In this eye-opening video, we delve into the heart-wrenching reality of the Bedouin community, facing an imminent threat of extinction. Journey through the windswept landscapes of the Middle East as we explore the intrinsic beauty of their nomadic lifestyle, threatened by modernization and geopolitical limitations.
Through captivating storytelling and carefully selected visuals, we shed light on the rich heritage and fascinating traditions of the Bedouins, known for their unrivalled hospitality and deep commitment to honour of self and of community. However, time is not on their side. Rapid urbanization and cultural assimilation have pushed this ancient society to the brink of vanishing.
Witness the struggles faced by the Bedouins as they adapt to an ever-changing world, striving to preserve their identity in the face of adversity. Join us to ignite a dialogue about the preservation of this unique culture, before it becomes a mere page in history.
Please join the Chronicles where we present content related to Arab and Muslim culture but in a modern and neutral point of view. We are attempting to document our history, heritage and identity through our own perspectives and expressions.

I remember once when hiking with my friends in Jordanian desert we got lost and found a Bedouin tent and from it appeared a woman who was alone when she heard our story she insisted we stay in guest area of tent and wait her husband she even made us coffee and when her husband came he was very welcoming and insisted we have lunch together before leading us to other campers. Their hospitality is very genuine and later on I learned that treating guests with high respect and offering food and water is not merely expression of politeness but necessary mean of survival because when they get lost or stranded the only mean of survival is through kindness of hospitable hosts who will provide sustenance, shelter and guidance.

Wow! You experienced the duty of Dhiyafah/Hospitality first hand. And the details of your memory are so enforcing to the nature of Bedouins who look out for everyone when in the desert. The desert is harsh and their commitment to aiding and assisting is second to none. Truly wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing Anis!

I just found your channel. Its a great channel that promotes arab culture. I would say that Bedouin culture is still very much alive in many arab countries. When I visited Saudi Arabia, almost everyone I asked could tell me their tribe and some people are still nomadic. Also, to add to your point about tribes that migrated to North Africa, one famous example of this is the Banu Hilal tribe that migrated from Najd in central arabia to Libya where they are now settled.

HOR thanks so much for sharing your experience in KSA. Yes there are indeed parts of the Arab world that still is founded on Bedouin principles and tribal loyalties. Same goes for some tribes in North Africa. Thank you as well for your kind words of support.

The interconnectedness of modern society can sometimes contribute to the erosion of unique cultural practices and values. It's crucial for societies to find ways to preserve and appreciate diversity, fostering an environment where different ways of life can coexist and thrive.

That’s great insight legypte. If we look across the Middle East we can actually see the erosion as you say. Within single societies and further evidenced by looking at the collection of nations as a whole. Preserving will be touch but some aspects will be easier than others. The toughest parts are the behavioural elements that will change with the times. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for watching.

The positive aspects of bedouin live are still with Arabs like us in Jordan, Palestine, and the gulf states. We have that and we have Islam to hopefully be a guide for us in the future. All Arabs were bedouin at some point.

I agree with you. And very true that all Arabs at some point were bedouins, but each have their own journey along the path from a migratory people to an urbanised population. This shift can sometimes cause some challenges in the behaviour of people such as taking the law and justice into their own hands, but overall, many of the positive aspects are retained. Thank you for sharing.

Oh the Bedu Upon them the steeds of Rashidun and Banu Ummaya ride from the depths of France to the borders of China only for tribalism to wreck it all and remains an age old paradox of loyalty to tribal shiekh or to the state

Tribalism is a paradox in the age of modernity. Loyalties are constantly questioned.

I thought this video was very well researched however I have some disagreements with some of the points you pointed out. Bedouins did existed before islam yes but islam has rewarded us for chivalrous actions and been just in the way it handler any tribal disputes. Yes most of us live modern lives nowadays however we still like to go back to living in the desert and herding goats and sheep, a lot of us practice it as a hobby now a days

History of bedouins and Islam is very tangled ever since Islam started with plenty of bedouin tribes supporting the message of Islam in its early years most of which exist to this very day.
@tareqkandari7277
@tareqkandari7277 27 күн бұрын
That is very true. But we shouldn't forget that before the enlightenment of the faith, there were still people who had traditions and characteristics that existed for many millennia. Islam actually took these and integrated them into the faith. And hence why the message was powerful and easily assimilated into both sedentary and nomadic peoples.

It is not for weak of heart and most probably why it has been so effective in the stability of these societies over the centuries while also secluded in the depths of a harsh desert climate.

The world today has a barbaric justice system. ICC (International Criminal Court) prosecutor, Karim Khan, was threatened while conducting investigations against top Israeli officials like Netanyahu and was told that the criminal court wasn't made for "them", rather, for "Africa and thugs such as Putin". Many war criminals are free today. Was George W. Bush ever persecuted for his crimes against the Arabs? Was Obama? Was Hillary Clinton? Was Britain, France?
