That down time with his injuries ruined him... The Morata - Jese duo was incredible in Castilla and the Deuolofeu-Morata-Jese trio at the Spain youth levels really gave hope for a strong future that never came. Pre-injury Jese was a player that could only be compared to the elite level talents. You can blame the girls and the music... but the injuries he suffered weren't easy to return from. We're seeing it now with Ansu Fati.

Even had he not had the women and music... Blaming his private life is easy because it's more in the spotlight than ever before for pros. As if players in 90s were saints. I'm sure the extracurricular stuff played a role... But was it an issue when Michael Owens injuries, which were far less severe, took a toll on his career?

It was 80% his injury and not his lifestyle. He was really really good in Madrids A Team until the clash with kolasinac/S04 in CL. And getting to PSG surely didnt help him either.

Man... Seeing this guy brings me back to those cherished memories i had of the 2013/14 season. I really saw Jesé as one for the future, but his injury and life outside the pitch killed his career and left him to die. It's a real shame... I wouldn't go far to call him the next Ronaldo, but I did believe he could've have been one of the senior players for Real Madrid now. But he's not even a shadow of his former self...

To the people saying that the injury ruined his career, did you not see that he was still putting up good numbers with Real in 2015-16? That was 2 seasons later, meaning he was still a top talent. His problem was the distractions and not focusing on the game.

The injuries he got while still at Real Madrid was what ruined his career, from what I could tell. When he returned from rehabilitation, it was very evident that his agility and explosiveness had both declined quite drastically, and those two qualities were so important to his game. I wished him luck when he joined PSG, but I knew that he was never going to be the same player again.
