Modern hisotry often wonders how things such as the Salem witch trials or the Mass Beheadings of the french revolution happened. Here we have a video example of how these things start.

Or the Cultural Revolution within the PRC. Mao cynically chose students to lead the charge because he knew they lacked maturity and tended to respond to things on an emotional basis. They were gullible and easily hoodwinked, as were the Hitler Youth. Personally, I think radicals like Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin used the same tactics in the 1960s. They agitated for the students to provoke violent confrontations with the police, yet made sure their own skulls were safely clear of the Billy clubs.

I’ve always wondered why intellectuals and academics were targeted in episodes of history. The case of Evergreen opened my eyes. We trust our young people with these educators to expand critical thinking about the world. What happens to a society when it realizes the system they trusted used their power to indoctrinate students into the cult of bad faith and ideas?

I can’t decide if I feel bad for the guy or not. On one hand, he should be able to have the objectivity to see what was truly going on and giving in to the mobs demands, which seems wrong as the President of a State university. On the other hand, he probably feels that it is his job to do whatever they please because it is ingrained in his head that he is inherently racist and they are not. And making fun of him for his hand movements and demanding immediate change is just so unfair.

25:38 Teacher at Evergreen for 20 years, Arun Chandra trapped them perfectly saying: "I want to support what you're doing, and I don't know what you're demands are. Can I get a copy of them?" Response: "Have you ever had black and brown students in your class?" "yes" "then you know what the demands are." ( read my mind, ) Arun: "...any student feels unsafe, particularly student of color....This is where my kids grew up. It makes me wonder: "What can I do?" If you feel unsafe, come to my house...I know many of these faculty well, and they would happily do that too ( he trapped them again, reducing the footprint of myth of systemic racism by a lot). Response : "...your faculty have to open their houses to students of color because its that unsafe. We went to your house George ( president) and we didn't feel welcome" ( prop up the myth, more demands of firings follows) The manifesto here 33:03 and the meeting show me they don't want a solution, they want to gain and retain power for the basket of ideologies they are forcing on others. They are a political movement, not a rights movement!

At most colleges, the dean of students handles complaints from students of certain instructors/professors. When students are struggling academically, they turn to academic advising. The fact that accusations of racism are coming from students' complaints to academic advising means that these students failing in certain classes is being construed as racism.

It's too sloppily constructed and too redundant taken as a whole, but Boyce could certainly compile like 3-4 key sequences that sell the message, ESPECIALLY the exportation of the ideology from the college to a state agency they bullied the state into creating because of a "racist" local shooting. Having never encountered this kind of crazy before and having a few members of the Senate that were identitarian ideologues themselves, they succeeded in literally subverting the law enforcement mechanism of their state. That is the most important part of the story, IMO as it speaks to the rapid expansion of this ideology across the world. Also, this subculture... is actually a colonial ideology. It "colonizes" other cultures and eradicates and replaces them.... in the exact manner they pretend "white supremacy" does.
@whataqtify
@whataqtify 3 жыл бұрын
@@Douglemagne I think the point is that this series was made by what appears to be a single guy. I'm sure he's had help but the amount of research complied here is amazing. If Mr Boyce were given proper funding to create a miniseries, like Making a Murderer or Tiger King. I would guess that most people have never heard this story. If the right editors got ahold of it adding interviews of people from BOTH sides it and making it into a dramatic story, I could see it being very popular. I always think of Bret Weinstein's quote from the day this started, "History could pivot in this moment". The protesters laughed at him but it truly does feel like it did pivot in that exact moment.

