Ben , as always a good video though I have to admit I skipped forward a bit to the conclusion. The idea that pointing a finger can be construed as a threat is bizarre to me. Maybe it's my background, or perhaps my age. I don't know, but it seems that at Evergreen a commitment to caring about the students has evolved into seeing almost everything as a potential harm or danger to them. At what point does reality come into play? When you raise children (and these are children make no mistake) to believe in the Easter Bunny, and never disabuse them of the notion... is it so surprising that they still believe in it? The job of the college, since they themselves have accepted it, is to help raise these children into being adults. I don't know if it should be their job, but again... they have taken it on. Then they completely abrogate their responsibility in instilling the realities adults face. I raised my daughter, that was my responsibility I felt. Long discussions, frank and open discussions about any subject and my beliefs and my reasoning in reaching those beliefs. Is it so hard to talk with our children? At the same time encouraging my daughter to find her own beliefs, using her own reasoning with the honest acceptance that in many things there is no right answer just your answer. How has this been lost? I know I am no genius, nor am I a perfect parent but these educators have placed themselves into a parents role and have seemingly never learned how to be parents. Madness. Oh, and sweet tea (perhaps you too skipped to the conclusion).

Just because you were born darker, just because you were born lighter, it is not a reason to think that your words are more valuable than someone else's. Having to state a superficial trait of skin color just shows that the content of what you were going to say is only valid, in your mind, because of the melanin in your skin, making you propagate racism; that the ideas you put out are only valid because of the speaker's skin color-the same reason racist white people gave for silencing black people, and that you're now using to silence white people. It's all about perceived power. Since he is a whyte male with all the perceived power and she is a Hispanic womyn with no perceived power and is oppressed by the very presence of the perceived projected power that the whyte male can't help to exude. This means it is up to him to level the perceived power differential between the two which means he must be at least socially subservient to her while she is under no such constraints. @Nevets It similiar to how a womyn can physically attack a man but a man can not physically attack a womyn, even as a retaliation type situation. It's all about perceived power. Whyte males are perceived to be the recipients of undeserved and unlimited power while the Hispanic womyn is perceived to be historically oppressed by the fact that he is whyte and a male and she is Hispanic and a womyn. This translates into that HE is the one that HAS to be SOCIALLY SUBSERVIENT in order to EQUAL OUT the POWER DIFFERENTIAL between the two.

Before the CAW(Canadian Autoworkers Union) officially became a corporation called Unifor (the Union) you would find pictures of Mao and Lenin on the walls...on the walls. I know because I was a part-time steward there and once I saw those pictures I knew that my days as both a union rep and a representative of the AGO were over. The collective in all unions(ALL UNIONS) is routinely ignored based on the circumstances(your sexual identity(female/man/queer/Hispanic etc will always protect you always, except in the case if you are a straight male, in which case you will burn. It happened to me). So, the fact that the IDENTITY union rep(Muerta) is a communist doesn't surprise me at all. She's completely communist and utterly corrupt. Utterly corrupt. What you are witnessing is a show trial circa 21st century with a group of brainless thugs. Brainless. Thugs. Evergreen is dead. It should be razed and the ground seeded with salt.

Let me tell you all about Jon Baumunk and how he deals with student of color: I saw him more of an ally that really knows how to help me equally as anyone else and he does expect timeliness from all people that came to him. I do have to admit that the allegations against him as aggressive is not only silly at best but slander at worst. I found when I walked into Jon's office to talk to him about my business plan, he nonverbally asked me questions that allowed me to think beyond what I already know. Furthermore, I see that he is a familiar guy that sits right across from me in the cafeteria and we talked like real human beings. Because of these actions, I found that Huerta is clearly violating the rules by slandering him for a crime he does not commit. If he is a racist man who does do racist actions, we would have weed me out from the start as an Asian American student. Instead, he welcomed me with open arms and he is the one that established trust with me as a student to the point that right now, I talked to him and he agreed to want to let me come to his class to present about my leadership chapter I am starting at Evergreen. Thus, I want to inform you folks about what is going on in there so that you learn who is the right guy and who is the true criminal. I am embarrassed and ashamed of you Ms Huerta. I expect more out of you but you shown to me a mannerism that is even more questionable than what the elders in Vietnam were to taught me as a human being. I want you to apologize to him the next time around and if you don't like that, then do not complain that you have lost trust from an Asian American student here and I am one of the minorities that have a history of being oppressed by the same group of people you prescribed.

