England, but they are pretty well unknown on this side of the Atlantic.

You two are a hardy duo - there's something bracing and energising being out and about in inclement and wild weather. And it makes you appreciate your destination and lodging,even more, when you finally get there. Not many people are ready to go the extra mile in those kind of conditions - so commendation for a hike well done.

You really didn’t have much luck with the weather! It’s not much fun squelching along in wet boots/gear so thanks for smiling and staying cheerful. Isn’t Robin Hood’s Bay the eastern terminus of the Coast to Coast Path?

@@MarysOutdoorAdventures yes thank you. No chips though everything was closed🙄. We are going back monday to finish the cleveland way. We live near york so we have been doing it all in stages taking 2 cars which is a bit of a pain parking one car at the end of the walks the driving to the start and then after the walk driving to the beginning to collect the other..😄 weve been watching your walks which are very good.👍 You had bad weather but we have picked and chosen the good days. Hopefully we will finish Monday. 😀👍 cheers

Little technical hint. In this episode you were mostly filming with your phone, I assume. That means the default fps was 30. When you shoot with your camera, I guess the fps is 24 or 25fps. When editing the videos, if the project is 30fps and you import 24/25fps video, it means in pans and movement, you get choppiness. Either drop your project fps to the same of your camera or up the fps on your camera to 30fps to avoid this effect. I already noticed this on your PCT videos which I enjoyed. PS. They weren't black currants. They are sloes, which make excellent infused gin.

Odd Man And The Sea Good technical advice for all of us. 👍. Thank you. 🙏🏼
@MarysOutdoorAdventures

Thanks so much for taking the time to pass on this advice Odd Man and the Sea! It was filmed using a mixture of iPhone and Camera in this video (however the PCT was just camera). I can't seem to get rid of the choppy effect in some of the panning shots, I did wonder if it was fps or how it exported from iMovie. I'm trying my best to improve both my filming techniques and editing, but I'm still learning! I would love to be able to change the frame rate, but as I only use iMovie to edit, it doesn't allow this unfortunately. I made the decision to still leave the clips in as the effort I went to just to get the shots in that extreme weather outweighed the slightly lower quality of a few seconds of footage so I hope you agree that it still added to the video? Hopefully when my channel grows more or when I get support through my Patreon I will be able to upgrade to better editing software 🤞
@OddManAndTheSeaUK
@OddManAndTheSeaUK 3 жыл бұрын
@@MarysOutdoorAdventures If you still have the same camera, GX7 Mk2, just select on the settings to shoot at fps to 29.97. Then when you export the video, the frame rate is the same as with your iPhone (unless you shoot 60fps, which doesn't matter as it still be smooth). Try that and do a test shoot, edit, export and import to KZfaq to see if that makes a difference. Maybe this will help with iMovie: "There is no button to change the frame rate of a project in iMovie 10. iMovie sets the frame rate of a project from the very first clip that is placed into a newly created project. You can later delete or move that clip without causing the frame rate to change." I'm getting ads on your videos, so you're getting monetised, congrats on that ;)

@@OddManAndTheSeaUK I didn't know that about when the camera and iPhone are used together in a video iMovie defaults to the first clip setting - so if I have do that again I will make sure to sync them at the same fps beforehand to avoid it. Thanks so much for the tips as it got me doing more research into it!
