FNC feelt like a 4th seed that barely made worlds, but on the topic of extremely shitty LEC teams that arent G2: We are talking all the time how G2 has issues with finding good practice, but how come that the other teams improve slower than them? They have one of the best practice partners available, where the players take every scrim seriously and genuinely want to improve, and somehow no other team improves even remotely as fast, either because they are that incapable or just go in, expect to quickly lose and get on with their days

Imagine you have a rec league basketball team and you regularly practice scrim against NBA pros who aren't telling you how to improve. It would take a very intelligent coach and very highly motivated players in order to learn much other than 'these guys are way more talented than us'

BDS actually did improve very fast this split in terms of their macro and play around wave states, and against Fnatic in the lower bracket finals, they probably had the better team play. It's just unfortunate that their key players seem to have taken the Spring 2023 finals loss really hard, and have a mental block. As for Vitality, their shot calling seems to be from Hylissang/Carrzy. And those two play as if they can't see the minimap. Or have working function keys. Similar issue with Fnatic, where Noah seems to want to play a slower game (just based off one "legends in action" clip, so could be wrong), while Razork and Humanoid seem to want to play faster.

@@nikhildeodhar143 The problem with BDS is that they don't have the talent. Not a single one of these players is top 3 at their role at their peak. Labrov maybe... As a team they are easily the best after G2 and even their macro is probably the best after them. It's just their individual skill which is lacking.

I think Monte is missing a lot of context in regards to a european superleague in football. I don't personally know anybody who would want that or deep down want that. I can give some hints of things to consider: The culture and the stories of regional leagues are so much better than a superleague. Fans actually travel to ALL the games that a team has, which would be a lot harder and more expensive for superleague teams. We also have 2 very successful european tournaments with the europa league and the champions league. Unlike LOL, I don't feel like international games are too rare. The entire ecosystem is relegation based and financial peculiarities also have to be considered. ___ I am not saying that a european superleague would never work or has no place in football, BUT I really don't know any single person who would like a european superleague. ( The guys who came up with that idea were some clubs with oil money, afaik ).

Noone would like it, domestic leagues and titles mean a lot to the fans who have been supporting these teams longer than the league of legends eSports scene has existed. eSports is too young as a scene and too unstable to have fan bases like football does.

The argument people use is that you would get marquee matchups every week, but part of the reason why those games are so special is because they only happen a couple times a year. If you have el Classico every other week it loses its magic

Regardless of Fakers overall form this tournament, that Ahri game 5 was soooooo refreshing to see. I was hoping T1 would drop the Ahri ban vs BLG for Faker to pivot to. All i need now is Chovy and Knight to teach each other a lesson on Ahri in GEN/BLG. 🤤

It’s a combination of things, burnout + wrist injury + bad meta for their team + insane pressure. I do think the wrist injury is playing up again for sure but the other issues are equally as prevalent, this is not to take away from how good the other teams are at the tournament also. If T1 can still somehow manage to place 3rd that’ll be a good result for them, considering that’s where most experts had them ranked before the tournament.

I feel like a good question to ask to get some more genuine analytical responses when talking about an insane mismatch like T1 vs TL is like “Which lane do you think is the closest?” Or “Could the experience of players like Core or Impact have any effect on individual matchups?” Either way excited to see how everything plays out!!

I think it is hard when I look at T1 and I am like what do i think everyone is actually good out to ban. Like kinda Ashe, but there is no longer Cait, Aatrox, varus, rell. These use to be champs you had to ban. Now you do not care what they pick besides what Faker gets. BLG said afterwards that if you can make faker not roam then it is easier. Either Faker has to find a new champ he can roam on. Or they need a new style like they did at worlds. Make it to where more then just banning 3-5 champs from faker and picking one of them if you do not ban it.

The only problem is not much time in MSI to learn a new playstyle, and this lane swap meta doesn't fit theirs and without Faker roaming yes they just looked lost like last summer without Faker. Hopefully, they will find something to at least get placed in this msi.

This 100%. Majority of the people didn't think FNC vs GENG was the closest 3-0 series. Majority of the people were just happy FNC had a chance to win in some games and thought that means they can maybe be competitive against other LPL and LCK teams. And fans definitely aren't happy with FNC's performance at MSI. His whole point was about how EU fans are happy with how FNC played. I've seen nothing but FNC being shit on by fans ever since the series ended yesterday.

I think T1 is probably a better team then TES and G2, if they were to all play a 100 game round-robin against each other T1 probably comes out with the best record but they just don't look they then could ever beat GENG or BLG. Whereas I do think G2 or TES could catch them on a bad day and get a series win like 1 out of 10 times.