Conflicting points of view are what we MUST see more of, especially from people who fall into the lefts victimhood categories who directly and unequivocally refute the narrative they put forward. So again, thank you for having the courage to post here; I don't know where you actually are in the political spectrum, but even if you lean more left, if we can have any kind of civilized dialogue, it'd be a vast improvement over the current state of affairs.

Everyone needs allies - not just "people of color". Evergreen is a toxic environment under the guise of being "woke" or whatever. We didn't keep score of who was the most oppressed and who was the most privileged. We wanted things to be FAIR. We wanted everyone to be treated with RESPECT. I agree with the sentiment but keep in mind as Napoleon said, "History is a set of agreed upon lies". Most, if not all, people do not remember that Rosa Parks was a P.R move. The ACLU literally put the whole thing in motion and filed multiple lawsuits within hours. What I find absolutely fascinating is to take a hard look at the facts of the Black community before and after Johnson decided to put them back into slave mentality and beholden to White Democrats once more. Thomas Sowell shows absolutely fabulous arguments on the subject. Remember just because you can't see the barbed wire doesn't mean that you are not in a prison.

Yes we must thank the students for videotaping. Now everyone can judge from an impartial position the events at Evergreen. What I saw from the video was a white faculty member attempting to assuage students frenzied concerns in a conciliatory manner on his ethic toward race issues and his relationship to the college's ethic toward race issues. He is then brow beaten by a faculty member of a minority ethnic background for daring to raise a separate issue previously with her in her capacity has his union rep. From her response I can only conclude that the white faculty member took issue with how the union was handling an undefined grevience and that the union rep was aggressively (spoilers: she starts the finger pointing) asserting that as a white man he was not aloud to question her in her capacity as his union rep because of the colour of his skin. The man attempts to reply (finger pointing in response) and the mob suddenly decides that using hands emotively, not thirty seconds past the union rep did the very same thing, is now an act of aggression. If she isn't going to allow faculty of certain ethnicities to raise grievances with her perhaps she is not suited to be a union representive. If that mob doesn't think white people should be aloud to gesture with their hands maybe they would support state sponsored mittens for whitey, but maybe they would consider that dexterous tone policing or some such nonsense.
@zxyatiywariii86 жыл бұрын

RE; 28:27 Question. It is 930am here, I am drinking coffee. Re; Race, she brings up race when she says "As a faculty of color". Why does she interject race? I really can't understand why they do it and why they get away with it. They need to be called out for the racists that they are.
@free-tx8jg6 жыл бұрын
You heard it correctly. I have been thinking for several months that the only way to fix the "problems" at Evergreen would be to fire every white person and hire a poc to take there place. Anything short of that and you will continue to see these protesters.
@mariomendoza80416 жыл бұрын
Nah, just shut the place down. Or..have the admin grow a pair and kick these disrespectful little shits who think they're students.
@theprogressivecynic24076 жыл бұрын
That wouldn't fix anything--it would merely lead to more fractures and "oppressed groups" being formed. In a game of oppression Olympics, knocking out the top rung only causes the remaining groups to move up a peg, then reestablish the same dynamics with a different intersectional target. For example, if there are no white students, black students will declare the Hispanic ones to be a new "privileged class" and the darker-skinned blacks will declare themselves even more oppressed than lighter-skinned ones. Also, ones who claim a disability, LGBT or non-binary gender will attack everybody else.
@free-tx8jg6 жыл бұрын
It would make for an excellent study.
@theprogressivecynic24076 жыл бұрын
Here is an example of this dynamic in action: www.colorlines.com/articles/watch-decoded-colorism-latinx-community As for a formal study, I don't know how you would ever manage to get approval for a psychological study on these vindictive yet fragile individuals given the types of disclosure that would be required (not to mention that merely mentioning such a study would get you branded a racist, protested, and endlessly harassed).