The union is supposed to support ALL of the faculty members who pay union dues. And about white people not knowing what racism looks like - I am pretty sure that these white people do, working at Evergreen! Furthermore, I am still waiting for specific examples of racism against students at Evergreen to be described, specifically. If the "faculty of color" do not think that white faculty members understand what "racism looks like", then why aren't they EXPLAINING what it looks like - CLEARLY - by providing examples of the ACTUAL incidence of racism that these students are protesting against? If there truly were incidents of racism, wouldn't they WANT to make everyone aware of what happened so it does not happen again? I have my own theory about that.....They don't do this because they can't. These students are attending one of the most liberal colleges in the country. They are protesting "racism" to camouflage the fact that they are not prepared for the rigor of college studies and they feel inadequate. However, they do not attribute that feeling of inadequacy to their own lack of academic skill or their lack of essential background knowledge or even their unwillingness to put in the hard work. They have been taught, mostly by Evergreen College, that any "gap" in achievement between black and white students is due to racism, and it doesn't even occur to them to take responsibility for their own learning and education. In addition, protesting makes students feel important, virtuous and it gives them purpose - even though what they are "protesting" simply does not exist within their environment at Evergreen. The "faculty of color" supports these students by perpetuating this charade. Why would intelligent faculty do such a thing? Because this is how they remain relevant. They are like cult leaders - if their followers discover that their leaders are lying to them, the entire house of cards collapses - their entire narrative, their degree in "grievance studies", would become meaningless and no one would enroll in their classes. (Kind of what is starting to happen now with Evergreen's dwindling enrollment.) Therefore, the faculty's entire charade must include making sure that they provide students with plenty of excuses - I mean explain to the students of color how oppressed they are - by stating to them that "It's the WHITE FACULTY who don't understand YOU- this is why you are failing your classes - this is why you are stressed out because you cannot handle the workload - this is why you are doing poorly on research papers - white language arts teachers are using that racist standard English to evaluate the quality of your writing. And those white math and science teachers - racists! This is why you do not understand the Pythagoreum theory - Pythagoras was WHITE!" Sounds ludicrous, right? Not at Evergreen.....

Does anyone else notice the emasculating technique used against George, and only George, of requiring him to keep his hands by his sides or in his pockets at all times, usually with every reminder by students met with laughter whenever he complies? Meanwhile every other speaker is allowed full physical expression free from any such constraint. And it's not limited to just this video and instance, there's other examples of this happening amongst the recorded meetings released in this series. I've never seen such ridiculous demands and weak compliance of and by a 'leader' before and it's absolutely insane. I just see no one else discussing this and I find it so strange.

@@MoonBurn13 Surely he can see the power dynamics at play here and once assessed to be nothing more than controlling and mocking instead of 'minimising microaggresions (whatever that means)' move to reassert himself as the leader he's supposed to be, that he was instilled with a duty to perform. And if he can't see what's happening here then what the hell is he doing in this position to begin with? Milkshake and chill had his whole position (one of support with the protesters and seemingly attempting to create more clarity) rendered a laughing stock and obscene to the protesters because of a single point. Meanwhile the person he pointed at was not a few seconds before doing the same action. Absolute hypocrisy and witch hunting at its finest (worst).

For a point of reference, Nikita Oliver (who is seen lecturing starting at 1:25 ) ran for Mayor of Seattle around 2018, and finished in 3rd by just a few votes, nearly made the 2-person run-off. I looked at Oliver's positions saw "abolish the Seattle Police Dept" and immediately moved on to other candidates.

I still don’t know what they want. And when the one faculty member explicitly asked, the students were dismissive, vague to the point of not answering. I am thinking Evergreen needs to up the rigor on their academic curricula. Get these students so engaged with their studies that they won’t have time for platitudes and platforms. Safe spaces? What does that mean? Safe from what?

I vote for expanding evergreen..... And shipping all crazy activist morons there, thus providing more spaces in everyone other US college and university for sane students, regardless of skin colour or gender. My hypothesis is that this will result in a new generation of sane, rational young people being educated in useful topics across the USA, except for Evergreen, which should have a wall built around it (tell them it's a safe space).

You can see the Evergreen's Equity Hierarchy™® at work here: every white faculty member is anxious, concerned, diminished in their corporal expression, constantly harassed by others who take greater space and speak in a louder volume, and barely allowed to make an argument without being interrupted and shut down. And the scary thing is: if you try to get in the mindset of the people doing it -those wanting to implement a racist hierarchy with white people at the bottom, out of a twisted sense of justice-, it makes perfect sense for things to be this way.

It's just painful watching this. It's like a bunch of kindergarten age children, shrieking that their parents are actually parenting them, and not allowing them to play with fire and run in traffic. I almost feel sorry for them. When they actually have to face the real world, they are going to shrivel up and blow away, or turn into raging maniacs and go postal.

... I am at a loss of what to think. one the one hand, I am amazed that these people can even dress themselves in the morning without getting sidetracked and deciding the company that make's their pants are racist. On the other, evergreen has had some truly great alumns (yourself included Ben), and Bret and Heather are amazing to listen to and I would have loved to have them as professors. Evergreen seems like the main character from Split, used to have multiple personalities, but the beast won in the end.

I don't think they think, care or are even aware of who makes their clothes at this point it may be somewhat pretentious that it's often wealthy white kids who go vegan and make a fuss about climate change and a point about buying fair trade apparel (that only people with above average income can afford) but it's a lot less damaging if you internalize everything you see as being wrong with the world than if you externalize and project it onto others
