At the end of last year I released a Wholesome Internet Stories megacompilation. Alot of you seemed to like revisiting the old stories in one place. So...this year I turned the concept on its head...A compilation video I like to call the Internet True Crime RABBIT HOLE. This video contains internet true crime stories talked about on the channel within the last couple of years. I've formatted the videos in this compilation from least obscure to most obscure. The Deeper you go the weirder it gets. 2023 was a big year for the channel and I appreciate you all supporting the videos featured in this compilation. I hope each of you have a great holiday and a happy new year. Thanks for watching. - wavy

Damn, Robert Krampf only got 4 years for CP, but the reddit guy was possibly facing 50 years for downloading academic papers? This speaks volumes about the systems in place and people with power.
@SSheezCrafty
@SSheezCrafty 4 ай бұрын
rK probably turned evidence on the people who made the cp. Somehow interpol in Europe was already well aware of Daisy's Destruction before Peter Scully s downfall. The guy who made the site that put consumers in touch with Scully didn't get much trouble I believe... It's probably like any other system where the bigger fish is the prize
@SSheezCrafty
@SSheezCrafty 4 ай бұрын
Also because of trolls who sent innocent links to people either individually or posted on 4chan etc , potential viruses that could flood your computer with illicit images, or a planted plug in drive of CP, there has been tightening in what can be prosecuted with out reasonable doubt like the above situations, there has to be downloading, not streaming, and a trail between the computer in question and off computer storage of files... This can also decrease the amount that can be included in the case if a person is not a cp uploader / producer. If the person didn't make videos for uploading, and was not caught personally sending nudes and requesting from minors breaking additional laws of using communication devices or the internet to procure indecent images from victimss and send as well, a person usually knows every law, loophole, and grey area and might just stream what they can or purchase a USB hard drive of the files and the drive might be found but no downloading or uploading trail exists and unless the purchase can be proven, large quantities may be dropped from the final prosecution because it can't be definitely proven to belong to the person. Only what is printed, on video or dvd, or downloaded from the computer or device being investigated. And as vulgar and incomprehensible as CP is, just how many years do you think an overcrowded prison system can give to a first time nonviolent offender who couldn't be tied to any actual assaults and or CP production? Unfortunately we can't lock them up and throw away the keys but can try to chemically and therapy reform them to prevent the next progression and if that fails at least identify and monitor them and put restrictions in cyberspace activity and irl locations they can be arrested for breaking and create a documented history of these behaviors if he manages to reofdend

remember kids: if you are stabbed, try to prevent the knife from being pulled out until you are in a hospital, for the knife actually prevents a much larger bloodloss through the open wound! if able, put wrappings like towels around the knife, and if the knife gets pulled out by someone else who isnt a doctor and you are somehow save enough to look for help, apply as much pressure as you can on the wound with towels or whatever else you can get to hamper the bloodloss and try to find someone who can help you call an ambulance if you cannot do it yourself!

Regarding Aaron Swartz: people often underestimate how much money goes into big academic institutions like MIT and how important and threatening what Swartz was doing regarding freedom of knowledge. Prosecution wasnt being ludicrous, they were trying to make an example out of him. Some even believe that he was murdered, although nobody can validate that. Either way, he ended up a martyr. Rest in power, Aaron. Sharing and accessing knowledge freely is a right.

The Aron Swartz story is so sad to me. He was treated terribly by the other 2 founders of Reddit, he was just a guy who believed in information being accessible to everyone. He hacked jstore to make those papers and everything accessible to students because college is a scam. Then the Reddit founders had the audacity to try and erase him from Reddit history by removing him as a co-founder on their site after he died. He was just a nerdy Robin Hood, a hero for real. They wanted to give 50 years because they knew how much power he could have. The reasoning for him taking his own life is plausible, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it was the government either.

In regards to the Aaron Swartz case, academic journals should be free to access, no money from access to those journals goes to the researchers who actually did the work in the first place (some journals even charge to get work published in them, and the costs can be quite high), and all of the peer reviewing is done by academic peers for free, theres no charge involved. There is a scrutiny and editing process to make it confrom to the journals guidlines, but that is different depending on the journal. Access to academic research, should be publicly available.

3:01:46 Just want to mention for the girl JT that was diagnosed with DID. Her DID was NOT the cause of her killing her step mother, DID does NOT make you murder people nor does it automatically make you dangerous. She’d had the disorder for at the least 3 years (based on when a person can develop DID and how old as she) and from my understanding there was no signs of murderous intentions before. Her getting diagnosed with DID is just a result of her getting a proper mental evaluation from several different doctors. The only reason why she murdered is because of her pre existing paranoia combined with her reading about the creepypastas. Just wanted to mention this because I know someonr is going to blame it on her DID.

I actually wonder if this phrase partially inspired the South Park episode “Informative Murder P*rn.” If you don’t know, it’s about the town’s children freaking out over their parents getting finding arousal from watching True Crime shows involving couples; and the panic increases tenfold when an actual spousal murder takes place. The kids set up a parental lock using a password they believe adults wouldn’t get: “How do you tame a horse in Minecraft?” So the adults start learning how to play the game for answers, and eventually start using Minecraft to act out their dark fantasies instead.

Considering the problems we face because of astonishing levels of science-denial the fact that Aaron faced such aggressive prosecution from every level of the government for trying to provide access to academic research is disturbing. The degree to which current scientific information is actively withheld from the general public is problematic.

It honestly freaks me out to hear stories like that, even when the animal is okay in the end, because like most people I just can't comprehend the thinking. It's like looking at a monster in human skin. I know that's silly to emphasize when crimes against children etc exist, obviously those make me feel the same way, but just... HOW does a human's mind idly tell them to hurt something innocent and trusting? I just can't understand how I'm the same species as her. And look how freaking old she was, she lurked through life like this for 60-some years. EDIT: apparently she was only 45. LOL

She got a tip, not sure if she woulda picked up on it without it. Possibly it was the girl herself who tipped her off. Also thought it was so weird that Judge Middleton was involved in 2 separate viral zoom videos lol

It has taken me all day to watch this because I kept falling asleep (because I'm sick, not because of anything to do with the vid). And even though I'd already watched all the individual episodes that make up this compilation, I'm still really glad I watched this whole thing again. Thanks Wavy! Additional thanks for keeping volume consistent. A lot of compilations end up all over the place, but this is great. No startling volume raises while I napped
