George foi um dos campeoes mundiais mais velhos que teve. Ele ainda era bem forte e tecnivo velho. Em compensaçao o maguila nao durou nem 2 rounds. Ele nunca foi nada de excepcional no boxe. O unico fodao mesmo de boxe br foi eder jofre@@PatriciadaSilvaParanhos

Maguila é nivel amador se tivesse nos estados unidos ele nem conseguiria ser campeao creio. So deve ter ganhado campeonato nacional pq o nivel aqui ta baixo. Grande Maguila. Lutou com um adversário mais alto, com maior envergadura e bem mais pesado. Mais importante de tudo, esse adversário era George Foreman.

Adilson Maguila foi um grande lutador brasileiro que teve a grande oportunidade de lutar com três grandes lutadores norte-americanos, infelizmente não conseguiu vitórias com nenhum dos três mas temos muito orgulho dele, hoje eles passa por uma situação muito ruim de saúde mas continua vivo e lutando contra o mal de Parkinson e Alzheimer, mas nós temos orgulhos de Adilson Maguila e pedimos respeito a vocês norte-americanos é o mundo inteiro porque ele foi um grande lutador. 6:12 Notice how George hid the left hook behind his missed overhand right by using his right glove and forearm to blind his opponent? Big George was an excellent tactician with unbelievable patience. He knew how to set up devestating punches without having to rely on volume. You don't have to have a huge aresenal of moves if you do just a few things very very well. George could throw any punch, but his bread and butter was always using the jab to set up the straight right, the cross, the overhand right. If he missed with the right hand, he would nail you with that short left hook. He didn't throw a lot of punches, and George would keep things simple for a few rounds so that you would start throwing more punches while getting more confident. Most guys didn't even see that right hand, or left hook coming, and George knew how to hide punches with angles, and using his arms and gloves to blind opponents, or manipulate their guard, and posture. It's like fighting a huge crab with a thick shell covering it's body, and those big long arms made it hard to get through his guard. You couldn't back the guy up no matter how much you hit him. Foreman was a tank.

Beautiful breakdown. George is/was the most economical heavyweight I’ve ever watched and he had tremendous “presence” in the ring. No matter who he fought and even if he was losing he still had the gravity of someone who could end you once he found you.

Thats way too complicated, Donavon. This is what happened... Foreman simply figured out the other guys rhythm. His rhythm was that he could be hit with the left hand if it was the third punch of the combination. That is what happened.

Didn't have the chin or heart for Foreman. That's not an insult, most sane people wouldn't. Stepping into a ring with big punchers is scary, and many fighters have lost before the fight starts. With guys like Foreman and Tyson.

I don't believe any boxer was ever more powerful than George back in those days. He just made his nuclear punches look so effortless. If you have ever watched George train outside as well as inside the gym, you'd agree.

None of the Top Heavyweights during that time period wanted no piece of Foreman. Tyson avoided him like plague, Lennox Lewis didn't want to fight him, Riddick Bowe wanted no piece of him. The only top fighters who had the guts to fight him were Briggs, Morrison and the Great Evander Holyfield.

@@NillFore Cara, não é questão de ser "hater", mas sim de bom senso. A razão sempre deve estar acima do patriotismo! É inegável que o Maguilla foi um dos maiores pesos-pesados da história do Brasil (senão o maior), mas em relação à competitividade contra os melhores da categoria, ficou bem aquém. Contra Foreman e Holyfield, o Maguilla, em nenhum momento, esteve sequer perto de ameaçá-los. Em outras palavras, não deu nem pro cheiro. Foi um milagre ter conseguido chegar ao segundo round sem ser nocauteado. Parecia um amador contra profissionais... o que comprova o nível pífio do boxe brasileiro. Popó e Éder Jofre, campeoníssimos mundiais, sim, merecem ser reverenciados de forma significativa. Maguilla foi, no máximo, um "sparring" de luxo... Aceite essa triste realidade!

There's been many hard hitters thru out the history of the heavyweights..The consensus is that Ernie Shavers was the hardest hitter ..George is usually in the top 5 if not the top 3...But the major difference George has over all the hard hitters is that George is so damn heavy handed..Meaning, a slight hit from George can put you out, just as well as a hard hitter would throw his hardest...When you're heavy handed, you don't have to try to hit your opponent with all your might, Any incoming from George, whether it's slow or fast, it's gonna hurt like hell and even knock you OUT, lol

Foreman would have destroyed this garbage heavyweight era where nobody actually wants to fight each other. Was fun watching his cross guard defense upon his comeback and winning the belt again.

@@RogerYeahmon What?!? Fury's biggest win is a 40 year old Klitschko. Joshua's biggest win is a 41 year old Klitschko. Wilder's biggest win is a 40 year old Ortiz. Whyte's biggest win is a 40 year old Povetkin. Usyk is already the heavyweight champ after 2 heavyweight fights and has already 2 title defenses at heavyweight. Even Wilder weighed 209 pounds during the first Fury fight and most of his career....

@@RogerYeahmon You have no clue what you're talking about. Foreman during his comeback was 6.4 and 260+ pounds. Heavyweights back in the days cut a lot of water weight like wrestlers and didn't lift weights, so Foreman only did cardio and boxing work in his prime days. Usyk boxed Joyce's head off back in the days. Joyce recently got ko'd by a 40 year old Zhang. This heavyweight era is garbage and weakest along with the Klitschko era. Francis wrestled to a victory against Gane in his last MMA fight and looked like Joe Louis against Fury. Joyce has ZERO defensive abilities and doesn't have much of technical skills unlike Foreman.

@@alcottdevalte7440 Foreman is too small, also incredibly slow.. too easy to hit.. Foreman has NEVER faced a bigger and heavier man beside a few bum journeymen (by design).. in this current era, Foreman would have no advantages whatsoever.
