You guys should really re-read the magic section of the rulebook again, because unless you're using house-rules it's a bit of a disaster. If you roll for a spell and you need a 5 for it to go off, and roll 2 dice, one of them being a 5 and the other a 6, doesn't mean the spell goes off twice, it simply goes off once on the highest dice roll, a 6. So then the other player gets to resist, he doesn't just roll a dice for each will point until he resists, he declares beforehand how many dice he wants to use to try and resist, and then rolls those at the same time. So let's say you have 3 Will points, you might decide to use 2 of those to resist, if you roll a 6 on any of those, you get the will point back for each 6. You don't roll one, then another one, and then another one until you either resist of run out of Will, you declare it before you roll. Enjoying the video overall and don't mean to come across as rude by the way, just figured I'd help out a bit. Magic is a bit tricky, and definitely worth re-reading if you're not entirely sure. Also to chime in, I like the longer videos personally, I often "watch" battle reports while painting, so the longer the better in that case, but that might not be relevant for everyone.

Ok great. Thanks for the help! Magic is definitely something we need to practice. We started playing upon initial release, then took a break and are a little rusty on certain parts of the rules. Don't hesitate to correct us on any mistakes 👍😊

You're equally one of the biggest channels for MESBG battle reports aswell as one of the most shakey with the rules. This is why I've taken the time to point out every rule-inaccuracy in this report. Honestly I don't know if I'll continue watching your reports because with all those mistakes the games move far away from how they would've gone with a better grasp of how the game works (it was especially bad in this one). That's my blunt personal feedback. That doesn't mean that I begrudge you a single viewer. I'm happy that there are so many people that enjoy your videos just the way they are. With that being said: 11:55 you have to roll all dice for your roll to resist at once, you can't just keep spending Will points like with Fate 19:30 prone models can immediately stand up in their move phase. 21:45 I really expected you to gear the Fellowship fully out which would have put Frodo at D6 with his mithril coat. Not sure if you decided against it or forgot that he has it 23:20 starting the move of a model, casting with a different model and then continuing the move with the first model is VERY wrong as pointed out by your Fellowship player. It was also equally unnessecary because Gandalf probably had some line of sight anyway 23:46 heroic actions, which channeling is, are declared at the start of their respective phase. As soon as the first model is moved no heroic channeling can be declared. 24:29 resisting doesn't work like that. You only have to match the highest casting roll once. 28:09 no mistake just the missed opportunity of Sam calling a free heroic combat 29:30 you never re-roll a re-roll 29:40 Frodo was not dead, he had one wound left aswell as Might to modify a Fate roll of 3 or declare a heroic defence 32:49 that's even 4 wounds because Gimli gets +2 to wound in that fight: +1 for two handing (I know he two-handed because he only rolled two dice) and +1 for having fewer kills than Legolas 37:07 missed opportunity to blow Boromir's horn (even though Oin is Courage 6) and for Bifur to kall a heroic strike (at the start of the fight phase of course) which would've helped in other fights aswell. No mistake either, just would've been a very sensible choice. 39:07 again, two wounds caused by Gimli because he still gets +1 for having fewer kills than Legolas 40:22 you've said that it is your house rule that you don't do D2 roll-offs but I didn't think that you'd re-roll ALL the dice instead. Which changes the game balance a LOT. But maybe that's what you intend. I thought you'd just both roll 1 dice and the winner wins the fight. 49:38 Gandalf can re-roll Fate rolls 50:40 Thorin had equal Fight value to Aragorn so it would've been another re-roll thing 55:26 It is true that you can't do anything against 6s with higher Fight value. You CAN do something against the higher Fight value. It's one of the most important heroic actions. 55:38 did you not roll for Gandalf and Bilbo because they're lower Fight than Legolas? Because all attacks in a duel always use the highest Fight value on their side. 58:33 you always do this but here it really matters: You don't roll to wound and then get to distribute your dice to whoever you like depending on if a certain roll would've wounded one model but not another. You say at whom you strike and then roll to wound- one attack at a time or all at once. 59:37 not important for the game but for the sake of consistency: Gandalf has S5 attacks with Glamdring

Some of the things you pointed out were intentional decisions. Some of them we mentioned in the video itself when we realised it was too late. For example, re rolling fate rolls with gandalf, James remembered when it was too late. As for the other things, we are trying our best, there was a lot of heroes in this game with a lot of rules to remember. It's surprisingly harder when you also have to concentrate on presenting and filming (we are running the 4 cameras ourselves) we don't want to spend half the video flicking through the rule book to check things, not fun viewing haha. But appreciate you pointing out the mistakes. Trying to improve with every report. No problem if you won't watch again... Thanks for your time helping us here 👍