I genuinely think T1 played really well. Faker got banned out like crazy and still had at least some moments. Nobody else on the team really could carry without him, though. I just htink BLG is a better team and has better players and has better macro around bot lane (best Lucian-Nami team in the world). BLG played seriously and this is what happens. They should be a top 2 team and the drop-off between top 2 and the rest seems to be quite huge.

Well BLG is also a favorite to win the entire tournament, so using T1's performance against BLG isn't the best gauge on how they'll do against TL. It could still be a T1 3-0 still just from the hands diff and the fact that it's NA.

I would at least expect Knight to do well into Faker unlike what happened at worlds but yeah Faker is definitely running it down here. Faker does have a champion pool and his play is not reflecting on it very well.

Insane that going with Humanoid is good narrative from years ago. BRO he sucked every game without LB. Even with LB he was scared from Chovy and didn't press Sol with 6 kills He got destroyed by APA game 3. Got tilted and had 4 mid bans in game 4. APA shit on him despite 4 mid bans in game 4. Humanoid eats all resources and does nothing useful

@@Loutripe I honestly don't think he will be exposed. The one quality which APA has over other midlaners is that he is very clutch, and has solid decision making, even if he is not at the top level mechanically. He is probably the NA Yagao.

The guy has never beaten a better team ever in a Best of Series and lost to many weaker teams yet he always get praised. The guy got blasted by a Freskowy in Game 5 for gods sake. It's nice that we finally get to see Chovy vs Knight but holy hell is this meta so awful to watch. I think the BLG vs T1 series would have been better to watch if T1 stopped their prio of Senna Tahm knowing that Kalista/Lucian lanes were going to show up(and you self counterpick this shit wtf T1?). It also feels interesting to see how BLG is willing to play LCK-esque style to beat T1. That game 4 literally felt like I was watching an LCK game and T1 slowly falling apart and getting outmacroed. BLG had a clear game plan and executed it well against T1 but watching the series unfold felt awful to watch. If the first Chovy vs Knight bo5 match up ends up like this it'll be unbearable and boring. This is not the kind of epic clash that I want to see.

their prio should be lucian especially after seeing jkl on that champ.... they should also drop kalista(not unless it sup) prio cause its never gonna work with how they play(going all in no peel for their adc)... This is simply not the T1 meta. Zeus is carry top, not a tank. Faker's champion pool is very small, when they ban his champions, he is useless... Guma also makes many mistakes in lane. I think G2 should've won vs T1, but G2 themselves made many mistakes and two of their players simply didn't perform in G4 and G5 (Yike and Hans). So yes, T1 loss vs BLG was expected. People doubted BLG, because PSG took two games from them. But I think that BLG can win vs GenG pretty easily. Fnatic are simply a trash team at this point. I don't know what they are doing, but we can clearly see what they are NOT doing... Deservedly lost to TL, TL played the map better and Fnatic were very arrogant in G1, then got tilted when they started losing. This is what happened there. LEC is going really worse over the years, quality of gameplay, especially in season 2023-2024, is extremely bad.

Monte, I love you, you're great, but the European Super League happening for football 1:19:15 would have been the death of the sport. It would take too long to explain all the reasons why in one youtube comment, but zero football fans (other than very young/new ones) wanted that to happen. I think the way American sports are run work great in their ecosystems, I've been a basketball fan since I was 3 (my cousin played international basketball in Asia), but it would not work here in Europe.

If Chovy was solo-killing Humanoid, they would be licking his balls… But when APA solo-kills Humanoid… all of the sudden FNC is just bad, or APA got a lucky meta Now instead of saying Yeon is improving… Monte says Yeon got lucky because he got to practice with good players… Monte’s head would explode if he was ever forced to give anyone from NA honest praise

@@TonyLee-fm2fy The consensus was that FNC was sus as fuck the entire time, the consensus was that the LEC outside of G2 was shit the entire time, run into the ground by bad management, bad player distribution and a weird obsession with ERL players when there are perfectly valid veterans waiting for a job, and the consensus about FNC has been the entire time that if Razork doesnt perform, FNC has a very bad time, the only good thing to come out of the LEC the last two years was this G2 team with the background staff The reason why everyone expected FNC to win was because Razork, the nail that holds this team together was performing in LEC and the beginning of MSI, while TL was struggling to get going, and if you assume that both teams are about equally strong, you´d automatically pick the team that was somewhat performing over the team that wasnt
