Thank you so much for your comment.… Swing forward with the arms. The golf swing is a backward forward motion.… Thanks so much

So I kept thinking about making a tennis ball and rope training aid. Then I ran into a fellow using balls in a sock and eventually I remembered that I had a "Gold Flex". As soon as I got home I grabbed that thing and NOW I know how to use it. I was doing it all wrong before. You are probably well aware, and I might do the ball/rope thing too yet. Manuel's book is speeding my way. Thanks for helping me see the light and for being responsive to inquiries. I wish you much more continued success. If I can't work it out, I may try a video lesson with you. Cheers!

When I think about taking the club back with my hands - I tend to not get enough shoulder turn. I get a little too much lift and not enough turn. Any thoughts?
@815TeeTimeInc

Good morning... Allowing yourself to respond fully to the golf club to the golf club will give you all of the turn you are able to have... You must be relaxed enough to allow yourself to respond to the golf club.

Hey Trish, I love the idea of the simple tennis ball and rope, because for me, it takes the "golf" (hitting the ball) out of it, and leaves you grooving your rhythm and motion. Because I can only focus on one thing at a time. ha. How can obtain one from you?

@@815TeeTimeInc For me, I hit quite a lot of fat/chunky shots, hitting the ground before the ball, even if I do try to stay balanced on the backswing. Just followup videos on how the backswing should feel from a wrist hinge perspective, pressure on feet, etc. I think I have a fairly good grasp on the idea of swinging with the arms but having a hard time figuring out the backswing. Been watching a lot of Manuel De la Torre videos as well and trying to implement his swing advice. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Do we square the club at impact with the left hand or right hand for a right hand golfer? Never heard Manuel talk about that
@815TeeTimeInc
@815TeeTimeInc 4 ай бұрын
Hello there, thank you so much for your question. I don’t know that I ever discussed that with (Manuel) either. He believed as do I.… That if you swing the club forward with your arms in the direction of the target, the club will be square at impact to the target line.

I love this swing. It’s so effortless and I can repeat it. I asked the question cause the majority of my shots fade or my miss is a push. So I was wondering if we need to be purposefully squaring the back of the left hand (for right handed) to the ball at impact to square the club face
@815TeeTimeInc
@815TeeTimeInc 3 ай бұрын
@jclifts6650 I’m so glad you are enjoying the swing.… The only thing I caution you about is if you think about squaring the back of your hand to the target at impact. You may lose sight of the golf club so to speak.…

if you set up to the ball with the back of the lead wrist as flat as the lower and fore arm (then the cocking of the wrist is upwards) there is no need ever to have that improper position at the top of the backswing

Just curious about the chip and pitch shots do you swing back with the hands and forward with the arms? Ernest Jones taught using your hands only and letting everything else follow?
@815TeeTimeInc
@815TeeTimeInc 4 жыл бұрын
Good morning.... Thank you so very much for your comment. The main difference between Ernest Jones and Manuel De la Torre is that Jones spoke about swing the clubhead with your hands. Manuel De la Torre talks about swinging the whole club back with your hands forward with your arms. That being said.... For the Chip Shot or the pitch shot or the puppet for that matter it is more about swinging the whole club with a high Center. Your hands become more passive because the circle and the swing are so small. Does that make sense?
@Freddie305
@Freddie305 4 жыл бұрын
@@815TeeTimeInc Well, are you using the hands or the arms? I normally use the weight of the clubhead and swing it with my hands to the target. I get a lot of skulled shots under pressure. So can we get simple answer hands or arms? Puppet??

@@815TeeTimeInc Thanks that was easy. I have used the Ernest Jones method for over 20 years and for the most part never better than a 16Hcp. I was taught the original method of using the hands and letting the body follow. Using the front fingers thumbs and first forefinger and concentrate on the clubhead weight and swinging motion and forget about the target. What got me interested in Manuel's take on the swing was the Moe Norman video when he switched to Manuels method and started striking 300-yard drives from shoulder height!! If someone like Moe Norman can switch to this method it kind of wakes you up a Little. I always thought it was important to feel the motion and clubhead with your hands and use them all the time for this method. Sorry to bother you so much but I am struggling with this. I love the method because it is really pain-free ion the back and I am 65 years old.

Trish, add older men to your list. Getting laid off at the top is the kiss of death. I don’t recall in either his books or videos Manuel specified pushing the club away while taking it back. So many thanks for clarifying!