Another great video guys! =) That was a close battle and Bilbo is a legend for taking out The Three Hunters! =) Wasn't quite sure which team to go for as I really like characters from both teams, but Aragorn and Legolas have always been a firm favourite for me, so if I had to decide then team Fellowship. =) Definitely like the way you guys are already doing your videos and think you should keep them as they are. Not too short and not too long, a good power hour is an ideal length of time to average at I think. =) I enjoy watching the whole battle and like the way you fast forward bits to get the the action, but am still able to see the whole game without missing anything. If you cut bits out, it wouldn't feel smooth or a complete experience. You are very entertaining to watch and I like everything about the way you do your videos (including The Broken Sword), so keep up the amazing work guys! =)

Sorry guys but this has to be the most painful battle report of yours to watch out of the ones I have watched as so many basic mistakes. I understand individual model rules can be forgotten as I do that sometimes but the basic rules are shocking in this video I couldn't watch the whole thing. Looking through the comments they have been listed so not gonna waste time doing that. Also house rules shouldn't be done in my opinion as if a new player wanted to watch they would get confused. I don't recall you saying about house rules at the beginning sorry if I am wrong. Not my idea of a good watch. Simple, rules from book no house rules would work better for me. I feel sorry for the guy on the left as in most of the reports I have watched his dice are like mine BAD lol. I like the concept of the videos. Cheers guys.

It's a pity that when the very last command/compel against Aragorn goes through, but because gandalf doesn't have any might it is not channelled. So Aragorns fight value never gets half. Aragorn could have easily won the game by himself if his fight value wasn't lowered. Which in your occasion was a little mistake that could have been the game for the Fellowship.

In case still relevant here are some rules pointers: 1. might can be used on fate rolls. This wasn't done for the majority of the battle even if it would have saved a life. 2. If you win a fight when knocked prone you stand up 3. Magic has already been pointed out, you only need to resist the highest number rolled 4. You're supposed to declare who you're rolling to wound against before rolling, though I get if this is a house rule 5. Remember losers back away at the end of the fight, this is relevant for manoeuvring also, fellowship should have totally taken bill the pony! the hobbits treat him as a banner. Other than that, good video. :)

#TeamFellowship I think your video length is good, presentation is one of the best i've come across for MESBG bat reps! I think Thorins co would of benefitted more for calling a couple heroic strikes, giving them higher fight and potentially forcing the fellowship to copy and burn out of might faster too. But great win to the Co, keep at it guys!

A comment from a buddy of mine who just wants you guys to follow the rules more closely has commented: "Well magic. They treat every successful die used as a separate cast they need to stop. Gandalf used compel on aragorn and he rolled 2 4s. Aragorns player then rolled a 5 first, stopping the spell but the other guy said he had to roll another to stop the second one. Thats brutal. It let gandalf body the fellowship pretty easily. No strikes. But the main duel issue was every friendly model in the same combat counts as having the same fight value for the entire duel. They acknowledged that they just prefer to reroll instead of 1-3 4-5 roll off but they really need to use every model in the fight gets the highest fight value"

I'm happy with the length you are publishing. I feel this battle was a better representation of the numbers conquer might theory than your elves v trolls combat, which seemed, to me, very one-sided, despite the equivalence in point value. That said, the Fellowship did very well here, given the discrepancy in point value between them and Thorin's Company. Did you state what the point value of each side was? I don't recall hearing it, but I might have missed it.

Frodo shouldn’t have died from that first hit as you could have only done one wound against him by the die results. There were two rerolls of ones and then you rerolled a reroll (which is not allowed unless you have some sort of standing house rule I am unaware of) to do a second wound on him. Also, magic successes are not cumulative requiring multiple resists (unless house rule), the multiple dice only serve to increase the chance of rolling a single success, requiring a single resist success, not multiple. Otherwise enjoying the video, models, terrain, and the battle. 😁

Hyphotesis: Dori and Thorin are da strong bois in team Company, but fellowship got powerhouses Gandalf, Aragorn and Legolas, plus, a second breakfast, I'd say the Fellowship wins even with just Aragorn Boromir Gandalf and Legolas
@RosieJonesRules
@RosieJonesRules 2 жыл бұрын
Not a chance. You seem to be forgetting how weak Legolas is once he gets forced into combat, additionally you havent mentioned Dwalin (who hits harder than anyone in Fellowship) and Gloin, not to mention the slew of special rules the other dwarves have.