Hey Benjamin. I'm also a resident of Washington state. I live about halfway between Seattle and Olympia, so I've been very interested in this mess at Evergreen for a long time now, and following the current status of it solely from your uploads, so thanks for that. What I want to know, is there any media following this anymore? And did they ever cover this story to begin with? It's really a huge story, and the fact that this garbage is still going on there should be all over the news outlets.
There have been a spate of articles these last couple weeks, and Bret went on Tucker again.

No he's incompetent - he was ineffectual even before he was taken hostage, so I can't really blame that on the fact that he's shit scared. Those little fucks should have been expelled immediately and slapped with police charges, I can't say he's sinister because doing this deliberately would require spine and balls that George doesn't have. Although the board may be sinister and chose to keep George on knowing that he would continue to be ineffectual.

My conclusion after decades of observation and contemplation is that the female mindset is generally terrible in the public forum and in policy making. Take notice I said "female mindset". Point being that not all men have a male mindset and not all women have a female mindset.
@planetjerm6 жыл бұрын
I think we can just say that an emotional, feelings based mindset is inferior to a rational, facts based mindset in public forums and avoid turning people off to your point by needlessly bringing gender into the idea.
@Muck0066 жыл бұрын
I recently started watching Survivor/Bear Grylls island series and this "feelings based mindset" is pretty clearly a female thing. Just imagine being in a jungle and "voting out" the lumberjill who could actually make life easier ... just because she isnt a bitch like you. Women seem to have ZERO sense of logic and are incapable of "providing for themselves".
@zxyatiywariii86 жыл бұрын
Muck006 I'm a woman and that's definitely a problem that's more prevalent among women. Fwiw, it irritates us logical women. I never saw that Survivor show, but if I were stranded on an island, I'd prefer to be stranded with more men than with more women. We do tend to get too emotional on average. Not all -- but on average. And men _almost_ always make better leaders. It's just how humans evolved. Just like male wolves and female marmosets evolved to have that sex lead their groups.
@giseler.71376 жыл бұрын
zxy atiywariii __ no kidding, I would prefer to be with a male partner in the jungle instead of a woman.
@kmg5016 жыл бұрын
Rebecca, one of the fundamental and unavoidable biologically based differences between men & women is that women are inherently resource consumers while men are resource producers. This is one of the core reasons why women unwittingly support economically destructive policies. Men used to avoid doing the same but due to voting bloc paradigms men have resorted to the same appeals in order to compete for political power. This inevitably results in a long term downward spiral. Now I don't really expect you to agree with me and it is likely that you won't even understand my points. Not because you are a female but rather because my points are generally not well understood in modern society. There is something known as the Cycle of Democracy, this is part of the paradigm that I am referring to. It's an unavoidable consequence of long term prosperity and something that people younger than myself are unfortunately going to be met with. A few more details that might help you understand my POV. I have never been a registered Democrat or a Republican and nor is it likely that I will ever join either one of them. I don't hold my opinions out of a fear or a hatred of women. I just have a very good grasp of human nature and broad swath of history. People are flawed, short sighted and generally very ignorant creatures. Because of these general traits I feel it is best to legislate the least, dictate the least and nudge people the least. The chips must be allowed to fall where they may. The more social and government engineers try to poke and prod people in certain directions, the less stable, the less productive and the less capable a society will become over time. These things are already happening now and there is no signs of these bad trends being mitigated. In fact they are accelerating. I am not a Malthusian but I do have a keen eye for what is happening and memory to contrast the past and present with. Lastly, be aware of "data". I've seen an awful amount of data that is skewed and biased and often deliberately so. When you want to get a good sense of a situation contrast the actual observable results against the claims...

Those people in that initial video clip have lost their professional distance. There is a reason why we all maintain a certain distance in meetings such as this, and avoid getting personal - so it doesn't dissolve into a melee, exactly as happened. Another way to look at it is DYSFUNCTIONAL. It is a dysfunctional group, in a dysfunctional meeting. There is no leadership here. There is no future here.
