Howdy ya’ll. Today we will look at the oldest known photographs of India, dated to the 1860’s and taken by Samuel Bourne. I have translated the original titles of the images and included them on the relevant photographs. These are some of the most astounding Old World photographs I have come across recently, and I can’t wait to hear what you think about these images in the comment section down below. Enjoy!

Just imagine over 5 million temples destroyed and looted from 750 AD to 1500AD and still see so many architecture. Imagine if you visited in pre 750 AD scenarios?

They show only Mosque from North. Glad South has it's ancient structures standing still. Like 1000 years old Bruhaseshwara temple in Tanjore.

India held the majority of world trade up until about 400 years ago, they built the best ships in the world and made the best fabrics. It was Britain that deindustrialised the country and forced the people back into starving peasant farmers.

If this doesn't shine light on what's been hidden for centuries, I don't know what else can..

The crown took over in 58. I imagine they destroyed a lot of stuff in the ensuing years to achieve conformity of the locals via cultural genocide. As well as possibly destroying artifacts for religious reasons.

The horse carvings, (ETC!, ETC!) on the Srirangam Temple in Tirucharippalli are more than impressive. ESPECIALLY when considering it was built in the 3rd century B.C….WOW! ❤️☀️

These places were already ancient ruins, even in the mid 1800’s, and like everywhere else in the world, there were very few human beings around. Amazing!

What I find most interesting in the India region is the excessive ornamentation work beyond other old world structures anywhere. Many similar building techniques, but the ornamentation work is over the top.

Wow...what incredible sites! Living and raised in america with our diluted history they makes us think all the other countries of the world are completely 3rd world and u see kids in diapers and u can donate .10 to help a starving child...wow how we piss on other civilizations and all the lies. Things like this and reaearch have completely changed my life thank you! I am a brick mason and these old world photos are breathtaking