Thanks 😊 We try and just use a bit of common sense with the trapped rule. If the model can move backwards at all, we tend to not count it as trapped 👍

6:45// myop film the whole prep and all of the game, then upload the entire content, and place Time Lines available to the viewer to Skip to the Part of the entire Video they want to see. eg: one of the timelines should be the Final Battle of the last standing characters. I always prefer all content, so i can see the RAW footage and let my mouse do the editing of time and space the Other main vein reason i prefer the full content is to allow the Provider LESS PRESS(pun) Sure if they had all the time of a editing crew, two producers and No other time for lives, wives, toys not on the Board. where is that Ouija any way? lol i once was witness to three teens into their young 20s girls place their finger tips upon a Ouija Pointer and they Won that Board game, providing me with two names of persons i would meet 18 months later. some games are board and Others r just Boring . show the tell, completely, with Time Line Edit Option with titles and see watt steam engine happens // just an op, Take it 4 what it is worth God Bless and May the Games begin! Action! (pun) said the Director

What rules are you referring to?
@pawep7056
@pawep7056 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheTabletopAlliance For starters 1) It dose not cont who role a dice and his fight value, only fight value of best warrior cont. Page 47 - "When comparing the dice rolls to see which side has won, only consider the highest scoring dice and the highest Fight value on each side." 2) Before rolling dice for wounds you declare against who you are attacking not after you see result of dices. Page 47 example "STRIKES ON MULTIPLE TARGETS Aragorn has an Uruk-hai Trapped against awall, and another Uruk-hai has charged in against him. Aragorn easily bests his opponents and wins the Fight, and can now resolve his Strikes. He chooses to Strike against the Trapped Uruk-hai first, so this Attack becomes two Strikes. He rolls both dice together. If the Uruk-hai survives, Aragorn can direct another Attack against him(for a further two Strikes) or he can choose to Strike against the other opponent, instead making one Strike for each Attack." 3) When you cast spell only highest dice cont for casting and resisting player have to score equal score to it. if you score two rolls equal or higher then casting roll it dose not mean resisting player have too score two rolls equal of both dices he have to score one equal of casting roll.

You guys are 100% using bots for subscribers. 2 months since first upload and only 50k views doesn't make sense for 293k subs. Also you need to read the rules again, the amount of errors is distracting me from the video. That aside I did enjoy the editing and I think that showing the wound chart and the characters stats is useful for the viewers, good job on that. Read again the magic, movement, control zones and combat pages on the book! Or watch some of Zoropazorp or conquest creation videos!

They were lord of the rings lore channel before they went to the broken sword they moved the lore videos to that channel and after that they deleted the lore videos on this channel so that's why they have so many subs also I do belive many of the people just come from the broken sword and they say ooh this looks cool I'll watch it later and forget about this channel The first part before I said "I do belive" was said by this people themselves and the part after that js my hypothesis so no they are not using bots and if they were they whod be using them for the broken sword too
@georgiancountryball202
@georgiancountryball202 2 жыл бұрын
And yep most popular video on the broken sword has more than a million views so if something this channel could also have had those crazy amount of views considering it was basically the broken sword so yeah your wrong your heck of a wrong

And almost all of thair videos get 100k views on the broken sword so I belive it was like that here too as who doesn't love lotr lore other than some stupid guy claiming that warhammer is better than LOTR that I had to fight in the comments of another video

@@georgiancountryball202 dude no need to fight. I read it on their newer video that they were from broken sword. Now the amount of errors was too much for me. I'd rather watch Middle earth at The Last Alliance of Noobs and Men or Conquest Creation (Zorpazorp but he switched to Warhammer). I don't owe you any apologies or anything really.

@@miguelcorreia1149 I never fought if something I just divided my one comment into multiple cus some things were interrupting me and I know that you didnt like errors and I never corrected you on that one either i said that they dont use bots that's all and your right you dont owe me any apologies you owe them for calling them fraud and accusing them of using bots and if you say that you didn't accuse them you said "you guys are 100% using bots" which is a falce accusation And no one is holding you from not watching them for "makeing mistakes" even tho in thair "first" video on this channel they said that they are playing by household rules because that is more entertaining for them (and thair entertainment matters more because thair main income from youtube come from lore channels not this this is for fun and enjoyment) (And I said first in "s because its technically not first but oldest that we can see) And no need to reply to me anymore you can tell them if you've changed your feelings if not then fine by me it's your choice
