I can already think of a bunch of useful features they could add to this, like a counter that tracks the number of NFTs stolen from you, and another tracker that estimates the number of potential sexual partners you've turned off by publicly showing off your NFT. edit: just got to the end where they heavily imply it's going to get you laid, lmao

why not? it tells you a lot about the person! a. they're announcing they have a "valuable" object on a non-regulated platform where transactions are immediate, non reversable..etc. etc. b. the NFT is part of a project, most projects within a few weeks/months will start to show progress on the long term goals...or if it was a quick rug. so this is a simple gullibility indicator ( i.e. we now know if the person is an easy mark) c. if its from a project is that in the very brief "mooning" phase, this is an excellent person to get to know. Why? --1. they're just lucky- no interest --2. good investor? someone to follow --3. insider? great to blackmail! --4. creator of a scam? with good enough evidence the FBI will fund you a beachhouse.

With a cost proportioned to the actual value (and no NFT involved), it could even be a nice thing to have. Maybe put a photo of your parents, your kids, your dog... a Star Wars one when you go to a convention, and so on... Instead of making a ton of custom merch for one photo, you buy one little device and show multiple photos. I admit I'd buy it,for, like, 15$. But surely this is not worth 200 bucks XD

2:40 The funny thing if they really just upload the image it's basically just a digital picture frame. I had such a device on my keychain about 10 years ago (it was just a cheap 5$ device) that ran trough my picture album. They are less common today sometimes they still pop up on ebay, but the takeaway is that it doesn't seem to be anything that didn't exist before (which honestly is a bit of a theme in the crypto & metaverse space)

PS: After some looking around, mine was apparently a "Smartparts SP11P". It had no wireless phone connectivity (because that didn't exist back then), the manual states it's compatible with Windows Vista but nothing about Windows 7 so I'm certain that this was before 2009.

@@Hairy_Takoyaki right, but what they're saying is that the idea would be neat if it was just a display you can load an image or two on. There has to be a market for digital picture frame in this form factor. No network connectivity, just locally stored pictures/gif. Old people will love something like this, carrying around a old timey locket filled with pictures of the grandkids. There's a market for it in the anime community how would want to show off their favorite characters. If you want to go the sentimental route, a slightly more expensive model with NFC function that will trigger certain picture file or effect when tapping on other devices, perfect for couples.

okay, look. If this wasn't attached to NFTs I wouldn't have a problem with it at all. The design seems neat (simple, I'm talking more about what seems like the fact it can be worn in a bunch of different ways). If it was just like one of those digital picture frames then I would think that's cool. Idk, I guess my idea is it would be like...a button that cycles through designs instead of staying static. You could walk around with a 100 buttons without clinking up a storm every time you move! (you know, so long as you're okay with it cycling through them one at a time.) You could even make a template so people can easily make their own designs to put on it. Possibly also with a market place kind of a thing where people can sell or distribute their designs for free. I could really see something like that easily becoming a fad. (probably _just_ a fad though.) You might as well put a clock face on it too since its so circular and its something people would be wearing. 200$ seems like a lot for that premise though. Especially since people would probably lose interest after a year or two.

"If you walk around looking like a dork, maybe other dorks will fuck you" is actually a marketing strategy as old as time. That's more or less how all fashion works.

So it's a dogshit smartwatch with less hardware and no strap, for the same price, that only does one function. Man, I'm in the wrong line of work.

I'd love a cute little bracelet or necklace that displays pngs of my choice! But nothing to do with nfts, just like a locket that can holdd thousands of pictures instead of one.

Honestly, if it was like a $20 keychain or a phone strap where you could program it to change it to different images or something that would be pretty cool.

If you want to "own" a piece of art, commission someone for it and for the rights to it. It would actually be cheaper. That also *actually* gets the artists paid.

This kind of item being worn by anyone tells the rest of us that you have way too much money to throw around, and makes you a target for straight up robbery. It practically screams, "I'm a silly crypto-bro! Please rob me!" The third option is a key ring of a sort. That's what they mean by carabiner.

🤦🤦And the taxi part..."get the product, get the girl"; one of the most ancient of ad ploys... 🤦🤦🤦 What would really be fun is a device that immediately follows the URL of someone else's NFT and immediately displays it on your device (or phone). "Hey cool! I just stole it for later, see?"
